Camping!!!

Kendell and I were lucky enough to have the same few days off together so we headed up to the Uintahs for a camping adventure! We ended up at mirror lake. It was alot of fun :-) Very cold at night which isn't fun for a pregnant lady that has to get up to use the restroom. I also don't recommend an air mattress when your back already hurts.

Mufasa probably had the most fun out of anyone! He loves swimming and took any chance he got to get in the water. Even though he would shiver until he was dry. He learned to appreciate a good fire. We didn't get much fishing in because everytime Kendell would cast his line Mufasa went in after it. I tried to distract him and hold him back but he always found a way to get into the water and was determined to get the bubble ha ha.

We went on a hike to a few different lakes. It was really pretty. People seemed to like the idea of having the dog carry his own stuff :-)

And here's moon lake. We had fun riding our bikes around it but also learned our brakes don't work well when they're wet.

This is just a really pretty waterfall we spotted on our drive. I made an urgent stop for a picture :-)

And we also saw a moose on our drive! There were actually two of them. Male and female.

...And for those of you who made it through this post. Here is the much requested updated "belly shot"

The Big One

Monday was the "Big ultrasound." It was so fun. For some reason I was super nervous about it. I really had no idea why but I kept having nightmares we would get in a wreck on the way there or for some reason Kendell couldn't come. But not to worry...all went well. Our baby has a strong healthy heart with 4 working chambers, diaphram, kidneys, extremeties....brain hemispheres...It all checked out! And of course we took a peek between the legs and found out "its" a BOY!!!!! Were super excited. We really didn't care what we had but now that we know we just think having a boy will be so much fun. I'm excited to start buying stuff and getting ready for this little guy to be here. I have been feeling him kick a lot the past couple weeks. Kendell has even felt him a few times. During the ultrasound he was constantly turning around...kicking his legs...stretching his arms...ha ha so CUTE! Here are a few of his first snap shots :-)

Oh and the doctor said "Wow he has long fingers!" So I guess we already know he gets that from his mom :-) We didn't get a picture of the hand though

A quarter of a century!

Kendell's birthday was last month! It kinda snuck up on me and then my plans didn't quite go as planned but we had fun none the less. We went on a hike in the morning that I remember being really pretty. Well I forgot to consider how weird this year is and that it might still be covered in snow! So it was more of a snow hike. And of course there was not a trail to follow so we tried to figure out the end destination by ourselves. We got to the top of the mountain and saw where we were suppose to be but decided to call it good. It was a very hard hike! Later we went boating with my parents and our neighbors. It was a blast! On Kendells actually birthday we headed up to Flaming Gorge for some more boating fun up there! Happy birthday!!!!

If you look close there is a lake behind us. Somewhat covered with snow. ...yeah thats where we wanted to be...

Ragnar? Yeah ok

So its almost been a year ago that my friend invited me to be on her Ragnar team. At first I just laughed and told her I don't run. I try and run sometimes but it usually doesn't last very long because I feel like I'm going to die. Being able to tolerate running has always been a goal of mine. Just not one I'm good at sticking with. So I decided if I commited to running the Ragnar it would push me to do it. Being pregnant was just an extra challenge that decided to come along for the ride. (that really wasn't that bad. I was just really tired my first trimester so training took a lot of motivation). The Ragnar was the third week in June and it was so fun. I'm so proud of myself for doing it and Kendell and I are already trying to put a team together for next year! So you can understand how far I came...Kendell is a cross country runner and so when he ran the Ragnar I would just ride my bike next to him. When we got married he talked me into running with him a few times. We would get to the end of the neighborhood (2 blocks) and I would start walking and tell him I was gonna die. He would just put his hand on my back and not let me stop. Well on the Ragnar I ran a total of 16 miles with my longest leg 7 miles! Take that! WOO HOO! I didn't take my camera but Kendell and Mufasa suprised me and ran my last leg with me so they were there at the finish and took a picture on his phone. I tried to post it here but its super blurry. Sorry. Just imagine it in your head :-)

Picture Time!

So my goal has been to take a belly picture every 4 weeks. I have a Dr appointment every 4 weeks so I just figured I would always take it that day. Well I already missed one so forgive me. But here are the latest belly pictures.

8 Weeks! First Dr. Appointment

12 Weeks

20 Weeks! Half way

Its weird to think that its half way because I have had such an easy pregnancy so far that most of the time I don't even think about being pregnant. Lucky me! Hopefully it will continue this way.

Now You Know...

Well I think we have spread the news well enough that everyone will probably know by now...We're EXPECTING! Yeah!!! So now you get to read the story. We were planning on trying soon after Kendell graduated but I guess this little one was just a little eager. Which is fine and dandy with us! Just a tiny bit surprised :- ) So I didn't think I was pregnant and went along with my normal business for the week. When things did not progress as they should have I got curious but thought for sure it couldn't be. Kendell was about to do his 48 hour shift over the weekend so I knew I needed to find out before he went to work. I rushed to the store on my way home from work and got the stuff to tell him just in case the test came back positive. Sure enough...2 lines quickly appeared on the stick. So I went about preparing this little announcement for when Kendell got home. I have been excited to be pregnant for a long time but possibly even more excited to announce it. I always see people coming up with the cutest ideas to tell people and couldn't wait for my turn. I had this idea for a while.

This was placed in Kendell's closet so when he came home and changed his clothes he would be sure to see it. When he finally stopped talking and focused on what he was doing he just laughed at me and said..."Your not pregnant" Somewhat expecting this answer because it was April and Kendell celebrates April fools day the entire month of April....I showed him the evidence. He then asked me who peed on the stick for me. He didn't actually believe me until the following Monday when I got my blood work checked at the doctor. At this point I wanted to call my whole phonebook and tell everyone. We finally decided not to tell anyone until after the ultrasound. Boy was that a hard couple weeks. Especially since the weekend before the ultrasound we had a huge family reunion in Montana and nearly every single person asked if I was pregnant or when I was planning on getting pregnant. (Sorry for all the lies)

A couple days after the ultrasound I gave my parents a little gift with a card with the ultrasound in it. They were super excited. A couple days after that Kendell's family had a party at chuckecheese. We prepared this poster and took it to the party early for Chucky to bring to the table while we were eating. It was fun to watch everyones reaction.

Then of course we had to get Mufasa involved in all the fun. Our good friends that live across the street have a yellow lab that is bestest friends with Mufasa. They play all the time. So we made this shirt for Mufasa and sent him over for a play date : -)

One of the funnest announcements we did was have a party up at Kendell's family property in Morgan with all of his friends. We decided to play a card game with them called bang that we all seem to enjoy. On one of the cards to be drawn from the deck we had taped a message that I was pregnant. It took a while to get the card to come out but it was fun to have everyone there to find out together ha ha.

So that about sums it up. I haven't been too sick. Just one long day at work that I think I was actually truelly sick (not pregnancy sick). Just very tired all the time and always could go for some Chili's chips and queso! (hint hint) I'm excited for our adventure to come. This baby should be here just in time for Christmas! So stay tuned for further baby updates! Yippeee!!!!

Warmer Weather...

My sister has decided that she doesn't like Utah weather. That and the fact that her husband is in medical school sent her away to Arizona. My mother and I decided to take a road trip to see her and the kiddos! When we realized it was approximately a 12hr drive there we decided to stay the night at Vegas on our way down there. Well the condo we were staying at had a two night minimum so we were "forced" to stay in Vegas two nights.
Here we are on the beginning of our adventure!

The first day we just walked the strip and looked at the shops and cool things going on around the city. I liked the street preformers the best.

This is my cute little neice Tenley. She is the most content baby EVER. I would like to say that we bonded but I think she would have made friends with just about anyone. The first day we got there I got the privledge of going swimming! The second day we went to the childrens museum. It was way fun. Me and Lachlan climbed through the big climbing gym thing. He was pretty timid. Probably not his favorite adventure of the day.
This is the night before we left. We had so much fun! Thanks to my sister for letting us crash at her house and play with her adorable kids!

"It's My Life"

So Kendell did it again... He planned a surprise! He's so funny when he is planning a surprise because he gets so excited about it that I know he's up to something. Kendell has never been to a concert before so he decided to take us to the Bon Jovi concert! It was really fun. We went with our good friends Matt and Ashley. We ate a California Pizza kitchen before the concert.

I LOVE a good pizza :- )

Here is Ashley and me getting ready to rock out hard core ha ha

And of course the men that we put up with ha ha. Aren't they cute? Trying to take a good picture of them was ridiculous.

The BIG Question

I love going through old memories and finding fun surprises. I was looking through Kendell’s old camera today and found this. Thought I would share our BIG question with everyone!

The funny part of this all is I totally knew what was going on but I kept messing up his plans all day. Sorry Babe :- ) I knew what was going on because he was really excited about this date he was taking me on for weeks. Kendell doesn’t get excited very excited about much so I knew this had to be it. The date was at two o clock and I had asked him if I would want to bring my camera and he said yes. I couldn’t find it anywhere and my mom told me to look in my car. I KNEW I had not taken it to the car so I blew off her hint to me. She insisted that I look in my car and sent me out for other things from my car. I must have walked by my clue a couple times before I figured out that maybe there was more to going out to my car than to get something. *** My first clue was taped to the window of my car and said… “K babe these are the rules: You just have to follow the clues for the reward/key to my heart. You only have a few stops ha ha so you only get 1 clue, you can call me for the clue. Don’t try to cheat cause no one else knows what is going on. Good luck Babe. Hope to see you soon. I’m getting cold. Love you. – Please use your KEY and go to somewhere that will set you free. Find a house just east of here” So on my way I went. I struggled the most with this one. But finally found it on a house just east of there…go FiGure.

Clue 2: “You took me on a trip that was very significant to me. But you were the most GORGES thing I saw at that Flaming Gorge. –Find a boat just west and north of your first spot” I found the next clue on our neighbors boat who we had gone boating with that summer and Kendell knew he wanted to Marry ME!

Clue 3: “Now venture to the park to see what was bought. You always say I treat you like a princess, but if you choose right you can be my QUEEN!” I finally arrived to Jensen park to find a cold man waiting for me and this table set up with the last clue…

Last Clue: “ Be wise and use your clues to choose which would be the key to my heart.” Of course I chose the ring box; but only to find a twisty tie inside. We then carved a pumpkin and little did I know the ring was in the pumpkin and I threw it away :-/ ha ha

So there you go! I said yes and I would again and again!

Our life thus far...

Sorry I have procrastinated so long on blogging. Life has been moving too fast. So here is a quick update on what’s been going on… I had a birthday :- ) yes I am now 24 and don’t feel like it. I feel like I just graduated high school still. Don’t know when I’ll begin to feel grown up ha ha. I got an ice cream maker for my birthday though and that has been fun. It still doesn’t beat Farr’s fresh cause I would go there every day if I could! Then we had an anniversary which was way fun! We just wanted to go relax somewhere and I was in charge this year so relax we did! We both got massages and then ate way too much at tempanyaki’s. Then we stayed overnight at the Alaskan inn! When we woke up in the morning there was a fresh coat of snow so we grabbed our gear and went skiing/boarding! It was tons of fun. Then of course Christmas came. We had lots of fun with family. I am glad I got called off and got to skype with my brother from his mission. One more call and he’ll be home!

Kendell is still chugging along in school. He is doing very well and loves what he’s learning. Hopefully he will get on full time somewhere before July..were saying our prayers! On his two weeks off of school he made himself what he called his “wintervention” His goal was to do something fun every day. I think he pretty much accomplished it. He went skiing almost every day. He took me one day and we learned to cross country ski. That is really hard by the way! We thought we were doing pretty good and then some professionals came by and put us to shame ha ha.

As for me, I am now trained in the ER and the ICU at work. I don’t get called off nearly as much which is what I was going for. The ICU can be fun but emotionally really hard somedays.

Kendell was looking through pictures on our camera the other day and came across this clip. Refer to the blog titled “the Hike” for the full story. This is a clip from the day after Mufasa’s big first hike. Ha ha We couldn’t get him to get up all day. We knew he needed to go to the bathroom so here was the first steps ha ha….
