Books

Adalyn’s Clare is a heartwarming, adventure-filled story that draws attention to the realities of social anxiety and the need to help create meaningful relationships for children who have difficulty making friends in grade school – just like Adalyn.

Author Kari Dunn Buron developed an Autism Spectrum Disorders Certificate program for educators at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, and has done volunteer work specific to autism around the world.

Adalyn, a smart but lonely fourth grader, is not very good at finding human friends but loves animals and is a whiz at science. Her favorite place in the whole world is the science room where her “animal best friends” live. In fact, Adalyn knows details about animals and the places they inhabit that most of us would never know or remember.

Adalyn often finds people confusing and frustrating, which in turn causes her a great deal of worry and often gets her into trouble. Clare is a therapy puppy. When Clare gets assigned to help Adalyn calm her anxieties and help her find (human) friends, it seems like a tall order for a 3-month-old puppy. But Clare takes it in her stride. It’s during these times when Adalyn worries that Clare creeps up close and gently puts her chin on Adalyn’s foot to reassure her. Together they wait, silently and relaxed, until Adalyn’s nerves start to get smaller.  Recommended for young readers in grades 3-6.

Slow down, Fido… Cici scarfs up her food, she eats sooos fast, you’d think it was her last meal. Food gulping isn’t only a messy habit that’s difficult to break, but a behavior that can lead to vomiting, choking, bloat and digestive issues. Plus, eager eaters don’t realize how much they just ate, so they keep begging for between-meal treats that can quickly turn into extra pounds. Fortunately, now there’s an innovative way for pet parents to end this “feeding frenzy” by turning mealtime into a challenging, entertaining game.
The Company of Animals presents GREEN by NORTHMATE – an innovative “turf placemat” for pets that turns mealtime into a fun , stimulating game. Just scatter a handful of kibble or two across the deeply sculpted surface. Then it’s up to the dog or cat to seek out the food in the valleys between the simulated grass blades. Especially recommended for aggressive gulpers and pets on a restricted calorie diet , GREEN prolongs eating time, making meals healthier and more fun . And since this product is made of durable plastic that’s phthalate-free, it’s 100% pet and dishwasher safe.

Brewer’s yeast and garlic helps to repel fleas. You can give your doggie treats and bye bye bugs. This daily nutritional supplement helps support healthy blood sugar levels and can also be especially helpful during flea and tick season and during times of stress. Available in chewable tablets or tasty soft chews!  Cici LOVES them.

http://www.probioticsmart.com/pets/pscpets-brand.html.

Does your doggie have bad breath? PlaqClnz may be the answer. For fresh breath and good oral care, go to www.plaqclnz.com for more details.
Its zinc-based formula works to stop bad breath (a warning sign of deteriorating gum and teeth conditions) while it guards against the build-up of plaque and tarter. Most dogs 3+ years already have the signs.

Are your pets scratching up the house? Then SoftClaws nail caps for dogs and indoor cats could help. The caps mute scratching damage and avoids cat declawing…a big issue for cat parents.
See www.softclaws.net  for details, size and color selections. These were invented by a vet.
When you travel with your dog/cat, putting these on helps to avoid tearing up car upholstery, hotel furnishings, strangers’ clothing and more.

To apply, fill each vinyl nail cap with the adhesive that’s provided, then slide it on over your dog’s toenail. It stays on for 4-6 weeks.

Each low-cost nail kit comes with 40 nail caps, the adhesive that secures them onto your dog’s toenails, and simple instructions.

You can place them only on the front paws or on your dog’s front and back paws.

for the humans

Mighty Mug is great for pet parents and parents, people like me who are clumsy and spill everything. I LOVE IT. (only wish it came in PURPLE). This mug is amazing. powered by patented Smartgrip Technology which allows Mighty to resist tipping over and spilling that cup of tea, hot chocolate or coffee all over your pants (or even worse your computer). The best part about the Mighty Mug is that it knows the difference between an accidental knock and going in for a sip. If you can imagine a mug that won’t fall over even when punched but lifts naturally then you gotta try one for yourself, your favorite pet parent or computer geek coffee drinker.

Chia seeds bars

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these bars. Give the gift of CHIA this holiday season! these yummy bars are healthy, easy to bring with you to the dog park, traveling and/or to carry in your purse. Filled with Omega 3 and tasty… I love the ACAI BERRY and also the COCONUT bars. They also come in PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE flavor… great replacement to the high-sugar, empty-calorie-filled, non-nutrient providing candy all too often around the house during the holidays. They have only 100 calories and 5g of sugar per serving. And best of all, there are actual health BENEFITS to eating them: Chia provides six times more calcium than whole milk, six times more protein than soy, 15 times more magnesium than broccoli does, twice the fiber then bran flakes, and nearly nine times the amount of omega-3s found in salmon.

Biking With Your Dog

well, if you have arthritis in your knees, like I do, this is not gonna happen… but for those of you who are more able-bodied, enjoy !

I could see myself years ago, before the arthritis ice skating with cici… cici on ice… ice capades… slip slide… or how about skiing with your snow hound?  frankly, people who are so gym/exercise crazed/friendly that they would think of these activities are annoying…

stay home and snuggle with your dog on the couch, in front of a nice fireplace, that is what winter is for. fall, too… year round sport. no equipment required.

but I do have to admit that cici gets rather bored and yesterday she was a pest, she was playing tag with people as they walked by at the mall.  she got some attention and even played a bit with a tiny adorable puppy, chi-terrier mix… so to keep the dogs out of trouble does mean you have to tire them out. and the only way to tire them out is to exercise them. how about a stationary bike, cici would fall off for sure and I cannot imagine that she would know how to peddle. shucks.

http://www.aspca.org/adoption/adopt-a-shelter-dog-month/keeping-your-dog-active.html

http://dogs.net/pictures/dog-on-a-bike-chien-sur-velo-bangkok-thailand/

or you could teach your dog how to ride a motorcycle, sheesh…

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/pawprintpost/post/2010/01/dog-doesnt-chase-after-bike-he-rides-the-bike/1

below is info from trips with pets…

When you think about the activities that you can do with your dog, your list might look like this: walk, run, play fetch.  With such a short list, you probably cycle through these pretty quickly.  Why not shake things up a bit and introduce your dog to something new?  Fall is a wonderful time to ride your bike and the best part is that your dog can come with you.  It’s the perfect way to bond and reconnect with your pooch and enjoy that crisp air together.

Can Any Dog Bike?

It makes sense that a healthy dog that’s used to walking, running, or hiking is a great candidate for a bike mate.  But what if your dog is small and doesn’t need much exercise?  Don’t worry!  There are a few different ways that will allow your dog to join you so you don’t have to leave that wagging tail and adorable little face behind.

  • Bike Leash – For an active, healthy dog, a bike leash is your answer.  Bike leashes hook on the side of a bike and attach to your dog’s collar so he’s running right alongside of you.  It’s designed to control your dog in case he pulls in a different direction and ensures the safety of both dog and rider.  NEVER bring your dog on a regular leash that will leave you with just one hand on the handle bars and the other holding your dog’s leash.  This can be extremely dangerous.  Bike leashes were designed to free your hands so you can drive the bike properly.
  • Riders & Baskets – For your small dog that doesn’t really need much exercise, you can still bond with them on a bicycling trip by using a pet rider or a basket.  Baskets attached to the front handle bars and have a harness or strap that keeps your furry passenger hooked safely secured.  Riders also work the same way, although these can be attached to the front or back of a bike and also include a safety harness.

Start Small

Once you’ve determined the best way to bring your dog along, it’s time to get her acclimated to being with the bike.  Show her how you are attaching the leash to your bicycle or set her in the rider to get her used to it. For the initial few outings, just walk your bike.  When she starts to become comfortable, hop on the bike and go slowly at first. Plan on just going around the block the first time, followed by one or two more blocks as she adjusts to this new activity.  This is also a good time to make sure that your dog is properly secured to the bike so there aren’t any mishaps.

If the biking is going well and she’s not afraid or stressed out, you can then begin lengthening your bike trips and moving along at a more appropriate pace.

Safety First

There are some things to keep in mind when you have your dog with you on the bike so that you both have a safe and enjoyable experience.

1.  Whenever possible, use bike trails or roads that are less busy.  If this isn’t a nearby option, use a bike rack and drive the two of you to a nearby park or trail.

2.  Avoid extraordinary heat.  In the warm summer months, reserve biking outings for early mornings or early evenings before it is getting dark.

3.  Bring a small pack of necessary items, including water, treats, a cell phone, and your vet’s number just in case of an emergency.  Make sure that your dog has all of his tags and other identification.

Just you and your dog on the open road with the wind at your backs and the sunshine on your faces is a healthy and fun way to bond with your dog.  Dogs are always overjoyed to be going anywhere with their humans, so finding new ways to spend time together (like biking) is bound to bring the two of you even closer together.  Show your best friend just how much you love her and hop on that bike!

Interview with Raising a Green Dog blogger…

1) tell me a little about you (your background) and your dogs (Ages, breeds and how they came into your life) and how you got started your biz/dog blog… including what do people say when you tell them that you are a dog blogger?

My name is Leslie May, I am a marketing consultant to pet businesses by
trade (http://marketingmypetbusiness.com), here in the Indianapolis area. I
am fortunate enough to have two amazing dogs in my life, Johann (who we
lovingly call JoJo (pronounced YoYo)) and Gracie. JoJo is a four year old
sheltie who I adopted from the Southside Animal Shelter here in Indianapolis
at 12 weeks old. Gracie is a three year old border collie, who I adopted at
8 months. Gracie was originally rescued from a hoarder in a rural county of
Indiana. We also have two great cats in our family, Wolfie (Wolfgang), and
Wiggy (Ludwig), who are 9 and 8, respectively. All my pets are named after
classical composers.

Johann, Gracie and I love to do agility in our spare time. Johann is an
accomplished agility dog with many titles and qualifications to national
championships. And Gracie is just beginning her agility ‘career.’

When Johann was just about 5 years old, I thought it would be fun to create
a website for him, to share his life with his friends and create a diary of
his life. That site opened up a whole new world to me. Soon the main website
(http://JohannTheDog.com) was becoming popular and we began to offer products to other active dog families like ours. Johann also began to blog, first with his own personal blog The Days of Johann, an agility dog (http://blog.johannthedog.com) and then with Rescue Me
(http://helpingpups.com) , a blog that showcases a dog in need from a shelter or rescue every day of the week.

Beginning last year, we began to get a lot of questions from our blog
readers about our ‘green’ lifestyle. Dog lovers wanted to know how they
could be more green and get safer pet products. So Johann started another
blog, called Raise A Green Dog (http://raiseagreendog.com to share information about how a dog can be more green, live a happier, healthier
lifestyle and help the environment at the same time.

2) How has blogging changed your life?

With three blogs, blogging is a big part of my life, and I wouldn’t want it
any other way. Through blogging, we have met some of the most amazing dog
lovers, not only in the US, but throughout the world. We exchange laughs,
information, training tips and tricks, health and wellness information, and
have a great time together. I have made some of my now best best friends
through blogging.

3) Where do you get your ideas for blog posts?

A lot of my ideas come from Johann’s and Gracie’s life. We have a pretty
active lifestyle and there is always something going on to blog about.
Whether it be a new trick Gracie has learned, or what happened at our
agility training class, or agility trial, or what funny thing Johann did
that day, I am never at a loss of things to blog about. And we like to blog
about current events about dogs in the news, programs that are on television
that our readers may like, or tips, trick and information we learn from the
wide variety of websites and other blogs we read, that we would like to
share with our readers and friends.

4) Have you noticed a shift in attitudes towards bloggers, dogs, dog
travel ?

Some of my friends that don’t have dogs were somewhat skeptical of our dog
blogging. But once they saw the blogs, their attitudes changed dramatically.
They love our blogs, and now our non-dog friends come to visit our blogs,
they can’t wait to see what Johann is blogging about next.

5) What are your favorite blogs ?

I have so many favorite blogs that I like to read I couldn’t begin to
mention all of them. I would say that throughout the week I read over 100
blogs, visiting friends, finding out about their lives, and reading
information about dogs, tricks, agility, health and wellness, diet, and much
more.

6) Do you have any tips for pet owners and/or pet business owners or
pet bloggers?

That’s a big question. For pet owners: enjoy and have a lot of fun with
your pets while you have them, their lives are much to short. For pet
business owners: you are the lucky ones who get to spend their life helping
and providing for other pet owners like yourself. Enjoy every bit of it. And
listen to your customers, provide what they want and need and you will be
much more successful. For bloggers: be yourself, it’s the best way to be.

7) What types of articles on your blog receive the best traffic?

The types of articles I write for my blog that get the most traffic are the
personal ones – the ones about our life, what we’ve been doing lately, about
the hike we went on recently, what happened at our last agility trial, how
we organically fertilized our lawn, or safely clean our house, and the like.

8. How do you cope with juggling all of the various balls you’ve got
going in the air?

Well, juggling is never easy. I am lucky enough to work at home, so I can
adjust my time to work and my time to play with my dogs; and I don’t have to
take the time to commute to an office. And we have agility equipment in the
backyard for us to take a break from work or blogging and practice some
agility. But I admit, I work long hours.

9. As a dog lover, do you have a favorite product or service that EVERY dog owner MUST get for their pet (besides yours)?

I have a lot of favorite products that I use. I think the main thing I can
suggest to pet owners is buy the very best quality of food you can afford.
Not all pet foods are created equal, do your research and feed your pet the
most healthy food you can.

And another important and my most favorite thing to share is I encourage dog
lovers to find a special activity that you can do just with your dog.

Johann, Gracie and I have a sport (agility) that we love and just can’t wait
to do, together. And many of my dog loving friends also have an activity
that they love doing with their dog, whether it be learning and doing
tricks, running together, Frisbee, dock dog, obedience, or just taking hikes
together. There is an incredible bond that you form with your dog when you
are doing something special together, and I would love to see every dog
owner share in that special bond.

10. Have you noticed any trends in the pet blogging/pet business recently related to the economy? In other words, are innkeepers more open to pets (or less), are pet owners still buying products (or not)?

I’ve seen a real trend toward ‘green’ dog products and services. With the
recent and past recall scares and tragedies, dog lovers are very concerned
with the safety of their pet’s foods, toys and other products. Dog lovers
are seeking out advice on what is safe and turning toward organic,
all-natural, Made in the USA and fair trade products and services not only
for dogs, but other pets as well, to keep them healthier and happier.

green is the color of my pink belly eco-puppy…

if your dog is a tree hugging, eco friendly type of holistic hound, loves to go au naturel, and is the rough and ready type of K9, and you share his love for the wild and pristine environment, then here are a few ways to green your holistic minded hound dog…

1, Spay and neuter and adopt a dog from an eco friendly shelter or rescue group, do not buy from a puppy store or puppy mill

2. Feed fido only healthy food and gourmet organic canine treats, homemade, raw, Paul Newman’s, Organix, Evo, Honest Kitchen, California Natural, Pet Promise, and other good brands

3. Use only green cleaning products such as Thieves from Young Living

4. Bathe your pooch with nontoxic shampoos and grooming products such as Vermont Soap Organics Pet Wash

5. Toys: play catch with a recycled rubber ball, turn old socks into tug toys
and you can also purchase toys that use certified organic dye-free fabrics from PurrfectPlay and other companies…

http://www.purrfectplay.com/dog-toy-products.php

6. Beds and bones:  let Fido rest in an organic cotton bed, fluffed up with stuffing made from recycled plastic bottles.  Bone up on the best raw, organic bones

Eco-chic pet beds from Paw Digs. Eco Slumber™ beds combine eco- fabric, made with 85 percent recycled fibers and then filled with 100 percent recycled fiber fill.

If you Must Carry your pup around in your purse, why not try green carriers by Eco Hound’s urban pet hemp carrier. Eco hound manufactures products made from sustainable and renewable sources such as hemp and organic cotton which are gentle to humans, animals, and the environment.

7. Use recycled, reusable, portable pet food and water containers.

Check out GreenPeople’s list of where to find green pet supplies around the world .

8. Preserve the environment by cleaning up after your dog with biodegradable doggie waste bags…Flush Poop, a flushable bag that is safe for the plumbing and biodegrades. This way the stuff is in the toilet and not garbage cans. Products: Oops I Pooped, Dog Poo Poo Bags, Biobags, Skooperbox or you can build a doggie waste composter in your back yard…

An episode of Renovation Nation featured a family that built a dog waste composter in their backyard. Here is how they did it:

1. Buy a metal garbage can. They are easier to move than rubber or plastic.

2. Poke holes in the garbage can. Remember those jars that you kept bugs in as a kid. Do just like you did then. You can use a drill if you want.

3. Dig a hole and put the can in it. Make sure that that top of the can is flesh with the surface of the soil.

4. Pour some water and bacteria in the can.

5. Add the pet waste.

Did you know that the average dog excretes over 250 pounds of waste a year?  that adds up to 10 million tons of waste annually… Some cities won’t let you throw pet waste into the regular trash. Dog waste composting is a great way to aid the environment and to green up your pet and garden.

Note:  Don’t use dog waste compost on food crops.

9. If you have to dress up your dog, get environmentally friendly dog clothing  Dress up your pup in an organic cotton tank with a recycled belt collar. All hemp collars from Earthdog.

10. Bring your dog to a holistic or green friendly vet such as Dr. Harvey…

11. Stay at pet friendly eco-lodges and environmentally friendly (aka Green) inns such as MacCallum House, The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek, The Stanford Inn, in Mendocino

12. If you must put your dog in the dog house, make sure that you let her rest in a green dog house  (build your own or you can purchase at your neighborhood all natural pet store)

13. Take care of your dog’s training with a green dog trainer (Read The Loved Dog by Tamar Geller), you want your pooch to learn in a positive, uplifting, inspiring, nonviolent, nontoxic dog training environment (no choke collars, no hitting or beating your best friend!)

14. You can even find Green pet sitters and doggie daycare facilities if you scratch deep enough

15. Make sure your pet is protected with Green pest care… There are some nontoxic Tick and flea repellent products such as Flea Free which makes an organic tick and flea repellent and Rara Avis Tick Spritz

http://store.better-flea-control.com/shampoos.html

For ticks, you can make a homemade recipe that includes mostly vegetable oil and rose geranium oil — 2 tablespoons to 10 drops. Another natural repellent is pennyroyal

http://aunaturelk9s.org/

16. Fluoridated water is not healthy for either humans or your dog … so use distilled, purified, reverse osmosis water (Dasani is water left over from soda pop, not healthy water)

17.  Give the gift of health with acupuncture, reflexology, doggie massage and dog yoga

18.  Research and educate yourself about vaccines and pet microchips

a truly green puppy was born in New Orleans…

an inn for all seasons and reasons… Howard Creek Ranch Inn…

http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Howard.Creek.Ranch.Inn.707-964-6725

Seldom in this world today does one find a location which ingrains itself upon one’s very soul. Where one can remove oneself from the chaotic modern world and return to a simpler time of peace and tranquility.

The innkeepers, Sally and Sunny Grigg, have, over their 30+ years of stewardship, transformed the (c.1871) ranch through masterful craftsmanship and heartfelt restoration into a realm of quixotic romanticism seldom found. Through the warm-heartedness of the innkeepers and staff, the made-from-the-heart breakfast presented gracefully elegant, one is enveloped with a sense of kith and kin.

Plato called beauty a privilege of nature; Carneades, a solitary kingdom; Aristotle, that it was better than all the letters of recommendation in the world; Homer, that it was a glorious gift of nature, and Ovid, that it was a favor bestowed by the gods. Beauty is Howard Creek Ranch Inn….Nita and Peter von Sintzenich

Whether you seek a romantic getaway, a peaceful healing nature or spiritual retreat, or a pet friendly farm to bring Fido and Fluffy with you on vacation, come to  howard creek ranch in westport, ca about 15 – 20 miles north of fort bragg…

it is about an hour and a half south of the Avenue of the Giants and same distance north of the Anderson Valley wineries along highway 128.

I was not feeling well, an upset tummy and a bit dizzy and after a few days back at the ranch, have gotten my equilibrium back… it was dicey for awhile there.  I have never had motion sickness but I felt like I could not drive one more mile.

Cici and I stayed in the lovely Willow room suite… two rooms with a king sized bed  in one and a queen size bed in the other, front and back doors, modern shower, small kitchenette… lovely quilts and tree motifs on the redwood walls….

The blue balcony room is a nice alcove type space for a lone traveler or couple but is not pet friendly and has a microwave and sink in the adjacent living room.

Another pet friendly room is a boat house made from a former boat. A couple from San Francisco stayed there for their honeymoon 11 years ago and come back to visit from time to time. The SeaView is also a very romantic location with ocean views and is pet friendly as is the Meadow room.  Hello young lovers… wherever you are, with stars in your eyes… The Beach House is the perfect place to while away your time together.

Beautiful fragrant award-winning gardens make your heart sing and soul soar. There are numerous trails and acres of Nature conservancy to explore and sheep, llamas, a horse, and other creatures are plentiful. We saw a lovely deer and doe on our way to the beach, could not find a way to drive to the beach, but you can walk… the beach is 300 yards from the Carriage House and is accessible along a short path.

Sally makes the most flavorful hearty home cooked breakfast on the coast… scrambled eggs, sausage, country potatoes, fresh fruit, muffins, mint tea straight from the garden, and if she does not have something you want, she will improvise. I needed ginger tea and she made me some from the spice ginger she had on her shelf and it worked.  Just a spoonful of ginger makes the tummy ache go away. Mint is wonderful but doesn’t make my tummy ok.

Another morning we had french toast, salsa quiche, turkey bacon, fresh fruit.

For other meals, bring your own sandwiches or stuff to barbecue or there are restaurants within a few miles down the road.

Cici met a new boy friend named the Divine Mr. M(arshall) who is a 7 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel obsessed with sticks. They ran on the beach together, mostly Cici trying to take the sticks away from M, but he prevailed, burying one big stick to hide it away from her. Bark softly and bury a big stick is his motto. Cici also played with a girl dog named Callie who loves to fetch balls. Finally, she got some good exercise, burning off all of those treats people fed her in Sutherlin, Oregon.

fido meets yum-o, Rachael Ray’s new pet rescue and pet food…

I disovered Rachael Ray on the Food Network on her show 30 Minute Meals a few years ago before she had her national show… now she has gone global, and recently started a pet rescue and pet food company with natural ingredients… foods like she feeds her beloved pit bull Isaboo… sharing the recipes, feeding other dogs and cats good tasty foods.

Cici is looking forward to tasting Nutrish… and it’s great to see celebrities using their fame for good works such as Rachael’s Rescue. How about asking / writing Rachael and asking her to start a national pet food bank for animals and pet owners ?  That would be a wonderful step in the right direction… perhaps she could donate a % of food to the food bank, for starters…

been watching the Food Network’s search for the new food network star, don’t yet know who won because I didn’t watch the last one, but it was clear that Rachael Ray makes her job look really easy when it’s definitely not… lots of stress, pressure and doing twenty things at one time… a lot of work…

Rachael Ray Goes to the Dogs
By Gina Serpe Mon Jul 28, 2:55 AM PDT

Fido, meet Yum-o.

Rachael Ray is bringing her trademark brand of culinary perk to the pet world, launching a new line of premium dog food.

The Rover-friendly line, dubbed Rachael Ray Nutrish, features two varieties of all-natural pooch chow recipes, which have been both named after and developed for Ray’s own four-legged friend, her pit bull Isaboo.

Proceeds from the products will be donated to Rachael’s Rescue, an organization founded by the foodie that helps at-risk animals through the adoption process.

“I love my dog Isaboo, and as a member of my family, I need to make sure that she eats as well as the rest of us,” Ray gushes. “With the launch of Nutrish, I now have the opportunity to share with other pet lovers some of her favorite meals, flavors and special treats.”

Those favorites include the somewhat cloyingly named treats Isaboo Booscotti and Isaboo Grill Bites.

“It seemed like not a lot of extra time to donate to something that could potentially raise millions of dollars for championing these little creatures that can’t speak for themselves,” Ray said of the line’s charitable bent.

Ray has made no secret of her dog-loving ways over the years, featuring her pup in the opening credits of her Food Network show 30 Minute Meals, as well as featuring the dog on her syndicated talk show, Every Day With Rachael Ray

Proving to be an equal-opportunity pet provider, Ray already has a line of natural cat food in the works.
