I heard about this trilogy around the time Leigh Bardugo’s new book Six of Crows was just coming out. The question on everyone’s lips was: Do I need to read the Grisha Trilogy before this book? That’s when it came into my radar. What I found surprising was that not many people seemed to like these books, which left me wondering why everyone was going crazy for Six of Crows then. In the end, since the answer was, “no, you don’t need to read it.”, I finished Six of Crows and loved it so much that I really wanted to read the Grisha Trilogy, if only because there were many references I didn’t understand. I had sort of been putting it off because of the negative reviews, but I finally picked it up and frankly… I quite like it.
