Camping!!!

Kendell and I were lucky enough to have the same few days off together so we headed up to the Uintahs for a camping adventure! We ended up at mirror lake. It was alot of fun :-) Very cold at night which isn't fun for a pregnant lady that has to get up to use the restroom. I also don't recommend an air mattress when your back already hurts.

Mufasa probably had the most fun out of anyone! He loves swimming and took any chance he got to get in the water. Even though he would shiver until he was dry. He learned to appreciate a good fire. We didn't get much fishing in because everytime Kendell would cast his line Mufasa went in after it. I tried to distract him and hold him back but he always found a way to get into the water and was determined to get the bubble ha ha.

We went on a hike to a few different lakes. It was really pretty. People seemed to like the idea of having the dog carry his own stuff :-)

And here's moon lake. We had fun riding our bikes around it but also learned our brakes don't work well when they're wet.

This is just a really pretty waterfall we spotted on our drive. I made an urgent stop for a picture :-)

And we also saw a moose on our drive! There were actually two of them. Male and female.

...And for those of you who made it through this post. Here is the much requested updated "belly shot"

The Big One

Monday was the "Big ultrasound." It was so fun. For some reason I was super nervous about it. I really had no idea why but I kept having nightmares we would get in a wreck on the way there or for some reason Kendell couldn't come. But not to worry...all went well. Our baby has a strong healthy heart with 4 working chambers, diaphram, kidneys, extremeties....brain hemispheres...It all checked out! And of course we took a peek between the legs and found out "its" a BOY!!!!! Were super excited. We really didn't care what we had but now that we know we just think having a boy will be so much fun. I'm excited to start buying stuff and getting ready for this little guy to be here. I have been feeling him kick a lot the past couple weeks. Kendell has even felt him a few times. During the ultrasound he was constantly turning around...kicking his legs...stretching his arms...ha ha so CUTE! Here are a few of his first snap shots :-)

Oh and the doctor said "Wow he has long fingers!" So I guess we already know he gets that from his mom :-) We didn't get a picture of the hand though

A quarter of a century!

Kendell's birthday was last month! It kinda snuck up on me and then my plans didn't quite go as planned but we had fun none the less. We went on a hike in the morning that I remember being really pretty. Well I forgot to consider how weird this year is and that it might still be covered in snow! So it was more of a snow hike. And of course there was not a trail to follow so we tried to figure out the end destination by ourselves. We got to the top of the mountain and saw where we were suppose to be but decided to call it good. It was a very hard hike! Later we went boating with my parents and our neighbors. It was a blast! On Kendells actually birthday we headed up to Flaming Gorge for some more boating fun up there! Happy birthday!!!!

If you look close there is a lake behind us. Somewhat covered with snow. ...yeah thats where we wanted to be...

Ragnar? Yeah ok

So its almost been a year ago that my friend invited me to be on her Ragnar team. At first I just laughed and told her I don't run. I try and run sometimes but it usually doesn't last very long because I feel like I'm going to die. Being able to tolerate running has always been a goal of mine. Just not one I'm good at sticking with. So I decided if I commited to running the Ragnar it would push me to do it. Being pregnant was just an extra challenge that decided to come along for the ride. (that really wasn't that bad. I was just really tired my first trimester so training took a lot of motivation). The Ragnar was the third week in June and it was so fun. I'm so proud of myself for doing it and Kendell and I are already trying to put a team together for next year! So you can understand how far I came...Kendell is a cross country runner and so when he ran the Ragnar I would just ride my bike next to him. When we got married he talked me into running with him a few times. We would get to the end of the neighborhood (2 blocks) and I would start walking and tell him I was gonna die. He would just put his hand on my back and not let me stop. Well on the Ragnar I ran a total of 16 miles with my longest leg 7 miles! Take that! WOO HOO! I didn't take my camera but Kendell and Mufasa suprised me and ran my last leg with me so they were there at the finish and took a picture on his phone. I tried to post it here but its super blurry. Sorry. Just imagine it in your head :-)

Picture Time!

So my goal has been to take a belly picture every 4 weeks. I have a Dr appointment every 4 weeks so I just figured I would always take it that day. Well I already missed one so forgive me. But here are the latest belly pictures.

8 Weeks! First Dr. Appointment

12 Weeks

20 Weeks! Half way

Its weird to think that its half way because I have had such an easy pregnancy so far that most of the time I don't even think about being pregnant. Lucky me! Hopefully it will continue this way.

Now You Know...

Well I think we have spread the news well enough that everyone will probably know by now...We're EXPECTING! Yeah!!! So now you get to read the story. We were planning on trying soon after Kendell graduated but I guess this little one was just a little eager. Which is fine and dandy with us! Just a tiny bit surprised :- ) So I didn't think I was pregnant and went along with my normal business for the week. When things did not progress as they should have I got curious but thought for sure it couldn't be. Kendell was about to do his 48 hour shift over the weekend so I knew I needed to find out before he went to work. I rushed to the store on my way home from work and got the stuff to tell him just in case the test came back positive. Sure enough...2 lines quickly appeared on the stick. So I went about preparing this little announcement for when Kendell got home. I have been excited to be pregnant for a long time but possibly even more excited to announce it. I always see people coming up with the cutest ideas to tell people and couldn't wait for my turn. I had this idea for a while.

This was placed in Kendell's closet so when he came home and changed his clothes he would be sure to see it. When he finally stopped talking and focused on what he was doing he just laughed at me and said..."Your not pregnant" Somewhat expecting this answer because it was April and Kendell celebrates April fools day the entire month of April....I showed him the evidence. He then asked me who peed on the stick for me. He didn't actually believe me until the following Monday when I got my blood work checked at the doctor. At this point I wanted to call my whole phonebook and tell everyone. We finally decided not to tell anyone until after the ultrasound. Boy was that a hard couple weeks. Especially since the weekend before the ultrasound we had a huge family reunion in Montana and nearly every single person asked if I was pregnant or when I was planning on getting pregnant. (Sorry for all the lies)

A couple days after the ultrasound I gave my parents a little gift with a card with the ultrasound in it. They were super excited. A couple days after that Kendell's family had a party at chuckecheese. We prepared this poster and took it to the party early for Chucky to bring to the table while we were eating. It was fun to watch everyones reaction.

Then of course we had to get Mufasa involved in all the fun. Our good friends that live across the street have a yellow lab that is bestest friends with Mufasa. They play all the time. So we made this shirt for Mufasa and sent him over for a play date : -)

One of the funnest announcements we did was have a party up at Kendell's family property in Morgan with all of his friends. We decided to play a card game with them called bang that we all seem to enjoy. On one of the cards to be drawn from the deck we had taped a message that I was pregnant. It took a while to get the card to come out but it was fun to have everyone there to find out together ha ha.

So that about sums it up. I haven't been too sick. Just one long day at work that I think I was actually truelly sick (not pregnancy sick). Just very tired all the time and always could go for some Chili's chips and queso! (hint hint) I'm excited for our adventure to come. This baby should be here just in time for Christmas! So stay tuned for further baby updates! Yippeee!!!!
