Some conversations take time ⏳ For Ecoat, those conversations started during an EEN2EIC pitching session in 2023. Two years later, the company secured €21 million in funding, backed by private and public partners. 👇 Find out more below
Ecoat, the Seal of Excellence French pioneer in bio-based and sustainable coating solutions, has secured €21 million in funding! 🎊 With support from Yotta, Starquest, the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF) and the French government’s France 2030 plan via ADEME. Back in 2023 ECOAT took part in a pitching session organised by Bpifrance within the EEN2EIC framework. It was during this session that CEO Olivier Choulet met the investment team of Yotta, a first introduction that later turned into a successful partnership. 🤝 This achievement was strongly supported by the EEN2EIC project, which facilitated strategic connections with investors. The EEN2EIC goal is to create a bridge between the two projects in order to support innovation, scale up companies and involve the most relevant actors in the EIC and EEN landscape. Guidelines on the Foreign Subsidies Regulation The European Commission has published its first Guidelines on the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), bringing more clarity and predictability for companies operating in the Single Market. The guidelines explain how the Commission will assess: • distortions of competition in the internal market • distortions in public procurement procedures • the balancing of negative and positive effects of foreign subsidies • when below-threshold cases may be called in, with safe harbours for low-value situations They support transparent and effective enforcement of the FSR, ensuring a level playing field while keeping the EU open to trade and investment.
