Nature-based Solutions (NbS) offer significant environmental and social benefits in addition to real economic value. The EU estimates that every euro invested in nature restoration can generate up to 38 euros in returns, from flood protection to cleaner air. Yet, despite their clear advantages, NbS are still not being funded at the needed scale. Mobilising capital for NbS through impact bonds presents a promising way forward.
