The world has changed. How can our sustainability research keep pace? 🤔 Climate disruption reshapes markets overnight. Geopolitical tensions rewrite supply chains. Economic volatility challenges every assumption about sustainable business practices. 🌱 GRONEN 2026 poses the essential question: How do we rethink sustainability for a disrupted world? Our upcoming Gronen 2026 Research Conference at Esade Business School invites contributions that critically examine how organizations can not only adapt to these complex dynamics but also contribute to regenerating life-supporting social and ecological systems in times of disruption. We welcome submissions exploring: • Interconnected Crises: A Changing Landscape for Organizations • Organizational Responses: Diverging Paths in Times of Crisis • Understanding Systemic Challenges and Responses Together, we aim to develop knowledge that doesn't just analyze disruption, but helps organizations thrive within it. 📅 Save the date: GRONEN 2026: Rethinking Sustainability for a Disrupted World 📍 ESADE, Barcelona, Spain JUNE 7-10, 2026 Check out the Call for Papers below 👇 More info: https://lnkd.in/dgSfD-pd #GRONEN2026 #SustainabilityResearch #DisruptedWorld #AcademicCommunity #EnvironmentalManagement #Barcelona

🌍 GRONEN Workshop 2025 on Insider Social Change Agents - Research, Education, Impact 🌱 On October 10, almost 60 scholars gathered at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University for an inspiring GRONEN workshop dedicated to exploring the crucial role of insider social change agents — individuals embedded within organizations who actively drive initiatives addressing pressing societal and environmental challenges. Throughout the day, participants reflected on the identities, motivations, and strategies of these agents and how their actions can collectively foster systemic change. The program featured: 🎤 A thought-provoking keynote by Maureen Scully (University of Massachusetts Boston) reflecting on 30 Years of Tempered Radicalism 📘 An editorial panel with Grace Augustine (Organization Science), Minna Halme (Organization & Environment), and Christopher Wickert (Journal of Management Studies) 💡 An engaging research plenary with Elisa Alt, Verena Girschik, Raquel Kessinger, Lucas Amaral and lightning sessions showcasing cutting-edge research from emerging and established scholars 🎓 Interactive sessions on teaching (for) insider social change agents — with Irene Jonkers, Sue Langford PhD, Nora El Maanni - v/d Borg 🟥, Kristina Bogner 🟥and Anna Margolis showcasing ideas to strengthen education for future change-makers 💬 A reflective panel on impact across career stages, with Stephanie Bertels, Sophie Klein, and Tina Miedtank, sharing tools and experiences for achieving meaningful influence through research The day concluded with rich discussions, new connections, and renewed energy for advancing research and education on sustainability-oriented change within organizations. And with a nice dinner 😊 A warm thank you to all speakers, facilitators, and participants for their contributions — and to our amazing topic hosts Katrin Heucher and Sara Soderstrom, our local host Christina Bidmon and to our sponsors the PtS Community Sustainability Education and Engagement at Universiteit Utrecht and the Strategic Theme on Sustainability and Future Prosperity (University of Groningen), for their generous support. #GRONEN #Sustainability #OrganizationalChange #InsiderChangeAgents #TemperedRadicalism #AcademicCommunity #SustainabilityResearch #UtrechtUniversity #UniversityofGroningen

NBS is piloting a new program to catalyze high-impact collaborations between business sustainability research centres around the world. The Network for Business Sustainability, in coordination with the Sustainability Centres Community and with generous support from the Ivey Business School at Western University, is offering a new program to help global research centres sharpen their impact strategy, build strategic partnerships, and find funding. Since 2012, the Sustainability Centres Community has convened centre leaders, enabling them to build relationships, share best practices, and support one another on shared goals. Now, we are piloting a new program to take centre support deeper: Centre Collaboration Incubators. Centre Collaboration Incubators are a facilitated process to help a pre-selected group of research centres, working on the same topic but having complementary resources and capabilities, to scope a collaborative project and apply for joint funding. Incubator participants will: ➡️ Build strong, trust-based relationships across geographically diverse centres (Global North and South) with complementary expertise, perspectives, and networks. ➡️ Co-create a high-quality, collaborative research project that aligns with members’ impact and career goals. ➡️ Identify a portfolio of relevant and achievable project funding sources, including applying for a joint grant. ➡️ Learn new skills and insights related to co-creating research with practitioners, and recoupling knowledge creation with positive systems change. ➡️ Gain visibility with a global network of sustainability scholars and practitioners. ➡️ (Optional) Produce public outputs of interest to Incubator members, which could include case studies, practitioner articles, or theory papers. The research projects that emerge from Incubators will embody four values: ➡️ True co-leadership between Global South and Global North centres. ➡️ A systems thinking, interventionist approach, which tackles the root cause of a societal issue to create change at scale. ➡️ Co-creation with practitioners, to ensure research results in real-world change. ➡️ Co-creation with a large, global community of research centres. The first Incubator will begin in December 2025. Expression of Interest deadline is Friday, November 14, 2025. Learn more and submit an Expression of Interest: https://lnkd.in/gFAVttHR Special thanks goes out to members of the Sustainability Centre Community Advisory Board, who have been invaluable in shaping this initiative.
