Mirror On The Wall
MIRROR ON THE WALL
Never looked better
He told himself (Discounting
Declining eyesight)
POTUS Poots Forth Another
POTUS POOTS FORTH ANOTHER
“Wake up, Pop, you have to meet the press.”
“What is it this time? Why can’t I just tweet?”
“This Harvey thing’s too big. You have to meet.
And be careful not to look like you couldn’t care less.”
“Why don’t you go, Ivanka, in a slinky low-cut dress?
Distract ’em. Let your booty take the heat.”
“But you’ll be on TV, centre stage, comfy seat.”
“Well in that case … Oh no! Look! My hair’s a mess.”
Now he’s in make-up sat polishing his schtick
And figuring out ways he can stroll off with some big money.
“I’ll have him deported.” “I’ll make Mexico build a big wall.”
“I’ll nuke him.” “The bigger they are, the harder they fall.”
Trouble is while thousands are suffering yer bumpkin’s so thick
He thinks “this Harvey thing” is an invisible six-foot bunny.

Legacy
LEGACY
Once I’m at last dead and gone
And once you’ve cracked the password
(Which – I warn you
Is in itself no mean task)
There they will lie before you
Wantonly displaying themselves
After all – you persevered
(Your comment is awaiting moderation)
Yet so at last then you will gather
These odd bedfellows under one leaky roof
Those who were my true decendants
And a pox on “friends and family”
And – if you got this far
Don your hiking boots
Go carve your own trek
With my blessings

Besides being a piece of unashamed self-advertisement 😉 I am hoping this post might:
1. Introduce its readers to some excellent writers;
2. Encourage those among you who write to submit some of your own work;
3. Suggest you subscribe to Tuck for yourselves.

You will be no one

There ‘E Goes (The One Note Samba) – (Republished)

THERE ‘E GOES (THE ONE NOTE SAMBA)
There are eight notes in the octave
(One of them recycles its name)
But then there are always those
Who only recognise one note
Repetitive and relentless
Me Me Me Me Me

Frequently, my initial reaction to this type of person is one of revulsion. but then I sometimes pause for reflection and begin wondering what sort of pain, fear and insecurity this behaviour is concealing.
