2 Months

She made it to 2 months!

Yay! 2 months!

Being 2 months means some great milestones and privileges for Sadie:

She holds her own pacifier.
Does it matter whether it is on purpose or not?

She gets to be twinners with mom!

She can hang out with dad on the couch

She is much bigger! Compare to picture of her at 4 weeks below.
Sadie is now 9 lbs 15 oz (so close to 10 lbs, dangit!) and 22 1/2 inches.
26th and 52nd percentiles respectively.

She knows something you don't--so smug, that Sadie.

Here's to hoping she makes it another 2 months (and more)!

Calling All Photographers

Anyone out there have photography as a hobby? Or do you know anyone who does? I really want to get some family pictures taken but I don't want to pay $100 (or more) for it. I am willing to compensate though. Let me know! Comment or e-mail me- carlynielson@gmail.com.

Diva

Is it too much trouble to ask my daughter for a nice mother-daughter picture on my birthday?
Apparently, yes, it is. Or any other time for that matter (see below).

*please note the spit-up all over the dress

What a diva! I love calling her that mostly because Daniel hates it. However, just like Daniel hated calling her "girlie" before she was born, I plan on diva becoming a staple nickname. Just think about it. She is a diva. Daniel will be calling her little diva before long.

*Side note- if our next child is a boy he will be called divo. Even funnier.

Chats With Sadie

Sadie has become much more aware of her voice in the past few days. Here is a recent conversation I had with her in pictures.

Yelling about something. I'm guessing poop.

Listening to my response.

Telling me why I am wrong. The pointer finger adds emphasis.

Oh and a cute picture with dad:

Diary of a Happy Nielson Woman

This morning Sadie was just about the smiliest she has ever been. Here is what I got on camera...

My favorite:

Museum Outing: No Boys Allowed

We have lived by the Pioneer Heritage Museum for 3 years but never gone in. So as Sadie and I were on a walk the other day and I saw a big "OPEN" sign on the front door, we decided to check it out. This museum is a girl's only club if I've ever seen one. Upon entering we found a bunch of women with an average age of roughly 72.5. Sadie loved it! She is learning early the age-old saying "girls rule and boys drool".

But seriously, this museum has some really cool stuff from the pioneers who settled Provo. And it's free. It's open from April to October the last two Wednesdays of the month from 1-4 PM. It is operated by the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers; hence why there were all women inside.

An oxe yoke used to cross the plains

In a chair brought across the ocean and then to Utah in 1849.
Sadie just had to test it out. She's a rule breaker!

So Courtney Can Have Something Else to Memorize

We enjoy laughing at our daughter

Sadie has found....

1. Her thumb. Whenever she finds it she'll inevitably start squirming again, pull it out of her mouth, and get mad.

2. Her swing mobile. She smiles at those little lambs more than anything else.

3. Her inner snob. Look at that pinky raised in the air!

Update on Daniel's Job- Sorry for my vagueness; Daniel said he was going to do a post on it. He wants me to write that he is now a Wolverine. It was sad to leave the people at BYU, but this is a step in the right direction for his career.

NOT Photogenic

BIG news

This is how we've been feeling lately
Sick and tired of no #2

Well, we are sick and tired no more!!!
We have never been so happy to change a diaper.
I danced around while chanting "poop party" and giggling.

Sadie feels surprised, but relieved that Poop Watch '09 has concluded

Oh. Daniel got a new job too. So long cougars, bring on the green!

Poop Watch 2009

A few weeks ago when I so rashly declared "no more appointments until she is 2 months old!" I didn't anticipate the great event of September-- Poop Watch 2009. No poop since August 31st.

Doing her part- pushing

I called the pediatrician today to get some advice and they had me bring Sadie in just to make sure there is nothing wrong with her. Nothing wrong; in fact, she is the most healthy she has ever been. She jumped up to the 18th percentile for weight (up from 12th 2 weeks ago) and she has grown almost 2 inches since birth. Just no poop!

Some day it will happen and when it does we will have a party.

Firsts..

With a newborn baby there really are firsts every day.
Here are a few from this week:

First time sleeping in her crib. It would appear she enjoyed the extra room.

First time wrestling a dinosaur. She lost. Badly.

First time snuggling up in her fuzzy elephant blanket. It is now her favorite.

Finally, her first BYU football game. Here she is cheering with her dad.

Tummy Time: A Photo Essay

Can't say she loves it; can't say she hates it. She survives it.

She can also be cute though...
