Busy Day!

Today was a typical busy day volunteering at Noe Middle School as a Therapy Dog. We arrive at 7:00 AM and check in. Mom has some papers to run off and so we visit the copy machine. Of course, we make stops along the way since teachers and some students want to pat me. The stress is already high for some people – or perhaps I am just irresistible! Then we went to Mrs. Arnold’s class for math. I love math. Sometimes I do tricks to help students select the right answer. Today I stuck close to my buddy, J, to help him with paying attention. Then we went to Mrs. Ames’ class. Guess what happened there? The PA system came on and a voice said, “Earthquake, Earthquake”. I did a perfect under. The class was following directions too!

I watched them like a mother hen making sure that they stayed under the table until the PA system came on and a voice said, “The drill is over”.

They did a great job on the drill. Our day was a good one even if it was very busy!

Noteworthy Quick Clips

So much happened in the first couple weeks of school. Mom worked as an adult volunteer while we waited on our permission slips. The kids got to learn about me. I went to visit some classes, including the ESL program.

This young man is one of my close friends. He loves my soft fur and visits me every day!
We also attended Noe’s “Welcome Back” Open House and greeted many parents. They were intrigued to meet a big, fluffy girl like me as a “collaborator” in the classroom and expressed positive thoughts about our upcoming award celebration. Oops! I am not sure I am supposed to tell you about that yet.

Aunt Krista was at the door to greet new friends! Our room is pretty and welcoming! We worked soooo hard!

Parents listened as Aunt Krista explained the reading and writing program!

Mom and I had our spot in the back, available if needed.

At the end of a long day and the parents departed, I grabbed a few winks on the comfy couch while mom and Aunt Krista straightened the room
and made sure all was ready for class in the morning!

Well, those are my quick clips.
