happy new year

We are having the craziest weather here in Minnesota and New Years Eve was a night to just stay home and enjoy time with the family.

I have a couple cards to share that I made and the first one uses an adorable image by Hannah Boyd and can be found here all sales of this image will be donated to the March of Dimes.

This card was inspired by this weeks sketch over at Techno Stamper and I used BasicGrey paper from the "Olivia" collection along with a couple of Bazzil papers and the swiss dots embossing folder.

My next card is for this weeks challenge at cardabilities sketch #18. For this card I used papers by October Afternoon and the chipboard snowflake is from Cosmo Cricket. An easy sketch which is my favorite kind.

Enjoy!

It is new release day over at A Day for Daisies and Tammy has some wonderful new images for us. This release makes me wish it were the beginning of summer here in Minnesota instead of the beginning of Winter.

I created a card for this release using the image called "three friends" and my papers are from October Afternoon "Seaside" collection. The sentiment was computer generated.

All of the new releases can be found here in the just picked area of the store.

a gaggle of geese

It is Christmas Eve day and I have a couple cards to show you that feature this weeks new releases over at A Day for Daisies. I used the "four baby geese" image for my cards. Yep, you read that right I have two cards to share with you since I could not decide which one I liked better.

I added the sentiment  to the image before I printed it out and then just colored the ducks in and added some glossy accents to them.

This next card I colored in the ducks and then fussy cut them out and attached them over my handmade wrinkle ribbon with foam dots. I used a Sizzix embossing folder and some Cosmo Cricket "tiny type stickers" and turned this one into a baby card.

And here are all four of today's new releases. Aren't they all just adorable.

I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas.
Enjoy!

finally...something other than a holiday card

Finally I have a few cards to share with you and not a one of them is a Christmas or Winter themed card.

This first card is for this weeks Sketch 95 at Card Patterns and I have used  a fun image by Hannah Boyd called "max". Along with that fun image I have used papers by BasicGrey called "max and whiskers".

My next card is for the Verve week 3 challenge and for this card I have used another line of BasicGrey papers called "marjolaine". I added a SU butterfly and some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon in kiwi lime. (my favorite color)

My last card is for a sketch challenge by Amy Heller over at Paush Designs. And I have again used papers by BasicGrey from the "archaic" collection. The stamp image is from an old CTMH stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by to look and please leave me a comment and let me know what your plans are for the holidays. I will be back tomorrow with a card using the latest release over at A Day for Daisies.

Enjoy!

I have a quick card to share with you today for the newest challenge over at Sasya's Sketches.

For my card I used some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon along with a doily from SEI, feltie bloom from Pebblesinc., and my all time favorite Cuttlebug embossing folder.

My clean and simple card was inspired by this sketch. I definitely am a fan of CAS sketches.

I hope you will take time to play with us during this busy time of year.

365 cards sketch sunday

I made a couple of cards last night while watching a Christmas movie. Two of them will be shown to you the end of this week for New Release day over at "A Day for Daisies", but I do have one to share with you today.

I made this card for last Sunday's sketch over at 365 Cards.

When I originally created this card I did not alter the sketch and rotate the card, but right before I photographed it I decided to add a sentiment and that is when it happened. The rebel in me came out and I flipped it. Must have something to do with Rose or Gloria and how they always would flip the sketches or alter them.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card. I used BasicGrey "marjolaine" papers and my handmade wrinkle ribbon on the card.

Monday ~

It is Monday and we are hunkering down for another winter storm here in Minnesota. Word is we are supposed to get 6 - 8 inches of snow. This is one of those times I am hoping the weatherman is wrong. We don't have anywhere left to put snow here at my house.

I have a card for you this morning that I made using my October Afternoon "modern homemaker" papers, some PTI rolled rosed and my handmade wrinkle ribbon. This card came together nice and fast.

The inspiration for my card came from this weeks sketch challenge CPS198 over at Card Positioning Systems.

Thanks for stopping by. I am off to run a couple errands this morning and then get back before the snow comes.
Enjoy!

happy ~ FTL121

I have a quick post for you and then I need to get back to making some "microwave peanut brittle". I was blurfing yesterday and found this great recipe and video and now I can't remember who's blog I was at. I want to say it was Jayne but I won't bet my life on it.

Here is a card I created for this weeks sketch over at Clean and Simple Stamping. This was a wonderful sketch to work with.

For my card I used a Neenah natural white card stock for the base and then added paper and embellishments by Lilybee from the "Christmas Town" paper collection. I had never seen these papers before and got them from Julie Bonner as an added bonus to some blog candy that I won. Wonderful vintage looking papers and I don't think they look too Christmasy which is what I like best about them.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

tinsel and tags

Happy Friday! Today is a double treat over at A Day For Daisies because not only is it a New Release Friday it is also time for Challenge #8.

This weeks challenge is called "Tinsel and Tags" nothing better than tags and a little sparkle during the holiday season! Lets use both to make a festive card for this happy time of year!

I opted to create a tag to be added to a gift bag or present instead of a card. Don't you just love that digital image? It is called "my doggie" and is one of this weeks new releases.

Here is a photo of all this weeks new releases.

I hope you will find some time this week to play along with us as I would love to see what you create with our challenge.

ho ho ho ~ tis the season

I know I keep saying that I am done making Christmas cards, but sometimes I can't help myself. So while catching up on my Hulu TV programs I created a couple of cards to share with you.

This first card is for Laurel's challenge to use this image that she provided on a card.

This was such a wonderful vintage image that I couldn't help but play along. I added some ranger distress stickles to the branches of the tree to make it look like snow and added a little glossy accents and glitter to the ornament.  A couple of pine cones and my Martha Stewart pine branch mixed with BasicGrey "jovial" and Cosmo Cricket tiny type stickers completed the card.

The inspiration for my card came from this weeks sketch over at Card Patterns.

My next card is for this weeks challenge over at CPS and it too is a Clean and Simple card. I used a couple of Sizzix embossing folders along with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch. The sentiment is by PTI.

Here is the sketch I used for my inspiration.

Okay, I am off to finish making some Christmas card boxes that I will be giving to my Sister-in-Laws for Christmas along with an assortment of cards.

Enjoy!

reading

Nothing better than your blankie and a good book on a cold winter day.

Enjoy!

wishing you ~ ss41

It is Wednesday and time for another sketch challenge over at Sasya's Sketches. This weeks sketch is a fun one as it is a shaped card or at least that is how I made mine.

For my card I used papers from the BasicGrey "Curio" collection which happens to be my current favorite non-holiday paper collection.

I created my card using spellbinders dies along with some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon, a rolled rose, Martha Stewart leaf punch and the sentiment is from PTI.

I hope you will find some time to play along with us. In the meantime I hope you are staying warm.
Enjoy!

digging out ~ WMSC27 and FTL120

Yes, we are still digging out from all the snow that we received over the weekend. The plows finally came through late yesterday.

I have a couple cards to share with you today and the first one uses some of that fabulous new paper and embellishments from October Afternoon called "Modern Homemaker".

I just love the colors in this line of papers and I was inspired by the sketch over at Waltzing Mouse. Such a fun and simple sketch.

My next card is a fun Winter one (notice I didn't say Christmas) that I made using this weeks sketch over at Clean and Simple. For this card I used papers from BoBunny's "midnight frost" collection. I did a little embossing and added some of my wrinkle ribbon and a Martha Stewart snowflake.

Enjoy!

~ celebrate ~ ess111

I have a fun card to share with you today using a new digital image (Maggie) created by Lori Boyd's 14 year old daughter Hannah. Her new line of digital images is called Bug and Roo Stamps and can be found here.

I hope you will stop over and look at all of Hannah's images as well as the inspiration behind one of her images and how she is donating all the money raised to a good cause.

The inspiration for my card comes from this sketch over at Eat Sleep Stamp. I used papers from October Afternoon "Modern Homemaker" and tiny type stickers from Cosmo Cricket.

I wanted to share a few photos of the storm we are having today.

Enjoy! (I know I am not)

oh baby

Friday, and that means time for a new release from Tammy over at A Day For Daisies this weeks release is all about Baby.

I got to use the fun bib set and I just have to say "I LOVE IT"!

I know I only needed to make one card for the new release party...but I just could not stop. I created these three individual baby cards as well with some of the leftover images I had printed. My little gift cards are 3x3 just perfect to attach to a package or attach to a gift bag.

Here is a look at all the new releases for today available at A Day For Daisies.

Enjoy!
