Yes, the title says what it says. After much contemplation, it is with great reluctance and regret that I have finally decided to call for a very, very, veeery long hiatus from Anime episodic blogging and may eventually consider a permanent retirement from it. I’ve been mulling a long time about it and as much as I hate to admit it, I just don’t have the time, energy and brain cells to keep up with blogging Anime regularly anymore, which is all too evident from the way things are going in this blog. For better or worse, my new role in my company requires me to travel frequently for business so I pretty much don’t have the same luxury I used to in coming home after work at the end of every evening and treating myself to a couple of shows for a nice wind-down. I do wish I don’t have to give this up because I love talking and typing about Anime. It’s one of the main reasons I started blogging seven years ago aside from the pathetic excuse of trying to improve my English to help me get through university (>.>). I suppose I could wring out a little time to publish concise posts but unfortunately I have a very bad habit of rambling too much for my own good to get any review done in a punctual manner. It’s not a feasible practice to have for dishing out posts on a weekly basis and it’s not fair to the readers to have to wait for them. So with that, it’s no more Anime blogging for me. Not until my working life has settled down. But who knows… I may take it up again one of these days; most likely days when I feel like bashing J.C.Staff (Those who follow my To Aru posts would know what I mean). I’ll still try my best to blog the Railgun manga though since its installments are released on a monthly cycle which makes the time frame more flexible. Then again, that would hinge on whether I can find something to comment about in each chapter so I can’t guarantee if there’ll be a post every month.
As for the part about me “moving back onto a once trodden path”… It’s just my self-centered wish of wanting to take this blog into a rather different but familiar direction. I may not be reviewing Anime in depth anymore but I will be filling this blog with a related topic from now on and that is…seiyuu. If you’ve read my “About” page or seen my shameful escapades elsewhere in the web, you’d know my biggest interest revolves around seiyuu. The subject has been eating away at my life for the past decade or so anyway. However, before you start assuming about what I know, allow me to take the initiative to affirm that I am NO expert on the matter. If anything, I’m merely a casual greenhorn who happens to love following the happenings that go on in that business. I’ve been contributing reviews of seiyuu radio and TV shows to a private tumble log for the past few years, and I’ll be copy-pasting some of them here as a feeble attempt to keep my blog half-alive. Why not just make that tumble log public, you ask? Well… First off, that log as a whole doesn’t belong to me and secondly, the old stuffs I posted in there are too embarrassing for me to share with the wider audience (Retarded fangirling FTW). So yeah, expect upcoming posts here to be HEAVILY edited of course. As to what shows I review, it depends on which seiyuu I usually follow – Imai Asami, Numakura Manami, Hara Yumi, Itou Shizuka, Nakamura Eriko, Kitamura Eri, Harada Hitomi, Hikasa Youko, Hanazawa Kana and Sakura Ayane (Yes, I LOVE WEIRDOS so sue me :p). As you can probably tell from some of my previous posts, I keep up with the iM@S radio and TV shows religiously so you’ll be seeing most of those here. The others will be the odd episodes from miscellaneous shows which I found interesting enough to type a review on. Oh and one more thing… When I talk about seiyuu, I have a dumb tendency to exaggerate so if you see mindless gibberish such as “OMG KYAAA SHIZU × NABA YURI YURI~!!!! (*´Д `*)ハァハァ”, digest it with a giant grain of salt and don’t believe what I said is true. Like in Anime, manga etc. treat ALL of them as fanservice and nothing more (Um…okay, most of them).
Besides the aforementioned, I think I’ll try to slip in some live event reports now and then so perhaps a couple of them may show up here…er…assuming I’m not too exhausted or brain-dead to note down anything after the event that is, which I am like, 99% of the time. orz
Last but not least, I just made my Twitter public so feel free to follow if you’re interested! Although I mostly spew unintelligible garbage there so do follow at your own discretion. We also have a seiyuu stalking media sharing community going on over at Soup so do check it out if you’d like.
And that’s it for my announcement! See you around! く( ̄△ ̄)
