A Visit from Linds and Cory!
This past weekend we had our first house guests...my sister Linds and bro-in-law Cory stopped by for a few days as they were making their long drive home to Virginia. It was very relaxing and we enjoyed simply "hanging out". We went to some really great outlet stores, got some samples at our beloved Costco, and went out to eat at Culver's (Linds and Cory were missing that from Chicago!) We also made a yummy dinner with ribs and all the fixin's. The few pics I took were all from Saturday morning before anyone was ready for the day, so don't be alarmed that we are all still in our pajamas and look pretty ragged :)
It's been awhile since I got to do some hair, so it was nice to touch-up Linds' highlights and give her a little trim. Sorry the pic is a little SCARY!!

The little cousins wanted to have a close-up. Bennett reminded us that in the New Testament when cousins John the Baptist and Jesus were in the womb they leapt for joy when they were near eachother. We were testing to see if ours would do the same :)

First Day of School :)
I had to capture this memorable day that marks our journey for the next four years. Bennett officially began dental school on Monday, August 17th. What a cutie all dressed in scrubs :)
I am pretty jealous that picking out his wardrobe each day will be as simple as selecting which color scrubs he would like to wear. I was just telling Bennett about how deciding my first day of school outfit each year growing up was quite the ordeal. My sister Lindsay and I would try on all our new purchases and have a fashion show between the two of us deciding which combination of clothes would be the best. This often took quite a bit of time. We would discuss what shoes, accessories, and even what hair style to go with for the day to match the perfect outfit we chose. Hehehe....girls are silly. I am sure I will be doing the same thing with our future little girlies - I will probably host the fashion show and force them to try on all their outfits against their will!! :) I asked Bennett if he ever put thought into what he was going to wear on the first day of school growing up...nope. He basically threw on whatever he had and off he went. I guess it's a good thing he will be wearing scrubs for the next while - a quick and easy choice :)

Welcome to Texas
Today I had a warm welcome from a fellow Texan. This Texan actually moved into our new apartment and is playing hide-and-seek for the time being. He gave me just a quick glimpse of himself before scurrying off to plan his next scare tactic. I am sure I frightened the new move-in as well as Bennett with my blood-curdling scream, but sometimes I just can't help myself. Bennett quickly tried to capture and eliminate this unwelcomed guest, but the little guy was just too fast. I think he is lurking deep in the corners of a kitchen cabinet, too far for us to reach for or see. There is now a reward out for the person that can successfully find, kill and dispose of his dead body.
WANTED:
DEAD RATHER THAN ALIVE

REWARD UPON DISPOSAL
Hopefully this will occur sooner rather than later...I am now extremely paranoid whenever I set foot in the kitchen.
Also, I will be updating soon of our adventures over the last couple weeks!! I went to Washington for a sister's trip, and Bennett and I went to Chicago for a little vacate with my parents. Pics and stories to come!
