I’ve seen sparkly lights in windows
of shops full of jingling bells
I see miserly men smile
I see the angels roar high
in the air on a streak of snow
I know they’re angels
I’ve seen them flash in the setting sun
I’ve seen them I tell you
they’re as true as true can be
I’ve seen them
though they could be reindeer

she would expect and be given
a small bowl of biscuits
after which she
with a delicate burp
