Healing Verses

Recently an old friend from college shared with me that her little baby boy has leukemia. I went to see them recently and my heart just broke for them as anyone can imagine. But the one thing that I was so thankful for was the fact that because he is so little, he did not sit with a heavy heart as you might expect from an adult who is worried about the future. He sat laughing and smiling and wanting to play even with all of the sores in his mouth and lack of energy from the chemo. I told my friend that it is a blessing he does not really understand what is going on and that he wakes each morning thinking that it is just another ordinary day. My friend cleaned his chemo port and he sat ever so patiently and aided his mother in the cleaning process. The strength in that little boy reminded me that I am to not only be thankful for every day we have but also that even during times of such hardship, God is really by our side.

It was hard to believe that something would happen to such a blessed family. They are humble, hard-working, God-fearing people that always has such a glow about them that it is contagious when you meet with them. Will you all join me as women of God and pray for this family daily until there is a breakthrough from the disease? Can you pray that their financial burdens will not be too much to bear? Would you pray especially that they would not believe the lies of the enemy especially during the hardest of times? I got this from a book that I am doing right now as a study, “Satan is a powerful enemy. His primary weapon is deception. His lies are powerful. But there is something even more powerful than Satan’s lies and that is the Truth.” (Lies Women Believe by Nancy Leigh De Moss) Let’s pray that this family always remembers the truth that He does not wish for us to be in pain, He does not wish for us to be ill……….
