My Mommy

It’s Friday morning and we want to play our favorite game: “My Mommy”! It is very simple. Dash and I both play it together. We competeto see who can put our heads on Mom’s lap. Now realize that one of is a Newfoundland and the other is a Labrador – we are both big dogs! It is a very silly game. Mom took a picture from her point of view this morning.

I think it is a tie! Dash declares he was winning…

And Mom played the game for a little while more. It is our favorite game! Do you play it?

Enjoy Your Life!!!

Life is meant to be enjoyed. And two of the best things in life are laps and appreciating being in laps also known as art! That is how to enjoy life…according to a dog!
So here is my friend, Sur Saint, greatly enjoying life!

Prognosis: Lap Lockdown

We made a trip to see one of Mom’s doctor’s today. The prognosis is good but not great. Mom has a better understanding of how the surgery went, post surgery condition, and what she needs to do to to recover. And, other things may be a factor.
Being the wonderful nanny Newfie that I am, when we returned home I decided that Mom should be on nap/lap lockdown. I tossed my toy onto the bed. Naturally Mom climbed onto the bed to get it. I snuck right up there and plunked myself over her legs. She couldn’t move. Hee Hee.

I did grab my toy and put it on her lap and let Mom know her that she was going to be resting. Period.
And then I calmly rolled to my side. 128 pounds of “dead” goofy Newfie weight.

Mom knew she needed to give in…and she did. She leaned back, closed her eyes and rested – just as I planned!
Nap lockdown by the nanny Newfie!

Operation: Holiday Makeover

Mom said that humans get makeovers for the holidays and that it was my turn. I was really excited …at first!
The weather outside was gorgeous!

It was then that I realized I was in for the real deal! A hair cut, bath and blow dry! It is a BIG deal to bathe an XL, XFluffy dog like me. I tried my cloak of invisibility, but Mom knew how to find me despite that trick.
She gathered her tools and placed them strategically in her bathroom.

With a snip and a swish, she began to trim. What a job it is to give this girl a decent hair cut. Two hours later, we called it quits. Mom said she had enough “fun” for one day, since we still had to bathe me. Mom told me that she would give me a finish cut in the next couple of days. With that, she stood up and put alway her tools. Look what she took off my coat!

Even though I cooperate, it still takes Mom and Dad to bathe me. Hey, it is not fun to stand in the horse mats and get hosed down with cold water, have foamy goo rubbed on you, and then be hosed again! I have to protest by shaking the water and goo off on Mom and Dad. They are pretty good about my shakes though. They don’t get mad. The only thing is, they can’t take pictures of me bathing cos I get them so very wet.
I look like this now since I am not dry this morning even though we did do some drying with a dryer on cool.

When I am dry later, I will share my holiday makeover! It was a big deal!
