Marriage Equality In Brazil Crosses 100 Million Threshold

Progress for marriage equality in Brazil is increasing rapidly, as word comes that the tally is now 13 of 26 states (and the federal district) allow same-sex couples to marry legally, instead of going through an annoying two-step process of getting a civil union and then having a local judge rule that the civil union must be recognized as a marriage, which is the state of the law thanks to a 2011 ruling by the Brazil high court.

Freedom to Marry summarized the current marriage equality state of play in Brazil:

Since 2011, federal marriage laws in Brazil have been somewhat confusing; on May 5, 2011, the Supreme Federal Court voted to allow same-sex couples nationwide many of the legal rights as married couples (through a mechanism called "stable union"), and since June 2011, same-sex couples joined together in "stable union" may petition judges to convert their union into a marriage. The two-step process to being married can be performed across Brazil, but now many jurisdictions have ordered a final end to the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage. 

In these states (and the federal district), couples can marry in Brazil without the two-step process: Alagoas (December 2011), Sergipe (July 2012), Espíritu Santo (August 2012), Bahía (November 2012), the Brazilian Federal District (December 2012), Piauí (December 2012), São Paulo (December 2012), Ceará (March 2013), Paraná (March 2013), Mato Grosso do Sul (April 2013), Rio de Janeiro (April 2013), Rondônia (April 2013), and now Paraíba and Santa Catarina (April 2013). 

Now, nearly 60% of the population of Brazil live in states where same-sex couples can marry without the two-step process.

As I mentioned when I blogged about Rio de Janeiro enacting marriage equality last week,  population of Brazil is nearly 200 million people, so 60% means that there are way more than 100 million people who have access to marriage equality in Brazil, which is probably the most anywhere in the world!

Eye Candy: Gui Costa

Gui Costa is a Brazilian model (and photographer!) that I found at Male Model scene. He has his own Tumblr website, http://slimanizing.tumblr.com/ where he has a large number of images featuring his slim, taut frame and handsome face.

What's curious is that even though there are literally scores of pictures of him all over the internet I have been unable to find basic information about Gui like his age, height and weight, which is usually the bare minimum I like to have for an Eye Candy model. But, since diligent readers will be aware of my weakness for Brazilian men, you can understand why I am making an exception for Gui!

Eye Candy: Gabriel from MundoMais (reprise)

Here is another appearance at Eye Candy by Brazilian model hot Gabriel from MundoMais, with these pictures focusing on his best asset, which in my opinion is his eyes and smile. His first appearance (May 28, 2012) showed us more skin but these pictures also demonstrate Gabriel's innate beauty, I think.

Xandy from MundoMais first appeared as Eye Candy on June 18, 2012. He is from Sao Paulo, Brazil and is one of the many models from that country who have appeared on this blog. I am pretty confident he will not be the last!

I love me some Brazilian eye candy! The best source is MundoMais.com.br, where I have previously found Gabriel Carioca, Filipe and Flavio and now I have discovered Xandy! According to the website, Xandy is 27 years old and lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Eye Candy: Gabriel "Carioca" from MundoMais

Gabriel is another model I found at the Brazilian website, MundoMais. Previous MundoMais finds are Filipe and Flavio. According to MundoMais his name is Gabriel Carioca, but I think that means "Gabriel from Rio" in Portuguese. The website says he is 25-years-old and  that's about all the information I can find on him. I still think he's more than handsome enough to qualify as Eye Candy, since I have said many times, "hawt is hawt" and I have a thing for Brazilian guys anyway. :)

Eye Candy: Flavio from MundoMais (bis!)

Flavio from MundoMais has appeared as Eye Candy here before, on November 14, 2011. He should not be confused with Filipe from MundoMais,who has also appeared as Eye Candy, on January 23, 2012 and October 24, 2011. Both Filipe and Flavio are hot Brazilian guys who have lots of pictures on the   MundoMais website, some sans vêtements or sem roupa.

I usually like to have full information (name, age and basic measurements) of the models I display here, but I made an exception for these two hot Blatino studs!

Eye Candy: Flavio from MundoMais

I've previously introduced you to Filipe from MundoMais. Here is another MundoMais model, he is listed as Flavio. The site says that Flavio is 26 years old 1.89m and 95kg (that's 6 feet 2 inches and 209 pounds). That's a big hunk of Brazilian meat!

Glad I'm not vegetarian....
