Pet Blogger Challenge 2012

CHALLENGE QUESTIONS #2: FOR THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED LAST YEAR:

thanks to Edie Jarolim and Amy … for this opportunity…

1. Provide a link to your post from last year’s Pet Blogger Challenge so we can refresh our memories.

https://celiasue.wordpress.com/2011/01/10/pet-blogger-challenge/

2. What do you consider the most important goals you set out in last year’s post?

to write every day and have fun

3. Have you made progress toward those goals, or have your goals changed over the past year?

Definitely have gone beyond those goals… got more involved with pet blog hops, readership and subscription to my blog has increased, connected with other pet bloggers and the Patrick movement, No Kill community, and others… WOW…

Lots of Progress.

From 200+ a day to 300+ and in September more than 2,000 in one day… am approaching 300,000 views/visitors…

am thinking about various options… would like to do a magazine to be able to make an income from ads

am just in the process of writing for a huge network that I’ll be writing blog posts for, with 400,000+ fans… tons of opportunities opening up…

I learned how to do blog hops, videos, and all sorts of other cool things… yay…

and I even made progress on my writing blog and created another blog about spiritual growth… although I do not blog on those very frequently, I am pleased with what I have done… what do you think ?

http://celiasueink.wordpress.com/

4. Has your opinion of blogging on a schedule or as the spirit moves you changed? Which are you doing now? Do you still worry about lost traffic, momentum, etc?

I worry about my dog … I still write almost every day and sometimes more than once in a day depending on what is happening… at times, it is overwhelming the amount of news there is to write about … makes a HUGE difference being plugged into the various communities now

5. Are you generating income from your blog? Has this changed since last year?

not really… I do product reviews from time to time

If you are generating income, how (e.g. sponsor ads, affiliate relationships, spokesperson opportunities)?

If not currently, do you hope to in the future — and how?

if/when I move the blog to another platform (seems like a HUGE undertaking) then will be able to generate income and if/when I do a magazine… anyone else want to do?  takes a team, don’t want to do it on my own

6. Have your likes and dislikes about blogging changed since last year?

No one tells me what to write, how to write, when to write, etc. am my own boss… love that… and I just wrote for another network and had someone to answer to, and it made a difference in the writing, stepped it up a notch, so there is something to be said for that, working with a team, collaborating… they also made the blog post LOOK GOOD in ways that I did not envision, very very cool. (the blog post is not up yet, but I will let you know when it is)…

7. Overall, are you pleased with the progress you made in 2011?

delighted… much more than expected… but then I had low expectations to begin with…which I prefer… I find that when I don’t expect a lot, I get much more than when I expect a lot and get disappointed…

the cross country road trip did not happen and although I thought it was a good idea, realistically, don’t think I’m ready yet to do that…

8. How do you see your blog changing/growing in 2012?

with the huge influx of new visitors, readers and subscribers flowing over from the new network, the SKY is the limit… it shall truly be an amazing enchanted year of miracles.

My writing will be more succinct, funnier and on target and garner a book deal, a few book deals… ultimately, that is my goal, to write and publish books.

Someone on Facebook said I will be famous. I don’t really care about that… am more concerned about the prosperity and what I can do with my first million… get homes for lots of animals, change the doggie world, educate folks, all for the higher good… my bottomline is transforming this world into a better one… and one way to do that is to make folks laugh, lighten up, so watch out !!!!

press agent to the stars…

CeliaSue also gets press for authors and business owners to enhance their credibility and bottom-line. Me, I’m a dog so I sniff bottoms. Not so, with the two-legged human kind. Occasionally, I have to share the limelight. It’s a dog’s lot in life. If you want to become a star, just get noticed, get the word out or get the media attention you deserve…

If you’ve got a Shaggy Dog Tale to Tell (not me, I’ve got plenty of polka dot tales to tell) But the Cat’s Got Your Tongue (not me, I chase them up trees)…   CeliaSue can assist you in Getting Published/Promoted. No bones about it.  And I know because I am her Pup-Lick Relations Assistant and NO bones get by MY nose.

the Lost Dogs tells the story of the 51 pit bulls taken from Michael Vick’s dogfighting operation. It’s a tale of persistence and hope that shines a light on the human-canine bond and the power of compassion.

do you know the way to SEO top ranking heaven?

If your pet friendly business has a website, you need search engine optimization aka SEO to attract traffic. Every single day, people seek businesses like yours on Yahoo, Google, AOL and other search engines. They are looking for websites with the information that they need. They want to find your product or service. You can receive hundreds, thousands, even millions of clicks and views aka traffic and sales from keyword searches IF you have the correct keywords on your website in the right places and if your site is at the TOP of the search results. Let’s say one of your popular keywords is doggie daycare. To be number one, you gotta hire an SEO Expert.

But every dog and their mother claim they’re the top SEO experts of the Internet universe.  How many back up their claims with proof  ?  With SEO, you either get what you want, top ranking or you’re wasting your time, energy and money. SEO is not taught in school and it’s a complex subject so how do you know where to go and what to do?

You can find SEO experts who have experience, top ranking, are featured in national publications such as Enterpreneur and Inc and a great client list.  In other words, people who walk their talk. Experts who can get you quality inbound links, listed in directories, and much more.  At the top of the search results, life is something to woof about.

And if you would like to get featured in national publications such as Parent magazine like Linda Hecht a recent client of mine, and newspapers and blogs, let me know. Declare yourself a media top dog and you will get the gravy, treats and groovy new toys.  Just ask my girl Cici, she gets all the attention and treats she wants just by being a cute, lovable, sweet girl and by showing off her belly at the drop of a hat. She’s accessible and her adoring fans love her for her puppy kisses. You too can reap the rewards by learning how to write press releases that get published and promoting your business with top notch SEO and publicity.

example of a Best Friends fun raising letter asking for donations…

just received this email (and I get a few of them a month)… from Best Friends…  I only included ONE of the bunnies, Jasmine, but the letter highlighted three bunnies to sponsor… here’s my suggestion for animal rescue organizations who are raising donations: sign up for Best Friends newsletter and email alerts…  attend one of their seminars/workshops about starting and running an animal shelter, and follow their lead… and network, network, network… and please, if you need assistance to write email alerts, newsletters, donation letters, a blog, website copy, please contact me (see my About me page) or click on my links.  easter_header.jpg

Dear Members and Friends,

Easter. A time for bright-eyed children … bountiful baskets … and bunnies! But did you know that bunnies are popular all year long?

Bunnies are the third favorite housepet in America. Sadly, after cats and dogs, bunnies are also the #3 pet most commonly found in shelters. There, many face a too-soon end.

At The Best Friends Bunny House, things are different. Here, hundreds of “buns” live happily, for as long as they need.

But The Bunny House is two decades old … and urgently needs renovation. In short, the “buns” of Best Friends need a home makeover.

The cost to remodel is just over $100,000 – and we already have more than half. So, give what you can and together we can “raise the roof” on The Best Friends Bunny House. Here’s how.

This Easter, when you sponsor a homeless bunny as your gift to a friend or family member, your donation will go to rebuild The Best Friends Bunny House … keeping each “bun” that you sponsor cozy for years to come.

Sponsor Jasmine! Sponsor Tumbleweed! Sponsor Bogey!

easter_031108_06.jpg

So go ahead and sponsor an orphan bunny from Best Friends as your gift this Easter.

You’ll raise the roof on The Best Friends Bunny House … keep hundreds of buns safe and warm … and get many happy feelings in return.

Where else but Best Friends can an Easter gift do so much? Must be that bunny magic! Thank you for caring about all creatures … great and small.

And warm wishes for a Happy Spring,

easter_031108_13.jpg

P.S. There are lots more bunnies for you to sponsor on the Best Friends website, here. And if you liked the stories of Jasmine and her pals, I hope you’ll share with a friend.
