Hey everyone! So I missed mommy Monday, but today was a terrific Tuesday! Coming off a three day weekend work went by fast and then I got to come home to my family!
When I got home Brad was cleaning out the car to take to the dealership- I traded it, and my Yukon, in on a '06 Dodge Mega Cab that looks a lot like Brads truck ( only prettier)! Of course I couldn't actually turn in the car since Brad was still driving it! I am so excited about my new truck!
Isaac was still napping when I got home, which meant I got some time to spend with Abigail. She is getting so stinking big! At 7 1/2 mos she is in 9-12 mos clothing, rolling all over the house and finally starting to eat some big girl foods! Today we tried carrots, she seemed to like those just fine- but some times she still forgets that she has to open her mouth to eat! Though she found it absolutely hilarious when I made the airplane spoon fly into her mouth!
She has also learned to clap- it is so cute now she just sits around and proudly claps her hands!
As some of you know we have had a ton of water this year- way more than normal and tons more than we need! Our field has been under water for weeks- and I am not talking about the field that is normally under water! But I guess I should not complain, while I think our first cutting has been lost- at least this is not my house!
This is a house in LaGrande no where near the river at all! No one expected it, but near as they can figure it funneled right down the mountain and to the streets of town! Poor people!
And this is the dam that Dad spent all day Sunday building to try and keep the water out of this grass pasture.
And this is what it looks like when you spend all day building a dam to try and keep all the water in the valley ( well at least our side of the valley) from flowing through your land and that dam breaks...
And no they do not usually have lakeside property! Right now we can laugh about it, but realistically the water keeps flooding and two fields over- where it is draining from Ladd Marsh towards the house- it is still cascading over the road towards them like a river! Should be interesting to watch. So I will try to keep everyone updated!
