Schattig. Zacht. Geweldig!

 It's almost regal, and fluffy.

 Hij is zo zacht, bijna koninklijk!

 Weet je wel hoe groot hij is?? 80 x 193 cm!!

 Any idea how big it is?? 31,5" x 76" ....

 All lace, every row. Like it should be...

 Helemaal in kantpatroon. Elke rij. Zoals het hoort....

Needles: 3,5 and 3,75mm / US4 and US5 (both!)
Yardage: 1200m or 1320y but preferably more. I was left with only inches.
Weight: 120gr / 4,2 ounces

L.C. in Danmark will be very happy, I hope, with this luxurious shawl.

Ik zit effe met mijn neus in Japan, zoals ik al eerder schreef. Vandaag kwam daar nog iets leuks bij... Wie kent Gwen Stefani niet, met haar achtergrond zangeressen/vriendinnen? Die heten "Harajuku girls". Harajuku is een wijk/gebied in Tokyo en daar lopen vaak jongeren rond met nogal opvallende kledij. Erg westers georiënteerd, Victoriaanse kledij en leuke gadgets. Ik kan het niet eens áán, al zou ik het willen! Nou wil het dat ik vandaag in Bilthoven was en tijd had om naar de nederlandse winkel met alléén maar Harajuku kleding en gadgets te gaan. Het zag er zo mooi uit, prachtige kwaliteit, en zoo verschrikkelijk meisje. Helaas heb ik niets gekocht, mijn budget is gereserveerd voor de Stitch 'n Bitch...
Ondertussen heb ik bij de Kralenkraam een paar kralen besteld voor de handschoentjes die we gaan dragen bij de SnB dag. Ik heb een mooie groene mohair uitgekozen en (helaas) onopvallende kraaltjes. Ze hadden wel een slagje groter gekund. Het schiet dus niet erg op, maar wel grappig. Hier een plaatje van haar blog, zij heeft ze al af.

I'm deep into Japan, it's so diverse. Today I was able to go to a Harajuku store in Bilthoven. Just happened to be in the neighbourhood. You could recognize them for example as the background singers/friends of Gwen Stefani. I couldn't wear it, even if I wanted too. But it's beautifully made, good quality and só girly! I didn't buy anything, saving my budget for the SnB day.
In the meantime I started knitting on mittens for the SnB, although the beads are almost invisible. Here's a picture, she already finished them.

Tas

Ik leef me vaak helemaal uit op Flickr Photo's. Er is zo veel te zien. Ik ga los op japanse zaken: tassen, amigurumi, speldenkussens etc.
Zo vond ik ook een tas gemaakt van vierkante lapjes. Helemaal niet mijn kleur. Maar wel een goed idee. Ik had van de zomer in Utrecht al lapjes gekocht, voorgeknipt en al met rozen in allerhande kleuren. Ik heb er geen patroon van, maar met logisch nadenken kom je al een heel eind.
Bovendien heb ik nu zo'n tijd gebreid, ik wilde even achter de naaimachine. Met dit als resultaat. En... ik heb nu meteen de opdracht voor Angsoka voor September af...

The Photo site on Flickr is defenitly one of my favorites. I spend a lot of time there, watching a lot af Japanese Arts and Crafts. So, once I saw a bag I did like, but not my colour. But a good pattern with squares. I don't have a pattern but with some logic thinking this was the result....

And after all that knitting I wanted to make something on my sewing machine. By the way, this is my entry for september on 12 Accessoires...

Edit: ik heb de tas aangepast. De rode flapjes met de knoop er op, zitten nu van binnen naar buiten. Het ziet er net wat beter uit, en de tas gaat nu beter dicht.
I've made a change in this bag: the red flaps are flipped back for a better fit.

Makin' it!

Ik heb een klein naaldentasje gemaakt van de japanse stof die ik van de week gekocht had. De ronde flapjes zijn met 2 zijdig plakvlies gestreken, en niet afgewerkt. Het midden is uit een stuk, gevuld met fiberfill en doorgestikt om makkelijker te vouwen.
I've made a little needle bag. The fabric is japanese, the filling is fiberfill only in the center part. The round flaps are just 2 fabrics glue-ed together with a layer of ironing fiber (???) and not sown. Hier onder nog een foto van de Rowan Kidsilk aura die ik ook had gekocht. Erg donkergroen, precies mijn kleur. De aura is 5/10 dikte, de Haze is 10/10 en dus dunner. Er zit minder op de bol en ik ben begonnen met een sjaal in Ostrich patroon. Bijna het zelfde als Feather and Fan, maar dan afwisselend.
Below a picture of the Rowan Kidsilk aura I bought. The aura is a bit thicker than the Haze, and was just my colour. Very dark green. I've started the Ostrich pattern with it, to knit a scarf.


Ostrich Plumes Pattern:
R1: *( s1, k1, psso) times 2, s1, k2, p2sso, (s1, k1, psso) times 2, (yo, k1) times 5, yo *repeat.
R2: purl all
R3: knit all
R4: purl all
Repeat R1-4 4 times then:
R17: * k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, (s1, k1, psso) times 2, (s1, k2, p2sso), (s1, k1, psso) times 2, yo, k1, yo * repeat.
R18: purl all
R19: knit all
R20: purl all
Repeat 17-20 4 times
Then repeat R 1-4 4 times and then R17-20 4 times untill desired lenght is reached.
Pay attention to the fact that the (s1, k2, p2sso) is always above the previous (s1, k2, p2sso).
That means that at the beginning of the row you have to count to see at which stitch you're at.
