The impact of climate change is becoming increasingly visible worldwide, with growing environmental and economic implications. While the scale of the challenge can feel overwhelming, it also offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and understand how different countries are advancing #sustainability and accelerating the transition to #RenewableEnergy. #China is one such example. Its clean technology sector is estimated to account for around a tenth of its GDP and is among the country’s fastest-growing industries, supported by the rapid expansion of renewable energy capacity over the past two decades. What is enabling this shift, and what can others learn from it? This is the focus of EP3 of S2 of #WhereNext: Crisis, Hope and Opportunity. In the series, thought leaders, creators, scientists, designers, and authors explore today’s most pressing challenges, how they are being tackled across different regions, and what comes next. Soon you’ll find us behind the scenes at some of the best-known exhibitions and events across #Switzerland, including fairs like Art Basel. Not as an exhibitor, but as the logistics partner helping everything run smoothly from the ground up. From July 1, 2026, Kuehne+Nagel has been appointed Official Logistics Partner for exhibition venues operated by MCH Group in Basel, Zurich and Lausanne. The five‑year partnership reflects the trust placed in our #ExpoandEventLogistics expertise and our ability to support a diverse portfolio of exhibitions and events across Switzerland. “With Kuehne+Nagel, we have found a partner that brings the expertise, global reach, and operational reliability our venues require. This long-term partnership will allow us to offer exhibitors and event organisers a seamless, consistently high-quality logistics experience across all three of our Swiss locations – and ultimately strengthen what makes our events exceptional,” says Roman Imgrüth, CEO Exhibitions and Events, MCH Group. Affordability in sustainable marine fuels (#SMF) depends on action, not intention. Only when the industry commits to using them can adoption at scale begin. At Kuehne+Nagel, we see this as a critical lever to turn #decarbonisation from ambition into action. That thinking is reflected in our expanding collaboration with Hapag-Lloyd AG to support emission-reduced #SeaLogistics. Through SMF, including certified waste- and residue-based biofuels, customers can achieve verified Scope 3 emission reductions via a market-based approach designed to support real-world decarbonisation. The initiative is expected to avoid around 3,000 tonnes of CO₂e on a well-to-wake basis, accounting for emissions across the full lifecycle of the fuel, from production through to use. This collaboration shows how shared ambition, transparency and credible solutions can translate into practical climate action for sea logistics. Ports are the biggest factor influencing how reliably sea shipments move. In today’s volatile #SupplyChain environment, congestion, disruptions and shifting trade flows are making port planning far less predictable. Great visibility can help address this. The #seaexplorer port details includes KPI's on port performance, highlighting where pressure is building, before it leads to delays. This information can help to: ➡️ Anticipate delays sooner ➡️ Make more informed routing decisions ➡️ Improve predictability across ocean supply chains Better insight into port conditions makes it easier to plan ahead and set more realistic expectations for shipment timelines. Log in to #myKN to explore the enhanced port details.

As the partnership between Switzerland and #Morocco continues to deepen, we were pleased to welcome Swiss Ambassador to Morocco, Valentin Zellweger (pictured: third from left), to our head office in Schindellegi, where he met with our CEO Stefan Paul and EVP Sea Logistics Michael Aldwell. Morocco has an ambitious vision for how logistics – and maritime logistics in particular – can support long-term economic growth. Switzerland, in turn, brings strong support for initiatives in education, technology and innovation. Together, this combination of infrastructure, talent and execution capability creates a solid foundation for sustainable development. For Kuehne+Nagel, Morocco represents a market where #logistics can play an increasingly strategic role, connecting industries, regions and global trade corridors. The country’s clear direction and logistics ambition make it a compelling environment for building resilient, future‑oriented #SupplyChain solutions.

This week, our CEO Stefan Paul accompanied Guy Parmelin, President of the #SwissConfederation, on his visit to Jeddah, #SaudiArabia, as part of a small Swiss business delegation. At the centre of the programme was the Saudi‑Swiss Investment Roundtable, bringing together government representatives and senior business leaders from both countries to discuss investment conditions, industrial cooperation, and long‑term economic partnerships. A key milestone was the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Swiss Federal Council on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments, underscoring the shared commitment to stable, predictable frameworks for cross‑border #investment. During the discussions, Stefan contributed the perspective of a global logistics provider, underlining the role of reliable supply chains, port infrastructure, and integrated logistics in enabling trade and supporting industrial growth across markets. Particularly in times of global uncertainty and crisis, such direct, personal exchanges remain essential to maintain trust, alignment, and continuity. The dialogue across sectors, including logistics, energy, finance, commodities, ports, and industry, highlighted that strong economic relationships are built through collaboration across industries.
