Can You Guess Where We Went?

We saw the Statue of Liberty.

We went to the bottom of the ocean floor.

We traveled to Egypt.

Then we ventured to Paris.

We went in search of the “last shaker of salt.”

Rome was an exciting place to visit too.

Where can you go to see all of the things listed above in one city?

Friday Five

Today’s topic are the country songs that I am loving right now!!

1. Thompson Square’s, Are you Gonna Kiss me or Not? And I love it even more that I’ve seen the video. Listening to that song the first verse takes me back to when I was first dating and how nervous you both are. Who makes the move?

2. Garrett Hedlund from the Country Strong soundtrack, Timing Is Everything. The first time I heard that song I was just stunned. First by his soulful voice and then by the words.  Cause really Timing is Everything in life whether its good or bad. The line, “you can be hurt by love or healed by the same” is so very true! I had to listen to this song three times before I could move on to #3. I think I really like Garret because he’s an actor and not  career singer, but I have to say if that acting jig doesn’t work out I would be first in line to buy and album. Check out him and Leyton Meester’s song from the same soundtrack, Give Into Me. Actually any song with Garrett I am loving.

3. Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson’s Don’t You Want to Stay. Wow their voices together are awesome.  I’ve been a Jason Aldean fan for a long time and his song The Truth is probably his best song ever.

4.  Blake Shelton’s, Who Are You When I’m Not Looking. For some reason this song makes me giggle just a bit. Cause really none of us know how it is to live with someone until the boxes are unpacked. If TNT knew I knew before hand I hate making the bed would he have thought twice?  hahah too late buddy!

5. Jeannie C. Riley’s Harper Valley PTA. I love this song on so many levels.  Everyone is so quick to judge someone else’s actions, but not their own.  The funny thing is I saw my mother back one of the mothers of Mildred’s friends into a corner who was talking crap on her.  I will never forget it.  It was at a MAYB basketball tourney and the place got dead silent. lol

Sunday morning I made three dozen blueberry/raspberry/blackberry muffins to take to work. However, my dad, my sister and my inlaws all came out to the farm so I sent them home with muffins.  Nothing better than warming up a muffin and slathering it up with real butter. Yummy!

Home Home on the Range

I have no idea why, but everytime I see an antelope I start singing the state song of Kansas.

Where the deer and the antelope play.

Where seldom is heard, not a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day.

Home home on the range.

Winter Pickup

I’ve done the Summer and Fall picture of this old pickup so I had to do a winter one too.  I took this last week after we had our “big” snowstorm.

Fall

Summer

Once I get a Spring picture I’m going to get a frame that has places for all four of the pictures and I’ll give it to the junk yard this pickup belongs to.

Finally the weekend

Pioneer Woman did a post the other day about Shellac which is a new fingernail polish that lasts about 2 weeks.  Well for once I’m ahead of the  woman with the golden touch. 😉 I had the first appointment to get my nails Shellac’d back in January. It would have been wonderful except the day after I broke my middle nail on the icy hatch on my Terrain. I then had to clip the rest of the nails just as short cause they all have to be the same length. On Friday I had my second go at it and I am loving my french tips.  The salon I go to charges $12.50 and I think it is worth it.  I’m super hard on my nails so really any polish that lasts more then two days is great in my books.

On Thursday my friend called me asked if I could do Senior pictures for their foregin exchange student who had to turn in a picture for the yearbook the next day. Uhhhh. Luckily my Father in law was coming into town so he brought my camera. I didn’t have any locations scoped out and I was flying by my ponytail.  I think they turned out alright. The girl was not photogenic at all so it was a huge test on my part.

Mildred and I were tractor washing fools on Sunday. It was beautiful outside in the mid 60’s.

I was pole dancing on the scrubber brush. I def wouldn’t make any money if this was my profession.

If you look closely you can see Mildred through the front of the tractor window. Mildred didn’t know she was going to come to our farm and get put to work.  Oh well that’s farm life I guess.

TNT helping Mildred wash out the radiator.

Old House

I went over to the inlaws house the other night and I couldn’t drive by without taking a picture of this old house.

And without any editting.

As much as I hate the cold weather and snow it sure makes for some pretty pictures.

Poor Sanchez

I think Sanchez was not happy with the cold weather we had last week.

And then it doesn’t help that Tails sits at the patio door and you can just hear him laughing at poor Sanchez.
