i’m trying to use tumblr more again and it still cracks me the fuck up how this post has some of the most notes i’ve ever gotten and still gets reblogged a lot 3 years later

i used to not even LIKE rouxls. in ch1 i thought his comedy was forced. now he has one of the funniest jokes in the game. fuck.

like i don’t doubt that people cared about her before the movie but all these assumptions and such are just. headcanons. like the reasons why you love her and think thunderb0lts was ruined for it aren’t real

Update as of 4/25/25:

Found out from prev that mosabsdr at least has made an update post apologizing for the spam, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that maybe gazavetters reached out to let them know about the rule 2 violation (and the counterproductive nature of sending hundreds of asks around a block to hundreds of users every day).

However, if any other blogs continue spamming you, my advice remains the same: block and delete asks, do not report, just ignore as best you can; do not engage.

OP I will not give you the benefit of the doubt for this. However for anyone else seeing this, let's go through this post point by point:

The following blogs are spam blogs, all pretending to be Palestinians needing help in Gaza. They are mass flooding tumblr inboxes with identical text + emojis in order to ask for $90k USD

Spam does not equal scam. Most Palestinians are desperate for any kind of support in a world where essentials needed to stay alive such as flour can cost over a hundred USD (and that's just the last estimate I've heard from my contacts months ago). People are spamming because it makes them harder to ignore, which many will take any excuse to do so. "Spam blogs pretending to be Palestinians" Do you have any proof that they are not Palestinians ? I know you know what you are saying. Seems a very big mixup to do.

I ask you this: is spamming on the internet a valid reason to send over 400 people to report your fundraiser which is your only source of income, and which you depend on to provide for your family ?

The primary language for most Palestinians is the Palestinian dialect of Arabic. A lot of them do not know English very well and are not going to personalise every message when they have a couple hours every day (if even that) to be online and contact people abroad. They use templates just like how many people use email templates for their jobs. Implying this means they are scammers would have to imply everyone who's ever used a template for their resumé has also been lying about everything as well.

Even when you block these blogs, they will use a side blog to send you seemingly infinite anonymous asks, and THEN change the sending blog when you block that anon.

Damn it's almost like they're going through a genocide and are desperate for help from westerners who keep ignoring them. Wild. Also worth noting that blocking through anon is something that tumblr is famously not dependable at.

At least 2 of these blogs have been confirmed by @gazavetters to be spamming blogs.

Again there is a difference between spamming and scamming. Also, which 2 ? You mention one but not the other. Gazavetters does not say this fundraiser is a scam, only that the person behind it often spams. As evidenced by it still being on their list.

1. Mosabsdr

This is the user who has a warning on the gazavetters list for spamming. This means that this individual often sends too many asks or messages to too many people. It says nothing about the validity of his fundraiser, which has been vetted by gazavetters due to it still being on their list at #309. If it wasn't valid, it would be marked red on their list.

Moreover, this is an excerpt from Mosab El Derawi''s pinned post:

"There’s something I need to say—something that’s been on my heart for some time.

When I first began sharing our story, I didn’t know what the right way was. I was scared, grieving, and trying to protect my family in any way I could. I reached out to many people, hoping someone, anyone, would see us. In that process, I now realize I may have overstepped, and I might have made some feel overwhelmed.

If that happened, I am truly sorry."

The full apology is longer and you can read it on his account but frankly the fact he had to apologise at all is preposterous to me. You will not die if you have to deal with a little spam. I've seen your most recent addition to this post where you acknowledge this but frankly I don't think you care. "I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt" who the hell do you think you are. Not following internet etiquette is not grounds for sending hoards of users to report these people. Saying "do not report" is irrelevant when when your post attacking random Palestinians for perceived slights has already gotten popular several days ago.

2. aboodfmly

The other accounts you mentioned for this person have been terminated by tumblr, and I would be willing to bet people mass-reporting them had something to do with it. Their campaign is number #537 on the gazavetters list with no warnings about them whatsoever. Again, you will not die from being sent spam, and spam does not automatically mean that they are lying. Spam ≠ scam.

3. nasergz and nasr-daher

It looks like you've put such little actual thought into this post that you've missed that these are the same person. Nasergz has been terminated by tumblr, again, likely due to mass-reporting. Their campaign has not been vetted by anyone on tumblr as far as I know but that is all you can claim about it at the moment. This does not mean it is valid or invalid, many real Palestinian fundraisers still remain unvetted due to how many fundraisers there are and how many people are willing to vet. This does not mean a fundraiser is a scam. You can be unwilling to donate to unvetted fundraisers, and that is completely understandable, but frankly a fundraiser's vetting status is very easy to find out. It does not justify calling them out like this. Spam ≠ scam.

4. sajagz

Same as above, campaign not vetted but this does not justify a post like this. Spam ≠ scam.

5. abd20001

Abd20001 has been vetted number #359 in the gazavetters list, however that fundraiser has since been taken down by GFM (which has happened to many Palestinians regardless of their validity due to GFM's zionist policies) and has been redone on Chuffed. It is the same person behind the fundraiser. See this post for proof. Spam ≠ scam.

Altogether, what does your post achieve ? Nothing. This is a beware for nothing. All you've managed to do is put innocent Palestinians in danger. Even aside from the accounts you've mentioned, I'm sure many people who want reasons to ignore the genocide will be applying your logic to other Palestinians on tumblr. You are not helping anyone.
