HEADING HOME, OIL Daily Painting, 4x12"

One of the many reasons I live in Florida is the abundance of beautiful water scenes that become a part of your everyday life.  How can you have a bad day when you glance out the window of your car and find nature in all it's glory there waiting for you to appreciate.

This time of the year, I don't want to be inside.  The weather is perfect, the days are glorious and I just want to sit back and be thankful for such blessings.

As a little holiday gift to my blog readers, who bring so much joy to my life year round, I am offering you and only you, a 10% discount on any painting through the end of the year.  Just contact me direct, or through Etsy and mention this discount and I will do a special discounted listing on the painting of your choice.

ISLANDS IN THE STREAM II,SOLD ABSTRACT OIL 6X8

Have I been dreaming of tropical beaches?  Sunny days? Turquoise waters??  Yes, I think so.  Summer seems to have come early here in Florida, and even those of us who live in warm climates dream of exotic Caribbean Islands.

Etsy has some of the most unique items around, all hand-made or vintage.  This is an example of a clever button necklace from ThatOldBlueHouse2.   Check out their site for other interesting jewelry too, including pieces made with vintage lace or quilts.

ISLANDS IN THE STREAM, 6X8, OIL, SOLD

Yesterday we returned home from our first trip of the year to the mountains of North Carolina.  Didn't see any islands there, but in an effort to warm up, I have posted this abstract.

I have lots of unpacking and grocery shopping to do today.  I am trying to post and drink coffee at the same time.  Enjoy!

ISLAND TIME, 4X12, SOLD

Have you ever been to the islands?  I'm talkin' Bahamas or Abacos.  Both are delightful, and for the most part, unspoiled, pieces of paradise.  Things move slowly, for good reason, and it seems perfectly reasonable to accomplish nothing for long periods of time.

This is an edited view of Hope Town lighthouse in the Abacos.  I say edited, because the real lighthouse has red stripes, which seemed a little jarring for this scene.  To see the reference photo, check out IslandTimeInAbaco where Sam and Meakin were kind enough to allow me to use their image.  Sam also has another fun blog,
MyCarolinaKitchen where she posts the most incredible food.  YUM!
