I didn't think of taking snow pictures myself when we had some because honestly I didn't feel like going outside in the evening (except when I had to shovel and that really didn't put me in the mood for pictures).
When I went outside, most of the snow didn't look very pretty anymore. I should have tried to take a picture from my window, through the houses in direction of the woods, but being on the first floor the view isn't very good.
My sister took these pictures from her balcony (thank you!). Isn't it strange how you can feel and smell them?
So here's my humble (compared to so many others at the moment) offer of snow impressions days after we actually had snow. I hope it will convince the weather gods that we don't need any more of it.

How beautiful! We don’t usually have snow where I live, although on some occasions it has reached sea level in Barcelona. I find snow fascinating — I like the silence when it falls, and the color of the sky, which creates black-and-white images. But I prefer seeing it in the mountains or in calendars rather than stepping on it in the city. We are not very prepared for snow and ice, and this leads to infrastructure problems and broken bones. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteWe hardly have snow anymore, if we do, it goes away rather quickly. The north and center of Germany is usually hit harder and this winter it was really bad. As you said, infrastructure and broken bones. I think icicles are beautiful to look at, but walking on ice, ugh. I was always an expert at hitting the smallest bit of ice and falling! Luckily, I never got hurt.
DeletePretty from a distance!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more.
DeleteI love Winter and snow, and your photos are absolutely stunning...very calming, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'll tell my sister!
DeleteOh, I know you like snow about as much as Nancy, but you have to admit these photos are just stunning! I especially like the ones with the streetlights glowing. I suppose we will lose a lot of it this week as we are going to be above freezing...doggone it!

I always said snow in pictures is fine, but you wouldn't have wanted to hear me curse and moan when I was shoveling.
DeleteThis was around 6 p.m. in the evening, by the way.
That is a lot of snow! Stay warm.

This has been a few days ago and there are only little snow heaps left in backgardens, it seems.
DeleteWe were really lucky compared to other regions and also to other countries.
I really don't like snow and hope we dont get it for the rest of the winter here. lol.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both, Nancy, you and me both!
DeleteThose are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI think my sister captured the eerie mood very well, thank you!
DeleteOh wow, those pictures are beautiful! Your sister has a beautiful view with all that snow.
ReplyDeleteThank you in her name!
DeleteThis can be a very busy corner as there's a school nearby and - which you can't see - the "Stadthalle" (where they have concerts, plays, balls, fairs, etc.) with a park, so there's trees and flowers and some wildlife.
I love that there's no one in the street although it's only evening, it really adds to the mood!
Absolutely beautiful! I’m so glad your sister was willing to share these photos. And brrrrr……🥶🥶🥶
ReplyDeleteSo was I! I just love all the trees.
