when cici met lola and pablo at the park…

well, folks, making plans is fun but you know what they say, we make plans and God laughs… so it was on my birthday… my car conked out and got towed, so no Harry Potter, no ice cream, no lunches…

did finally go to see Harry Potter yesterday… I liked it.  has been awhile since I read the book perhaps that’s why, don’t recall the book, but felt the movie was decent… better than the last movie…

anyway, cici had to spend the day yesterday in the yard, not happy, but she and Lola did whoop it up the day before, chased one another, played with a squeaky toy at the little park down the street from us. Lola is FAST, super poodle girl… cici could hardly keep up. Then Pablo came out in his yard and wanted to play, too… like their own little doggie park, was very cool for the dogs ! really good exercise for cici !

weather has been very frosty in the mornings, supposed to rain and has been warming up, thankfully…

cici was quite happy to come inside last night and slept in the middle of the bed with no budging her an inch !!!

this morning, we had cold pizza for breakfast again, since no car, cannot get to market… there is a small one nearby but not much in it…

so if anyone has a Toyota Scion (used) for sale, nearby, let me know, I did a test drive and that is the car I want asap…

happy halloweenie…

think it’s appropriate for halloween, a holiday where scary things go boo in the night, and some people are still afraid of pitties to share the links below plus our day at the mall.

today at the mall, cici got a lot of positive attention, as she usually does. she ignored five dogs, a really cute poodle, a huge dog of unknown breed, one poodle mix dog dressed up with antlers, they sniffed each other, and then there were two chi’s that were very loud and  cici barked back… guess who people looked scared of, uh huh, but the scariest boo moment was when this dyed pink poodle passed her by, cici’s tail went between her legs, she was seriously scared, don’t blame her…

it was also funny, people were standing in line wanting to pet her… typical comments: “she is adorable. is her name spot? she looks like the Lil Rascals dog, she is so sweet, calm. What a great dog. Love the spot on her head.”

tomorrow they will have a doggie dress up day, and we will NOT be there… I don’t dress cici up, she is a dog after all…

What’s Up With That: Breed Specific Legislation

http://bit.ly/byrvJn

if you believe the headlines that pit bulls chew on children, infants, babies, then, you just don’t know the truth… pit bulls were bred as nanny dogs, to love children, to take care of and protect children…

cici loves babies, newborns, 3 months old, kids of all ages, she loves children…

ANY dog should be supervised, just like kids… and ANY DOG BREED can become unsafe if not socialized, if tied up 24/7 on a chain, brutalized and traumatized repeatedly. Animals, like humans, have feelings and will protect themselves from constant attack, eventually. Although, cici has been attacked by other dogs at least 5 times  and the worst she ever did was bark, growl, and hold a dog’s ear in her mouth (when three dogs were surrounding her barking, growling, snapping at her)…

Thank you, Barack Obama and family for saying that you will be getting a rescue puppy… a lot of people have been weighing in on what kind of puppy the first family should get… and Cici and I think they should get a Dalmatian/pit bull mix, for obvious reasons… a pit bull mix would be great to show the world that pit bulls can be GREAT sweet loving gentle dogs not the monsters some in the media have turned them into… here is what the LA Times, NY Times, Washington Post, and others have to say about the First Puppy….

Mr. Obama and his wife, Michelle, have been talking about a dog for a while.

A goldendoodle (Photo: Rob Bennett for The New York Times)

He had said a year ago, while campaigning in Iowa, that his older daughter, Malia, now 10, had been investigating breeds and decided that because of her allergies, she wanted a goldendoodle, which is a cross between a golden retriever and poodle.

He said his daughter thought the goldendoodle “the optimal dog.”…

…In June, during an interview on Good Morning America, Mrs. Obama said they would get a dog next spring because by then they would be settled, no matter how the election turned out.

…“The deal on dog is a year from now, because what we know about raising a dog is that you have to be pretty stable, so you don’t drive your dog crazy,” she said.

How many dogs does it take to change a lightbulb?

well, this does not mention Dalmatians nor pit bulls, but it’s still funny…

from ‘Why Does My Dog Act That Way?’, by Dr. Stanley Coren.  “How many dogs does it take to change a lightbulb?” …  it depends upon the breed.

  •  Border Collie: Just one, but why not let me change the light fixture so that it will accept fluorescent bulbs, which are much more efficient?
  • Bulldog: Don’t bother; I’ll just lie here in the dark.
  • German Shepherd: Just one, but it will have to wait until I’ve rescued those people trapped in the dark and led them to safety, and then checked the house to make sure that no one has entered under cover of darkness to take advantage of the situation.
  • Shetland sheepdog:  I will as soon as I arrange all of the new bulbs in a tight and orderly little circle.
  • Golden retriever:  The sun is shining, we’ve got no work to do today, I’ve got this neat red ball here, and you’re inside worrying about some silly lightbulb?
  • Rottweiller: Go ahead, and see if you’re tough enough to make me!
  • Corgi: First, I’ll bark until the old bulb leaves of its own accord and then I’ll nip at the new one until it goes into the socket…
  • Labrador retriever: I can do it! Please!….Please…I can. You know I can. Please….
  • Greyhound:  It isn’t moving, so who cares?
  • Pointer:  I see it. There it is. Look, it’s right there…
  • Jack Russell terrier:  Me! I can reach it! All I have to do is to keep bouncing off the furniture and walls.
  • Poodle:  I’ll just whisper sweet nothings into the Border collie’s ear and he’ll do it.  By the time he’s finished putting in the new light fixture, my nails will be dry.
