oh, um hi, hello there…

The strangest thing happened to me. I died. I was floating in an endless abyss of glowing golden stars and azure colored skies. I felt every memory and every emotion I had ever had rumble through my body like I was on a never ending roller coaster. I felt infinite, I felt ethereal, I felt like a god. Then it all stopped. I was falling, free falling, faster than any human could survive, it felt like breaking through thousands of panes of thin glass, shredding every last inch of my soul from my body. But that was nothing compared to the pain of slamming into the ground. Like hitting a wall of clarity, I was back in reality, I was still alive.

Okay so no, none of that happened. But that would have been pretty dang cool to have some out of body experience. Instead I’ve just been taking a break. Summer can do it to a girl. Most nights you just want to be outside, dancing in the rain, running a thousand miles an hour in whatever direction you please, experiencing life and living, just living. However, I am back! I am here to share all my thoughts, large and small, offensive or not, and write more reviews and thoughts and writing and any other thing that is exciting in my life whether you think it is or not!

I have a handful of book reviews I need to write. My friend, Kara, keeps pestering me about writing them especially one for The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Adhieh. OMG! That book though, definitely one of the best books of the year and most highly anticipated sequel for next year. I also plan to write either full reviews or a short summary review for the following:

  • Zodiac by Romina Russell
  • In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters
  • Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
  • Asylum by Madeleine Roux
  • Legend by Marie Lu
  • The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings
  • Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
  • After the End by Amy Plum
  • Endgame: The Calling by James Frey
  • The Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix

I just finished reading Endgame so that will probably be one of the first full reviews I post. The Abhorsen Trilogy is an amazing series that everyone should read. It influenced so many of today’s authors. I loved Sabriel when I finally got to reading it last year but Lirael and Abhorsen made me deeply passionate about the series. I mean I am in the process of creating a very intensely accurate Lirael cosplay costume!

There are also so many exciting books coming out this fall that have me anxious for their arrival. Number one being Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas, the fourth book in the Throne of Glass series, and it will be in my greedy hands tomorrow!! Now if only I could start reading it tomorrow but I promised Kara I would start reading Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley which is fine with me because I’ve been wanting to read it since it came out and I finally bought it. Anyway I will write an entire post about upcoming releases this week and start posting some reviews!

Talk to y’all soon!!
