Game on in Zurich. 🏒✈️ As the Ice Hockey World Championship gets underway in Switzerland, our teams at Zurich Airport have been welcoming several national teams, including Team Hungary, Team Finland, Team Latvia and Team Slovakia. From passenger handling to oversized hockey equipment and time-critical baggage operations, every arrival requires careful coordination behind the scenes. Team Latvia even arrived with all player baggage and hockey gear on the same flight, creating a particularly exciting turnaround for our ground handling teams. Moments like these highlight the operational expertise, flexibility and teamwork that help keep major international events moving smoothly. Best of luck to all nations competing in this year’s championship. 🏆

Great to see Aspire Pre-Flight Hospitality continuing to strengthen its premium lounge offering at Birmingham Airport. 🙌 With 110 lounges across our global network and 6.4 million guests welcomed in 2025, investments like this reflect how we continue to evolve our hospitality offering through strong airport partnerships, operational expertise and lounge concepts tailored to different guest needs.

Guest expectations around airport hospitality are changing. Passengers no longer expect a one-size-fits-all lounge experience and that shift is shaping how we continue to invest across the Aspire network. From Summer 2026, Birmingham Airport will become the second airport in the UK to offer all three Aspire lounge experiences within a single location, with new Luxe by Aspire and Suite by Aspire spaces, alongside a fully refurbished Aspire Lounge. Business travellers want spaces that support focus and flexibility. Leisure guests are looking for a more considered start to their journey. Premium travellers increasingly expect privacy, elevated dining and more personalised service. As demand evolves, we are continuing to invest not only in new openings across our global network, but also in existing lounges where changing traveller needs are reshaping the role lounges play within the wider airport experience. At Birmingham, that means offering three distinct hospitality experiences within one location. Each space has been shaped through guest insight, operational learning and a design approach rooted in Birmingham’s industrial and cultural heritage. If you’re looking to see how your airport lounge strategy can evolve to meet the needs of today’s traveller, find out about partnering with us here: www.theaspireway.com #AspireLounges #AirportHospitality #BusinessTravel #BirminghamAirport

A huge thank you to our teams at Swissport KSA for their support throughout this operation. Moments like these highlight the importance of trusted partnerships and supporting customers with dependable performance when they need it most.

When operations shift unexpectedly, reliability and partnership matter most. 💪   During the temporary closure of Bahrain Airport, Gulf Air relocated its hub operations to King Fahd International Airport in Dammam to ensure continuity of service. As Gulf Air’s strategic partner in the Kingdom, our Swissport KSA teams in Saudi Arabia rapidly mobilized to support the transition with fully integrated hub operations and comprehensive ground handling services at DMM.   Thanks to the dedication, agility, and professionalism of our people, operations continued seamlessly while maintaining the highest standards of safety, service quality, and operational reliability. This is what operational excellence looks like in practice: teams coming together under pressure, adapting quickly, and delivering for our customers when it matters most.   A big thank you to our teams in KSA and to our partners at Gulf Air for the trust and collaboration throughout the operation.🙏

We’re driving smarter and safer operations in Geneva, where we’ve introduced Targa telematics to further enhance performance across our ground operations. 📈 At Genève Aéroport, we’re advancing digitalisation with a real-time tracking solution that gives our teams instant visibility of equipment location, usage and battery levels. Since March 2026, all passenger boarding stairs have been equipped, improving speed, coordination and overall operational performance on the apron, with a phased rollout already underway across our wider GSE fleet. At the same time, the system enhances safety through user identification and full traceability of equipment movements, helping us detect and reduce operational risks. Already successfully deployed in the UK and Cyprus, the rollout in Geneva marks the next step in scaling this technology across our network. And as the first station in Switzerland to introduce Targa telematics, Geneva is helping drive forward our data-driven approach to ground handling.

In case you missed it, our CEO Warwick Brady recently spoke on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme with Will Baine about Heathrow expansion and the future of UK airport capacity.   Heathrow is already the most expensive hub in the world by a significant margin. As Warwick puts it, “bigger doesn’t mean better”, and under the current regulatory framework, higher costs are effectively incentivised through higher returns.   With operations at more than 300 airports, including 20 of the world’s major international hubs, we see first-hand how this undermines UK competitiveness.   We support Heathrow expansion, but not at any cost. Affordability is essential, which is why we back Heathrow Reimagined: A Better Hub for Britain.   Definitely worth a listen 👇
