The first day we were there was Thanksgiving Day and you know what that means....the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We got to the parade route at 6:30am and there was already hundreds of people. We finally found a small front row standing spot and spent the next 4 hours standing in a sardine packed crowd in the freezing cold. And then...this started

The parade was pretty cool and lasted about 2 1/2 hours! Unfortunately, on the bus ride home from NYC my wonderful Nikon D60 SLR camera was stolen with all 400 pictures of everything we had done that weekend. I cried all night long and still shed a tear when thinking about it; I am still praying that someone out there will feel a small bit of guilt and sympathy and return my beloved camera. (all of the photos on this blog are from the internet)
After the parade we relaxed a bit and walked around Times Square and then went to the Empire State building to eat a Thanksgiving feast. This was my first time eating Thanksgiving dinner not at home and it was a little different, but a fun experience.

After dinner we went to see the new Disney movie "Tangled"- it was SO cute! It is the story of Rapunzel and I absolutely LOVED it. I definitely recommend it to everyone!!

The next morning...black Friday...Stephanee, Morgan and I got up at 4 am and went to the "World's Largest Store"- Macy's! It was DECKED out with Christmas decorations and looked fabulous! This store is HUGE; it has 10 floors and each floor is as big as a normal Macy's (almost). It was really fun to experience black Friday in NYC just once.
After that we went on a bus tour of the city and got some really interesting facts about the city and some of its buildings. Next we walked around the financial district and saw the twin towers site, the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange), the Trinity Church (in National Treasure) and lots of other cool things. We then took the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and walked around there.
After that we went to Hard Rock cafe in Times Square and ate a delicious dinner. If you ever have a chance to go here it is really awesome! They have some really neat stuff. After dinner we went to the King Tut exhibit and I LOVED it. Some facts on King Tut-
He died at the age of 19 years and the cause of death is still a mystery.
His tomb was discovered in 1922 about 3,500 years after he was buried
There were tons of artifacts found in the tomb and all of them were in incredible condition. This type of stuff fascinates me and I read everything in the museum!

The next day was our last and we started the day by going to the Empire State building and going all the way to the top. The view from the top is amazing!
Next, we went to see the LDS Manhattan temple and it was very interesting to see. Right in the middle of the city! It is completely sound proof and once inside you can't hear anything from the outside.
