Hitachi Energy hat dies direkt geteilt
Hallo from Davos! After two days at the WEF annual meeting, one thing is unmistakable: this edition is seeing the highest level of government and business engagement in the Forum’s history. Not surprising. We are living through an accelerated transition, one that brings a fair share of uncertainty. Yet, amid all this uncertainty, one certainty clearly stands out: the world is going electric. You hear it in almost every conversation we’re having in Davos. Electricity is the backbone of modern society. It powers how we heat and cool our homes, how we move with EVs, how our devices work, how industry operates, and how the fastest-growing industry of data centres and AI keeps scaling. Reflecting this reality, more than half of global energy investment is now flowing into electrification and power grids. This shift places Hitachi right at the heart of today’s most critical conversations. What the world increasingly needs is exactly what we at Hitachi Energy are experts in building. A clear message echoed across Davos: Developing transmission is now more critical than developing power generation. Power generation, renewables, conventional sources, and even the renaissance of nuclear, is scalable and diverse enough to meet rising demand and support national energy sovereignty. But without resilient, well-designed power grids, electrons simply don’t reach where they are needed. The challenge ahead is not just building more grids, but building them smarter, more resilient, without driving excessive investment, flexible to adapt to fast-changing demand; technologically fit-for-purpose, selecting the right solution for each application; supported by legislation that enables dynamic markets and accelerates project deployment. There is no future of energy abundance and affordability without power transmission. Good news, we have all it takes to make that happen.

When Leadership inspires what’s next in Education 💡 Last week, Barbara Stolle-Amedick, Global Head of Supply Chain Management in the Business Unit Transformers, shared her vast experience and leadership insights in a keynote speech at the University of St. Gallen - HSG in Switzerland. The "Transforming Supply Chain Strategy: The Hitachi Energy Approach” masterclass was part of the extensive Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) Strategic Procurement program at the university's Institute for Marketing and Customer Insight | IMC-HSG. Barbara had the opportunity to showcase to the experienced Executive audience how our team at Hitachi Energy became a case study of the successful integration of the supply chain strategy into business outcomes amid different challenges and opportunities. We are very proud of Barbara and our Supply Chain Team in leading what’s next in the industry! We are fully #ProudToBeHitachiEnergy. ❤️ #HitachiEnergy #Transformers #HitachiEnergyTransformers #Leadership

The module was shaped by a variety of perspectives: • Prof. Dr. Jörg Grimm opened the module with strategic perspectives on procurement and its contribution to organizational value creation. • Prof. Dr. Elmar H. deepened category strategy development on the second module day, including well-established analytical and structuring approaches (e.g. SWOT, ABC, Kraljic). • Jürg Honegger 🚀Dr. oec. HSG introduced the Netmapping method on the third module day, providing a practice-oriented approach to networked thinking and strategic management in procurement. • The module block was complemented by a keynote by Barbara Stolle-Amedick (Hitachi Energy) on the transformation of procurement strategy. Already in the first module, a high level of engagement, reflective capability, and practical relevance became evident. Participants bring experience from a wide range of industries – from manufacturing, energy, and construction to consumer goods, public administration, and financial services – enriching the program through intensive discussions and a diversity of perspectives. Many thanks to our participants: Adina Bialas, Dominik Burda, Christian Dehne, Jessica Engler, Stephan Freiburghaus, Janick Gander, Valerie Hofer, David Honegger, Kevin Klatte, Adriano Martino, Philipp Meyer, Franz-Rudolf Neyses, Mark Rüttimann, Marc Scheidegger, Anna Schuhmacher, Guillaume Rabago and Petar Goreski. In February 2026, the CAS will continue with the second module block focusing on (strategic) supplier management. We look forward to the continued learning journey together! #HSG #CAS #StrategicProcurement #ExecutiveEducation #Procurement #ProcurementStrategy #SupplyChain #TransferIntoPractice Mischa D. Once again, Hitachi Energy is redefining what’s possible with EconiQ® SF₆-free technology! 🌿 On January 16, we successfully completed the manufacturing and routine testing of the world’s first EconiQ 550 kV Gas-Insulated Switchgear to the State Grid Corporation of China, setting a new benchmark for high-voltage applications. This milestone sends a clear signal to the industry: high-voltage networks can move beyond SF₆. It marks a key step toward largescale, high-voltage operations without SF₆, helping accelerate the transition to a low-carbon grid in Central China. Europe’s energy transition is accelerating – but the labor force isn’t. Jobs in clean energy are growing faster than training systems can deliver skilled talent. Without new approaches, progress on renewables, power grids, and energy security could stall within this decade. Catch us at #BloombergHouse in Davos for a panel discussion featuring Andreas Schierenbeck, CEO of Hitachi Energy, and Peter Burke, Ireland’s Minister of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment. Moderated by Leigh Gilmore, Global Head, Bloomberg Live, the session will explore who should build the skills Europe urgently needs and how to unlock a future ready energy workforce.
