Experience teaches
So often in hindsight
We step into the light
Of awareness

This ought to get you through the coming school week!

STOLEN FROM DEB NANCE’S “READERBUZZ” post on National Poetry Week
Just google Readerbuzz, and you’ll go right to her post.

There simply is not enough kindness and gentleness in today’s world. How hard is it to say “Hello” to someone you pass on the street? How hard is it to compliment the clerk who waits on you on her earrings or hairdo?
And gentleness…too often our society today favors aggressiveness and a “get-it-done” attitude. Christ was as gentle as anyone who walked this earth, and he said, “The meek (gentle) shall inherit the earth.” It is easy to be gentle with babies and children, but we Senior Citizens appreciate gentleness even more. Be gentle and be kind. It’s easy, doesn’t take much effort, and the blessing you will receive in return for them is abundant.

May 7th at 2:00 p.m.

This talented local short story writer and writing teacher will read from and discuss her new novel at Rae’s Reads. Refreshments will be served as Catherine signs and sells her book.

COME AND BRING A FRIEND!

IN HONOR OF OUR RAINY WEEKEND
Pitter, patter, plunk, SPLAT
No birds in view, mused the cat
The sky turned from blue to grey
And raindrops massive, all the day
Children play inside, darn it, SCAT

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL POETRY MONTH THIS APRIL?
Here are some suggestions:

DO SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE!

Reason #3 why you shouldn’t boast about your own exploits – sooner or later some smart-mouthed lord will declare your feats are impossible. Which always leads to major trouble…

Castellan the Black, mighty dragon warrior, or Casta the Grey as he used to be known as, features in my short story Picky Eaters, written to provide a humorous escape from all the stuff that isn’t happening on Wyvern Peak… All proceeds for the duration of its publishing life are donated to mental health charities.
Ideally you should be prepared to eat everything you kill. Though there are exceptions, like dwarves, for instance. Far more of them deserve a good flaming than you can comfortably cram into your larder.
