Okay, So I have spent the last few weeks getting myself registered for college and starting up my Master's program AND getting Corbin all signed up for Kindergarten and I would just like to say that I think Kindergarten was a lot more difficult! What is up with all of this paperwork. I had to make more phone calls and run around tracking down more information than I ever had to for college! Seriously, the deed to your house? No one should care that much where you live that you have to provide that kind of evidence! I promise, no elementary school is that amazing... Not to mention, a birth certificate! All they should need to know is... He is standing right here, I live right over there, He's 5, I have a social security number for him, and he's mine AND I AM PAYING FOR HIM TO BE HERE!!! Honestly!

Ever since Travis was a little boy he always went with his family to St. George. I remember going to St.George a couple of times when I was little and then when I was a teenager it seemed like the thing that everyone did for spring break! The streets would be lined with kids. Now, however, it is much more diserted - which makes it nice for families. So we decided to keep up Travis's tradition and head back down there with just our family! We had a great time!
I think the highlight of the trip, other than swimming, was going into the Mongolian BBQ place and having about 6 employees surround our table just to help us get seated and make sure everything was okay...It was cracking us up, these ladies were helping put our kids in the high chairs, they were feeding them crackers, they were giving them balloons...and we couldn't understand a word they were saying! But it was good food!!
We had a lot of fun at Corbin's Birthday this year! He loves pretending like he is a super hero, I think every present he was given had something to do with make believe and super hero's! Our aunt Carol also gave him a gift card for Toys R Us and just when I thought he couldn't possibly get one more thing he comes home with this...
It is HUGE! but he loves it, so I guess I will just have to get use to it!
Happy Birthday Ralphy!

So this was my response when I recieved a text message from my neighbor Julie that said, "Hey, Logan told Emily that Corbin Pee's under his stairs in the basement so that he doesn't have to take a break from playing!" WHAT!! Are you kidding me? So, then I start thinking... No way, this can't be for real. They are boys, they must have been joking around and Corbin said something like that, but he would never really DO IT! (RIGHT?)
Then I get home and decide to check it out...wouldn't you know it...it's true!!! I told Travis and he walked down and says "I thought that our house was leaking or something and I have been trying to figure out where the water was coming from." (Little did he know THE WATER WAS COMING FROM HIS SON'S PEEP!)
Yeah, I was furious... Corbin was sent to his room for the night...no for the week!
And then comes Family night, and I am in charge. I start reading the story about some girl that needs to "stand uprightly" and I start relating it to making good choices and how we stand taller when we make good choices...and then I read the story outloud...and wouldn't you know it, it ends with the idea that everyone makes mistakes and it is okay as long as you try your hardest to do what is right... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I am learning a lesson on being a better mom and not freaking out on my kid! RIDICULOUS!

For the last couple of weeks I have been working on getting ready for Corbin's 5th birthday. (I know, I can't believe it either!) I am doing it with my neighbor, and one of corbin's best friend's mom's. My concern comes when all my son can talk about is that he wants to be Darth Maul... yeah, you know that evil guy with the horns that FREAKS ME OUT! I keep trying to talk to him out of it, but nothing is working! anyways, here is our fun birthday invitation...
I will post more of the party later...

On President's Day Travis and I decided to take Corbin skiing for his first time. Lucky for us, my dad also came and saved the day with the edgie wedgie!
after a few trips down the bunny hill and up the magic carpet Corbin was ready for the "Big Hill." We took him over and after the first run down, which went a little slow, he seemed to get the hang of it. Before we knew it, he was making it down the hill before either of us! Then, we got a little carried away- we took him on the actual "big hill" and that wore him out. At one point he was going down the face of the mountain sitting on his skiis and flying past all of the other skiers. Travis had to rush down to try to catch him, but it did get them down the hill fast. After lunch corbin and I took a break so my dad and Travis could really enjoy the slopes. When they were done I was surprised to hear Corbin say, "I want to go again!" So Travis took him for one last run and Corbin did the entire thing without falling once! He did a great job!!
