The Short List!

Mom announced that she had a short list this morning. I knew what that meant: chores. Sometimes I like them – the ones that require car rides and public access as a service dog…but the cleaning ones not so much. Besides, doesn’t Mom realize I have my own chore list? Take a gander at this!

Kong Creativity

How do you stimulate a genius dog (like me) and keep them busy? Many people use a Kong and stuff it with kibble sealed with peanut butter. Mom knows that for Dash and me you must be more creative. Marshall’s Law tells it like it is…LOL

Did you laugh, too?

National Dog Day

Today, August 26th is National Dog Day!

20130826-064937.jpg
Mom and I speak frequently on the benefits of dogs as pets, as therapy dogs, as service dogs and as a variety of working dogs. Dogs are fabulous pets for the general public providing companionship, a reason to exercise (walk), stress release for blood pressure, and a link to the increase of positive endorphins. We do so much more than just wag our tails!!

Mom has told you that I was a rescue dog. I joined Mom and Dad at age three. Mom will tell you that she was looking for a Newfie with potential! She found a pet that became a therapy and service dog! Many rescues are just as awesome as I am!!

So on National Dog Day- support a rescue! Adopt, donate, give supplies, or give time to a local shelter! Your support counts!!! Thank you so much!!

Stimulate your Dogs!

We all know that a tired dog is a good dog. Dogs need physical and mental exercise to wear them out. But what toys and games provide the mental stimulation that dogs need? Are bones, stuffies and fetch enough? Or have dogs evolved as we have? Consider this…

Do you think dogs have entered the technology age? Let me know!

Meet and Greet

Today was an awesome day! We officially met our teachers that we will collaborate with this year. We are back on the Titans Team (yippee) and will work with Ms. M and her English classes. Then we will work with the cool kids in Ms. B’s class. Ms. B is so excited about me working with her that she even took a picture of me to share on Facebook! ( I feel famous).

20130821-054300.jpgHope it was my good side! Lol what do you think?
Now we can’t wait to meet the kids!!!!

Back To School

We are officially “back to school”! Unlike many volunteers, we return with the teachers and attend Inservices and opening days with them. Mom learns a great deal of information, but I spend my time in a down stay. Here is where I was…

LOL- Mom, and all the teachers, had the comfy cafeteria seats for SIX hours!
Did I mention that there was a great distraction there that I ignored? Its name was Cooper and it was a 15 week old puppy. I showed him how to down stay and be quiet. But that Cooper, well, he wiggled and wriggled. Every now and then he would bark or yip. I would stare at him with distain. His dad would shush him. His dad was not rewarding him for being quiet. I sure wondered why the Dad was paying attention to his naughty behavior…but then I would go back to my pleasant dreams. Finally, the inservice was over and Mom took me home! At least I got to see my friends!

The World of Work

Everyone is up early this morning and excitement is in the air. Dad is healthy again and returning to work. Dash and I love going to work with Mom. Either one of us could go with him – we think using our doggie logic. We know Mom is staying home today and cleaning stinky stalls and who wants to be in the barn supervising that!?!?
So we quickly and quietly prepare for work!

Dad reminds us that Mom needs us here and we return to Mom to find out that we will be running many errands today after the stalls. And best of all, our work starts tomorrow!

The Alternate List!

Dear Mom,
I know you wanted to do chores today. Instead I am offering you a better set of alternatives.

As you can see, I confiscated your brush. But I am willing to share

20130812-095332.jpg
My soccer ball,

Or my pink and purple tug,

Or best of all, my snorkel gear!

Great alternatives, don’t you think?

Oh, Monday Morning!

It’s a typical Monday morning and Mom gave us some early AM exercise despite the fact that all anyone wanted to do was go back to bed and sleep! As Mom came back to her room, she found this:

There was no room for her…Dash and I were both thinking:

Mom sighed, woke us and made us move to our own beds! And that is how Monday started. LOL
