The Epilogue

So I recognize not many teen moms get the same kind of happy ending that Sookie’s getting in this story. It’s a shame, too. Being a parent is difficult at any age, but I imagine it’s even more difficult when you’re a teenager and still trying to figure out how to be an adult. So to any teen moms who might be reading this story, I personally give you serious props because I couldn’t imagine having been in your shoes when I was a teenager. I couldn’t imagine being there now and I’m 32.

I still plan on finishing Just A Little Heat (I’ve started chapter 30 of it) but I don’t know when it’ll get done. I might even go back and take a look at Closer to see if I can get that resolved since I never meant for it to be very long when I pitched the idea to Scribe.

Thank you all so much for sticking with us and leaving us all the reviews over the years. I can’t speak for Scribe anymore but I feel confident in saying that I’m sure she appreciates it all as well. For me, personally, this was one of the most satisfying stories to write and I’m glad that it touched a few nerves.

Thank you so much for reading!

17: The Epilogue

DONE. Chapter 16

Yeah it’s been a bumpy road
Roller coasters
High and low
Fill the tank and drive the car
Pedal fast, pedal hard
You won’t have to go that far

You wanna give up ’cause it’s dark
We’re really not that far apart
So let your heart, sweet heart
Be your compass when you’re lost
And you should follow it wherever it may go
When it’s all said and done
You can walk instead of run
‘Cause no matter what you’ll never be alone

Chapter 16: Compass

Just A Little Heat Update!

I bet you all thought you’d never see more of this story, didn’t you? Well, I told you all I wanted to finish it and I meant it. So today I managed to write a whole chapter of it all on my own. Progress! It’s kinda ridiculous how little story there is left to write for this, it’s just been a matter of getting the words to come to me. It’s hard to explain if you’re never worn the writer hat, but suffice it to say, it’s been a struggle. Maybe Halloween has provided me with good motivation. I think learning how the show ended killed my writing boner for this story for a few weeks.

Regardless of all that, I have another chapter in the bank that gets us one closer to the finish line. This one I co-wrote with Scribe about a year ago. Crazy that it’s been that long. And might I say that the Lafayette/Willa/Truman exchange in this chapter might just be one of the funniest/weirdest things I’ve ever written in my life.

Anyway, here it is…

Chapter 27: Begin the End

DONE.

So this is the last complete story for the Brainmates. Enjoy!
