Lunch Break

I am a well trained dog. Yes, I am. That is why when Mom is taking her lunch break and eating her sandwich, I ponder the question, “to eat or not to eat” as I stare at turkey, wheat and tomato

She ate. It was hers. Poor me.

Neighbors, Nerds, and Business!

Where do dogs go to their business? Mom does hers at home. No one bats at eye; they just call her a computer nerd. Well, other dogs and I have with “business” have to escape to a neighbor’s lawn…
Just sayin’

Game Night…with the Dogs!

Did you think that only humans play games? Oh no, we dogs love games and not just fetch and tug-o-war. I am including some examples of some games that we enjoy that humans may not often realize that we are playing or think to play with us!

Milkbone Jenga: a game of skill for canines and humans!

Unbuild-A-Bear: perfect way to utilize those toys that simply are unneeded and collect dust

Impersonation: look Mom, I got Botox, too!
Don’t forget to schedule a game night for your furry family members.

The Fuss about Socks!

Yesterday Mom and Dad were working on our skills with us. Just as they are lifelong learners as teachers must be, service and therapy dogs must constantly review and learn new skills. We are always”training”! So after practicing things we knew, Dad asked Dash to “go get” a sock. He went directly to the hamper, opened it and nosed around until he brought back a mate for the sock Dad showed him. He dropped it into Dad’s palm. Mom and Dad were really excited! They tried it three more times with other socks. Then they tried keys. Dash brought back the keys. He went and found them in another room. Since Mom loses things, this may be very helpful. It will also be useful when she needs medicine or juice. Dash already had some training in this area but it is up to Mom and Dad to refine it. They were excited to see how much he remembered! What a smart boy my brother is! It worth the fuss about socks!!

Say Cheese…Parmesan!

Today was a training day. Mom was working on retrieval skills with Dash and me while she was cooking. When she dropped something it was the perfect opportunity for me to retrieve the item. Instead, I thought it was a better time to play chase!! So mom caught me and took a picture even though she was not so happy because she told me to “say cheese…Parmesan, that is!”

Curious George…destuffed

Ever wonder what happens to a stuffie toy that gets “out of line”? Well, my friend had one of those stuffed Curious George toys. That silly monkey could never follow directions and just kept asking question after question. So the the Curious George stuffie came to a very bad end when it got out of line and kept on talking! Just sayin’.

It’s Just A Pringle’s Can!

Dad was looking at Facebook and he found the cutest cartoon. The puppy did not need a crate; he had to face his worst night night: Pringles cans. This would not cage me. I would eat my way out! “You can’t have just one!” What a dream!!!

My Fav School!

We visited my favorite place, Noe Middle School last Saturday.

The staff cares about students so much that they help them on Saturdays. Some clubs meet then, too. What dedication! Mom was doing some statistics work for the grant award, so Dad and I went with her to school because she needed to pick up some information and a few other things.
Being the diva I am, I made sure that I was beautiful and posed for a few photos in front of the trophy cases while Dad photographed me. I thought you might like to see my partial clip that Mom did. (We still have more to go!!)

Just arrived-but thinking of
great new ideas!

My ideas may lead to trophies!

Don’t I look divine?

Yellow on Dog Leads!!

Public Service Announcement Day! I saw this and wanted to share! There is a growing movement out there of DINOS (Dogs In Need Of Space) for a number of reasons. They may be in training, or fearful, or even reactive. Their owners as a group have started identifying them with yellow to alert others to give these dogs space and to NOT interact with them. Here is a neat poster to help the public!

Please be aware of yellow dogs and respect their needs! Thank you.

Uh Oh: They Are Behind Me!

Now I know how Mom feels when she is driving and there is a policeman behind her! This captures it! Gotta love it!
