5 Month’s MIA?

You're probably thinking to yourself…. my, my, where has this charmster gone missing to? And just when you're about to kaboosh her into the sites of forgotten-land and never-sville, muahaha… suddenly she pops up in ur msn list… with her personal msg popping up something u thought u'll never see again… (till Martha Stewart becomes the next female president of America).. lo and behold…

Blog updated à http://charmsterk.blogspot.com/ hahhahahaha…..

Well… I don't even know where to start lol… to update on stuffs, stuffs and STUFFFFSSSSS… Last time I checked, I posted a blog on 16 June 2008! That' like 5 frigging months ago! SOoOoOo many stufffssss and stuffffsss happened in this 5 months oh boy oh boy I cant wait to tell…. Yummy yummy =)

But let's skip the oh-so-feeble infos and jump on into the juicy stuffing kits eh? Yours truly is promoted from an intern to an associate now yipppiieeee XD . She's having loadsie funnnnn in zeee new environment its so nicey-nicey =D Let's see… ok at first, she was sitting with ben in front of the fountains at Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers (yes zee famed twin towers in Malaysia, folks!). Charmster was making one of those big decisions in life – to head back to Penang (her hometown) for work, ie get a transfer there. Coz KL was being mean to her! Hmmmph. That was 1st Sept. (a public hols, ie bank holiday coz the day before was our nation's national day! Merdeka! Which also happens to be Tom Clendon's wedding anniversary hmm. Yes our fav lecturer in London woohoo)

Anyways on 2nd Sept, ie first day of work, she and her batchmates were sent to Port Dickson – a beach – for their training. WHooopp first day of work in a resort at a beach? Whoaaa cooool. She made frens, build relationships and learn to love KL with the help of her newfound peeps and now… KL isn't so bad lah… They often have gatherings for yam cha (drink tea in chinese) and mamak escapades (indian muslim restaurants). From Halloween at Baskin Robbins to Steamboat at Sunway to her unforgettable 21st birthday celebration =) Now she decided she cant leave KL!

Okie let's sway out of topic a lil bit and talk about the 21st birthday =)

Armani had pakatted with Timmy and Cynthia my housemates to get me a birthday cake and a big bouquet of 21 roses – 20 red and 1 pink… and on 12 midnite on early Fri the 17 Oct 2008, they came knocking on my door… (with Armani still on the long-distance call with yours truly) and SURPRISE !! I was like…. AHHHHHHHH thankssssss that is so so so so so SWEEEEETTT =D I never had expected this, I thought Cynthia was brewing another kind of scandal with Timmy in his room, wink wink if u know what I mean! Thank you so much dear Cynthia and Timmy and most of all the sweet Armani =)

The morning after at work, seniors had surprised me with a cake – which I would never had expected – it was really sweet for superiors to take note of your birthday, having work there for less than 2 months and working with this team for a week plus! Thanks Shook Kuan, Justyin, Hakeem, Jian Eu =)

That nite itself on Fri 17 Oct, I had dinner with batchmate colleagues Choi Lin, Wendy, Karen, Nicholas, Christopher, Eddie, Victor. Went to Delicious at Bangsar Village (one of those prestigious shopping mall in KL). We had fun fooling around and taking funny weird pics and vids, and they were so sweet to get a brownie with ice-cream topping and light a candle on it, singing the birthday song =) . Thanks peeepsss I love u all soo much muahhhhh choc is my fav and to top it off with ice-cream is simply ooh-la-la….. N yes muahaha we caught nick on camera doing the MCL hand dance. Nick u are so dead wait till I post it on Facebook after my peak (Peak period ie busy period for projects). Muahahaha.

Next day Sat 18 Oct, we had a gathering for October babies for our batchmates so once again we partay like we owned the nite! Had dinner for 25 ppl at Italianese in 1-Utama (another shopping mall in KL) where we celebrated Sean and I's birthday together… We practically brought the restaurant down with our jiggly moods and noises lol.. N when the restaurant did close, we moved on to the After-Partayy at where else, The Curve! (yet another hang out spot in KL). We chose the happening Laundry Bar as our nest and the nite continues… I did try to stick on to my no-liquor-no-nothing policy, but after much coaxing from frens and I didn't wanna seemed like a party-pooper, I caved in to peer pressure – finished a Flaming Lamborghini – my first! Eew the taste was crap but *breathes in* no problem lah! We did moved upstairs to Sanctuary Club but due to the high cover charges, we decided to juz hang round outside Sanctuary taking pics and having fun! Pics are up in Facebook ( the ones I got tagged to ). I will post more after my peak kiez.

Next day, Sun 19 oct – since Adrian our Chairman was not around for both days, took some of us out again and we had a Korean Steamboat get-together to compensate being MIA for my important day!

Before I end this post, once again I would like to thank everyone who made this birthday an unforgettable one =) , all those cakes, all those surprises, presents, cards, phone calls and everyone else who sent text messages, walls on Facebook and Friendster and wherenot. Thank you so much for making this girl feel loved and lucky to have u all as friends. Here are some of those text messages ppl but to the FB wallers which i had missed out, fret not, ur on my wall page aights and i know ur there =)

Peeps in the UK - Bisi, Sophie, Lauren, Shing Ying, Pei Sian, May, Vith, Yan

Aussie - Yings and oh my all u ozzz grads

Penang X-Alt Youth woooohooo - Amos, Adeline, Honey, Malar, Rach, Paul, Ronald, all u lots!

everyone else - James, Andrew, Ashiq

Last but not least the lovely one and only Armani =D who send text msgs every hour telling me happy birthday from around the world ! Not forgetting the calls and the walls =) I received the package from London safely and guess what, guess what.... there's a cute lil bear inside, with a birth cert, passport and all. Best of all, when i press the lil bear's paw, it has a personalised msg inside with Armani's voice *ahh faints* . 3 birthday cards with 3 unique birthday wish. And an iPod shuffle inside with the video comprising of the making-of the lil bear, videos of birthday wishes from himself, his sis and cousin, his workmates, his college council friends, my friends back in college. How did he ever got them all to do this stint. Makes me wonder... What more could a girl ask for? =) Thanks Armani for making this the bestest birthday ever ! Muah !

Anyways I'd better stop here before i bore u all with my stories, felt bad for being this self-talking kid sometimes... will crap about some of the characters in my life a bit more in the next blog. Till then, I hope u enjoy reading as much as I did penning them down =)

HUGS n see ya in me next bloggie!

Heartbreaker

Listening to : Chris Brown – With You

Charm says : There's hearts all over the world tonight… with the love of their life who feel… what I feel when I'm WITH YOU.. WITH YOU WITH YOU with you….

Wow. Nice song innit… I need you boo… gotta see u boo…

What is it with love anyway.

Gets you all flustered and jittery.. excited… ecstatic…

And then drops u down like a hot cake.

It's worse when you're the one having to drop the cake.. Burns your fingers (not to mention mess up the floor)

It kills u so much just to face that person n say it…

Or u'd rather text or send an email

Either way… you are the heartbreaker. Pathetic loser… At least in my book at the mo.

Which means… I have a big letter 'L' plastered on my forehead. Just like harry potter's but without the power (damn it!)

Ok jokes aside.

I feel like such a terrible evil mean horrible cruel being. I know there's a grammatical error somewhere but wth let's pretend there isn't…

3 in a weekend. How cool is that. I'm not bragging. I'm embarrassing myself by actually retelling stuff here.

This is a public apology…

I AM SORRY… YOU DON'T DESERVE SOMEONE LIKE ME AND YOU'RE BETTER OFF WITH SOMEONE ELSE WHO WOULD APPRECIATE U EVEN MORE THAN I DID

It's not easy telling someone who cares so much about u to just let go and never look back. Try doing that 3 times in a span of 4 days.

N to think that one of them is someone u might actually wanna be with, but you're just too afraid of God knows what…

To be fair, I choose to let go of every option. N stick to my capital L for lame life here in KL.

Everything else I wanna say… I sorta did… I'm sorry i'm not doing you justice by this pathetic blogpost but I don't know what should be said at this point and what shouldn't..

U take care aight… I'll see you round I guess…

I'm sorry readers my blog is going nowhere but this is for specific reasons… just a note.

Working In KL

Listening to : David Cook's rendition of Hello (hurray for zee American Idol 7 winner!)

As promised me is gonna tell a lil bit about work here, as loadsie frens have asked and all…However, due to professional and privacy reasons, some things are gonna remain vague and general, aight?

I am currently doing my internship in a company (though I wonder if it should be called firm hmmm). I was actually offered a permanent position, but I asked for interns coz initial plan was that I renew my overseas visa, so that after this 2 months' internship, I would return to London, England to look for job/further studies.

Given much thought and lots of lecture from friends, from young to old, I decided not to renew my visa, and head home for this intern and then prolly start permanent job after 2 months.

So here I am, a trainee in a company in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. Earning like 1/3 of fresh graduates pay ie very little ie I am struggling to survive LOL. But I'll hang on there coz God always provides.

Work is great, I am currently in an assignment and my team members are fun people. Although they joke around and are often bubbly, when it comes to work, they are really competent and intelligent… the way they click this-that functions in the computer, the way they state their facts and all those terms...whoa just blows me off. From time to time I somehow feel inferior and small but hey u start from scratch so I'll just try my best I guess.

Don't worry nobody at work knows about my blog so I am not trying to apple polish whatsoever. {Grins}

Often I was shown steps once and was expected to master it. Well this happens often when u start working, it's not like school, college and uni where u get guidance step by step etc. Mistakes was tolerable at school, wasn't it? Exams – if u get 50% wrong u could still pass. But at work, it's do and hit it right. Or face the music. And at work, u cant check personal mails, play games, chat online etc. At least not in my workplace. LOL

Wow I know I am starting to sound super monotonous. This is prolly the boring-est blog ever. Wait it gets better.

I sleep at 10ish pm every night. WOW Lame. Wait wait it gets even better. I wake up at 6am, get ready for work, and then walk to the main road (munching my breakfast on the way), catch a bus at 7am or wait another 15-20 mins if u miss it, which drops me off opposite the LRT station (Light Railway Transit which is sort of like DLR in London) . Wait for LRT 5-15 mins depending on human traffic, travel for 40 mins, walk another 15 mins to work. Start work at 8.30 am. Work work work and then I get off at 6ish pm, the whole travelling cycle repeats vice versa, so i reach home almost 8pm. Shower, eat and prolly check couple of mails, and then sleep. And next day it starts again.

I have no life seriously. What about weekends? Oh weekends is for study. Righttt.

I cant wait for exams to be over. At lease I can have my weekends back. Unless work requires me to labour on Saturdays… Noooo

We'll see. Hey u all students out there. Enjoy this moment as much as u can. Working life is tough no joke about it. Look at me. =(

Still Alive

Yeah baby.. Charm's still alive and kicking. Once again sorry for being MIA for decades. Too many stuff, too little time…lalala all that la.. u know la.. ya la.. (wow feels so good to use 'lah' again!)

First up, I'm back in Malaysia. YEAHHH BABYYY ! Charmster's back in town. Erm not quite actually. I mean… I'm in Kuala Lumpur (KL) at the mo. Not Penang - Our beautiful island where the fun never ceases… {Big grin}

Whoa let's do a retrospective timeline on updates. Can meh so long wo. Can laaa. Inikan Charmine Tung. {Bigger grin}

Ok since last post. Well I've been here and there in London hanging out and stuff, going out with friends for farewell lunches/dinners/outings/overnight-stays. Sighhhhhh I miss you all in London so so much weiiiii…. And a year ago I was like in this pathetic state of mind (which I can be at times) where I was feeling miserable being in cold gloomy London studying last minute (as usual) for my exams. Actually there was a valid reason for being miserable as some of you might know. (Well we wouldn't go into that area now, would we?) And now one year later I cant let go of London. I'm actually getting used to living there and thinking of getting a UK PR. As in Permanent Resident holder. {Wide-tooth-grin}

Anyways I wanted to make this a special "I-Miss-London-So-GD-Much" post where I'm gonna mention some of those special friends here that make my life so colourful in gray London. But I have a strict military style timeline (yeah right) and so I would reschedule that special post ya. {winkx}

As I was saying, everything was in a rush as I tried to accommodate everyone and tried to settle my stuff as well yada yada. My luggage was 30 over kg (note we can only have a limit of 20-25kg) and the lady at the counter wouldn't let me in unless I pay the penalty for excess weight. I forgot how much it was but I think it's sumtin like £20 per kilo? Die man I started chucking stuff out and was left with urgent stuff that I really need home pronto. The rest would be shipped back home together with my other belongings. After showing some college letter and some persuasion, I was let in.

I cried like crap at the airport coz I cant let go of this place which brings so much fond memories. After all the hugging and goodbyes I am on zee plane…

Airbus mind you. {Grins} It's really comfortable and I had 1 whole row to myself so I could lie down straight yayy…

{ok now back to solemn tone}

I'm leaving on a jet plane… Don't know when I'll be back again… Oh babe I hate to go…ohhhh

Flight was miserable. Memories kept flooding in. I read everyone's farewell card and couldn't stop having tears. Especially Amman's where he wrote part 2 of the crystal forest story. =( Well I guess life goes on. Or does it?

……….

Anyway flight reached Singapore safely where I was picked up by good ol' Charles. He got everything sorted out for me there and I was grateful for having him around. Showed me round Singapore before dropping me at the coach station where I board the Bus to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia (Malaysia is sort of between Thailand and Singapore). Reason why my journey's like this is because it's cheaper this way and I'm sure you all know how tight my budget is right? So yea.

Reach KL safely after 5 hours, was picked up by Jeremy, Winda and Lydia. And so I am staying with them, along with Timmy and Shafiq, the other 2 dudes in the condo. Ok it sounds bombastic and all, me staying in a condominium but it's actually pretty dodgy with weird pervert-looking guys around.

I got followed last Thu night as I was coming home from a birthday party. I freaked out like crap and kept praying for protection the whole time. I mean, anytime that fella could've pointed out a knife at me at the lift and there wouldn't be anything I could do about it. I got home safe and texted to my family n some Christian brothers and sisters for prayer requests. Thanks for the prayers Amos, Daniel, Sam, Jo and Ling.

My parents gave me the ultimatum.

DO NOT GO OUT ANYMORE UNLESS PROPER FRIENDS DROP U ON YOUR DOORSTEP.

NO GOING OUT AT ALL TILL AFTER YOUR EXAMS.

Hmmm. No comments. Coz it's all justified. So yea..

Anywaysss more stuff about work would be in next blog. Righttt up yippppieeee

Quick Refresh

Alright alright I know I'm a bad blogger. No, make that crappy. Disorganised. Lack of momentum-ness. Lazy. Busy with God-knows-what. However u put it. Hmmm… I apologise for my incompetency in keeping up-to-date on my blog. =(

And once again apologies to all my blogger friends for not being able to read their blogs and updates, or reply to comments… dadada all those sorts…. Soweeeee

Just a quick update. I'll make this very short ok… coz its 11.30pm now and I am super worn out from a day out with friends in Chessington Theme Park =) plus I need to wake up super early to bring Ben to see a doc next morn and then rush over to help Amman move house before rushing again to buy ingredients lalala to cook for landlady's family who's coming back from a trip and she's super exhausted to cook so I'll be zee chef for zee day. Whoa. Did u managed to catch your breath reading that last sentence lol !

Anyway, as I was saying. Short. Ok fire away!

1. From laaaast update, hmm I had went to a Barn Stay over at Darvin's guardian Mr Michael Nicholson's place. Warren Court Farm. Beautiful place I must say and the view was nice! Plus the barn that we stayed in was more like a hotel room. Damn nice wei. Pictures not available coz I think uploading-pictures time does not fit into the 24 hours that God granted me so yea. Hehe… But if u had spotted me in MSN a month ago then u might've seen some of the barn pics though. Ok ok I will upload in Facebook somewhere in August this year when I might be more free. Hahha no I'm serion. (in a distinct south asian accent)

LOL yea I hang out too much with Amman so I picked up lots of south asian type of pronunciation (note not middle east) that we alwiz joke around with… not that he has much of anyway… he speaks with an American accent (note not British) given the i-don't-know years living there. Or so he says. Hmm anyway… for the moment I'll just bracket words telling the accent so u'll know when to change, ok?

Did I said this post was gonna be short. Pffft U actually believed me? How can things be short and sweet when it comes to charm and her grandmother stories. And also given the amount of days and minutes and not forgetting seconds I've gone MIA, u would cut me some slack, won't u? Hehehe that's why me love u dear reader =)

2. Back to updates. Yes ma'am. I had also went to Sunderland and Newcastle again… to visit Felicia and Junnie. It was Feli's birthday and we wanna be there for her so this trip is worth it, though I must admit travelling 7 hours by bus at midnite to and fro gets into my tees. Well almost. Very bad (south asian accent) . On the bright side
I managed to visit Newcastle and Sunderland Football stadium yay.
We got Feli 21 roses for her 21st birthday =) Feli I hope u like every moment we had tried making this birthday special for ya! Pictures should be in FB in Feli's profile coz August aint coming yet! *wink* Please tell me u caught my drift… coz I am too lazy to elaborate..

3. Easter fun with church friends. Well going church is actually fun, believe it or not. And being able to commemorate that on this day Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins is just awesome. Easter isn't about easter bunnies, eggs and chocolates. It's all commercialized etc as years go by. Good Friday is the day Jesus was crucified and on the 3rd day, Easter Sunday, he was resurrected, meaning risen again to be with God in heaven.

4. Work and project. Yeah was like working coz money doesn't grow on trees. (Really? U serion?) N I was trying to finish my research and analysis project to get a bachelor's degree on top of my ACCA. God willing I'll be graduating by end of this year. Hah I'm proud to say I self-support this new degree fees and also my expenses since exams. Take that, poverty! Hah. (Just a note, I always say "take that you blabla" for effect) I sleep 1-4 hours per day trying to finish the project, and not sleeping the whole night before the deadline. No exaggeration I'm serion! I need to have more time management... or i'll just literally DIE of over-exhaustion.

5. I went for a trip to Ireland with Felicia to visit Wen Yen - medical in Dublin =) We visited Bray (where they filmed PS I LOVE YOU i think), Galway, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and also Dublin itself. Oh yea Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom but South Ireland is not, so they use euro here instead of pound. And taking note that pound had weaken against lots of currencies, aku sudah rugi bila tukar duit (loss in exchange rate). Actually the trip was pretty interesting, coz we went thru certain experiences that u would never encounter just sitting down in front of your pc/laptop playing dota or scrolling facebook. Hahha sorry I know I'm mean. =D

But looking at the clock which says 12.15 am, I am so tempting to end soon and tell bout Ireland some other time. Wow I took 45 mins to type till this point? No wait I had cooked phone broth in the middle hehe.

6. Chessington World of Adventures =). Thanks Amit hun for arranging this trip which took forever to get everyone to agree on a date. And thanks for giving in to make this day available for me =) seeing many others cant make it. HUGS =D and thank you for the wonderful hot chocolate =) u see all these smiles are for u hehe…

We all had so much fun going on all the big rides… Coz honestly, I am afraid of roller coasters. La di da I have a weak heart (past asthma experiences) and so I cant take too risky rides. Once during Pesta in Penang my sis insisted I go on a thrill ride with her. I was suffering the entire ride and after that ended up gasping for breath, vomitting and feeling dizzy etc my parents almost rushed me to the hospital. Sshh I know its embarrassing.

Anyway I sat on almost all the big rides except for Dragon's fury which was really really scary even Amit, Theresa and Pei Sian admit that. As usual I was chickening out on almost every ride, and would not have gotten on much, if not for the fact that everyone blocked all exit routes and hold me tight till I get on the ride. Which I'm glad coz there's no regrets at the end of the day!

7. I really am gonna hit the sack now so I'll see u guys soon ok? PS I'm still in London, going back end of April dadada will confirm stuff when I've settled it all. Meanwhile, take care and God bless !

Love ya all.

P.S. Blog style is more like updating stuff instead of editorial posts or anything etc coz my blog is to update on myself as promised to most of my friends. And if u find anything offensive here whatsoever I do sincerely apologise coz u know la I am so dungu and blur I tend to not notice things so yea.

Busy Bee in the Making

Feeling :
Stuffed from heavy breakfast ( I know I know its past 1pm now... )
Listening to :

The Way I Are Remix by Timbaland ft Keri Hilson & Francisco
Charm says :
I like this version coz Francisco sounds sooo man… [ sighhhh ] You're the type of girl I wanna show woo ohh… Show what type of man I am and how I roll ohh…

First up, I owe my readers a Big Apology for not updating lately about stuff and all…

SOWWWEEEEEE….

I was kinda caught up with lots of things going on. Working every evening till midnite from Mon to Sat and off on Sun where I'm involved in church almost the whole day. Day time I would either be in City Business Library doing my Degree research or get called for day shifts or go for seminar/talk in different uni or catch up with my sleep.

I hardly have time to meet up with my bestie Amman since he's working 9am to 5pm. When he gets off, I would somehow be occupied. Still, we find time for each other so it's cool. Plus I have to apportion my free time for other friends as well. ( Wow you have friends? ). Anyways, everything else in my life is pretty much the same ( yeah right ), except for some events I went to, which I wanna share with you guys here..

1. My friend Fulvio from Brazil invited me to a Brazillian Wedding last month. It was more of a typical English / American style coz you know, it would be costly to do your own traditional ones, especially here in London. He was one of the best man so he gets the liberty to bring a partner, voila… yours truly =)

2. Amit invited me to an Annual Ball on a Cruise Boat ! It was sooooo awesome… and the 1st song they played was The Way I Are as what I was listening to a moment ago. Everything for the ball was soo last min and I really mean last minute coz I only got all my stuff few hours before it starts. ( Coz earlier the day I was in a Chinese New Year luncheon party where there's soo many oriental leng chai muahaha ) . Pei Sian and I was hurrying all over Regent Street, crossing roads dangerously and fighting to get the fitting room. Lol.

Dress checked. Scarf, Heels, Tights checked. Make up. All set. Partner? Wait noo. Amman. Checked. Force him to get all dressed up. Yes. Checked. And we're ready to roll.

I was literally running in my new heels coz I was soo afraid the MV Royalty would start sailing without us. And then I remembered. Accessories? Not checked. Best friends or not, Amman is still a guy and would never understand how a girl dresses up. Now would be the time to wish Sher & Joy were around coz they'll always make sure I put everything on. No earrings, no bracelet, watch, necklace. Never mind lalala I look perfect. Perasan-nya (Full of it) I know =)

Ooh lala the ball was awesome… there's a professional photographer who takes everyone's pics when they walk inside so it's like Hollywood style lol. But he charges £25 for 2 pictures like what the?? I didn't buy any so yea. When we started sailing, I was practically screaming, "WAHHH THIS IS SOOOOO COOOLLLLLLL !!" I am actually moving past London Eye and Big Ben ! I was like so childish being so excited and jumpy I know it's embarrassing but who cares, "WAHHHHHHH !!"

We sailed first west bound past Vauxhall Bridge, Chelsea Bridge, and those posh area dadada… and then the boat turns wooohoo and we sailed back and then past Westminster Bridge, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, towards my dream workplace Canary Wharf (which looks a bit like New York).

Lucky me I get to witness a beautiful love story of 2 person I know very well. Due to privacy purposes I wouldn't mention their names. I was watching them from afar and I couldn't help smiling at how things turn out between them. =) I will write of this story in my next blog so wait up!

Hmm I was flanked by 2 hot guys Amit & Amman and I should've taken more pictures with them but I don't have a proper camera so yea. Trust me there are lots of hot girls and guys so lalala mata rambang as I go… weeeee

3. Remember how 29 Feb only comes once in 4 years? ( Like duh charm, that is a stupid question. Everyone knows that ). Ok ok alright, no need to fire away like that!

O this day, Amman and I booked a dinner in a restaurant called Terrace inside the 5-Star Hotel Le Meridien at Piccadilly. We got all dressed up again and pretended to be posh hahaha. I must say, he is good in acting like he earns a million pound in a week ala English footballers. U should've seen him. Makes u wanna slap him. I've got customers in my restaurant behaving like that and trust me, I so wanna give 'em a piece of my mind, so yea. Anyways, Me? I was again… "wahhhh this is soooo cooollll !" "Ahhhh 5 star wei… walau eh !"

He was like, 'Charmine… please, behave yourself.."
I was pouting and give a, "Yes Mr Shah."

Party pooper. Hmmph but minutes later I was again... "wahhhh this is sooo kewlllll !" U can tell how Kampung (village) I am. People were staring but, like who cares, it's not like I cant afford it. Actually yea I cant, but Mr Shah can, so yay. =) I am not a gold digger if that's what you're getting at !

Well I guess that is a summary of what has happened lately. Pictures are below. Enjoy !

Valentine’s Day – Over-Rated?

First of all, I wanna wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day =)

Now, the big question. Is Valentine's Day really over-rated?

Well if you've got a BIG date, BIG plans for it and all those yada-yada… then, hell no!

What about those gorgeous singles out there? When you walk past display stores reminding you of this day, what actually goes round your mind? The balloon hearts, flowers, jewelleries, cards, chocolates, presents. Oh please. Not another shop telling you for the 115th time it's this thu and luring you to buy something you don't need or to get you into the mood. You'll probably agree with the title. Or not... Well you must have your reasons for not celebrating this special day today, and I respect that. ("And the crowd goes, shut up charm you're so rubbing it in!") No I'm not! ("Oh cut the oh-so-drama gurl!")

*drags lil miss chirpy out of the audience*

There. Silence now.

Yes I was saying…

Valentine's Day.

So… what are your plans for today? You know, Valentine's Day is NOT just for couples, it's really a day of celebrating this special day with people that you love. I don't know about you, but I love my family to bits. If I'm back home now, I wouldn't go out with anyone else but my family.

("That's coz you don't have anyone asking you out back home!")

Wait haven't I thrown her out of my audience? SECURITY!

Tsk Tsk. Some people. Things they'll do for attention…

As I was saying, yea I actually planned to hang out with my family, if I had went back for the CNY. My mom'll be my Valentine of honour
(like bridesmaid of honour) and my whole family'll have a ball ! Haha the restaurant will be full of couples but the Tung-sterks'll make so much noise we're so totally gonna rock the atmosphere for them LOL !

And yea besides spending this special day with your family, you could probably hang out with your mates, be it a potato-couching moment or nite out partay! But please party responsibly okiez? Don't go overboard. Don't let a good nite out end up in a drag. Yea the nagging mom side is taking over.

Well another alternative is, you could go on a date! Why haven't I thought of that earlier? Wow this is brilliant, a date! (in a sarcastic tone)

Thing is, if you wanna do something, do it to the fullest, put your best foot forward. If you wanna plan something, well, make it special. Don't just sit around procrastinating, or just waiting for IT to happen, coz, you know, FUN don't come crawling to you, you would have to make an effort.

You might say, it's a guy's job. Well, girls can plan stuff too ya know. It doesn't alwiz have to be the cliché of guys making the surprises blablabla. Wait I'm sorta being insensitive here. I don't know who does what in a same-gender relationship, but I think both sorta compromise in doing their part I guess. And I'm not being sarcastic, if that's what you're getting at.

And about V-day being over-rated, well nahh I don't think so… it sorta at least apportion a day out of 365 for people all over to show extra Lurrvee on this special day. That Extra kick for the moment, you know? Be it for your mom, dad, siblings, grandparents, kids, cousins, aunt, uncle, neighbor, colleague, boss? , sub-ordinate, teacher, guardian, FRIENDS, your beloved SPOUSE, your pet, the tree in your garden? , aiya just about anything la…

So come on, there's no excuse for not celebrating Valentine's Day! Stop being a party-pooper.. go let your hair down and show some lurrrvee baby…

Muahaha the question you're probably dying to ask is, what's charm's plan for the day…

*wink wink*

I'm just gonna spend the evening with my best friend and room-mate. Well at 1st, Amman got us book for Gordon Ramsay's at Mayfair. I had joked about wanting GD for V-day and I didn't know he actually took the liberty of placing a booking there. It costs approx 85 pounds for a 3-course meal per person I'm not joking.

And then he pulled my leg by saying let's go to Nando's on that day. Ok I know him and I aren't a couple, but hello, Nando's? On Valentine's Day? Come on… My face was super BLACK and whoa, you wouldn't wanna mess with me at that moment. I could KILL with my stare.

I got off the tube not speaking to him and went to work. Later that nite he called to say that Gordon Ramsay's was meant to be a surprise and I felt so silly to blow my own surprise gosh how can I be so siu hei in the 1st place.

But then my boss kept wanting me to work on Valentine's Day coz we have got bookings and will be very busy on thu. Amman too have to work from 9 to 5 so in the end GD was cancelled coz both lunch and dinner is out of the question. Even so, GD's price is whacked man, I mean I know celebrities go there, but what are the chances of me meeting James Blunt or Hugh Grant or Keira Knightley having a Valentine's dinner there?

Ok they might, so let's just pretend they wont, so I wont feel bad, ok?

After much negotiation with my boss, who's actually a very nice guy, today he said I could get off on Thu! (I got flowers and a heart-shaped box of Ferrero Roche from my boss today but due to excessiveness, I sorta gave them to my room-mate. Trust me, too much chocs give u spots! N I have no more extra vase so yea). Anyway, by then, it's too late. GD was cancelled. We got Galileo's in Piccadilly instead.

And then I thought of something. Why join the band-wagon of effect? I am the kind of person who wants things to be special. So I decided, to ditch the eating-out plans, and instead, cook for him and my room-mate, 3 of us could enjoy the nite together. Sounds like a plan? Yea it is. We're not joining zee crowd.

Nothing beats spending time with people you love. And this is my plan. What's yours?

Oh-so-sudden

Life is so fragile, innit?

One moment you're here, and the next… poof… you're gone. Just like that.

You think you're so sure of something.

Perhaps your career path. Your life partner. Or even that nasi kandar you're gonna tapau after a nite out at Zouk's.

But u can never be too certain about it all.

After all, we're only human.

Incapable of changing the course of nature.

I once know of a girl named Nian Ning. From Ranger's camp… though not close, but still… I do recall fractions of memories in my fuzzy wheel of thoughts.. Tall, energetic and knows what she wants in life... She has a bubbly smile and friendly nature… During JOTA reunion, a big group of us were playing games and I happen to got hold of the card that was suppose to do some dare with a guy. Knowing that I am so shy at that time, she told me not to worry about it, swapped cards with me… and ended up doing the dare instead. We became friends since then... U might think it's just a small thing. I don't so yea...

Many years had passed, I just never thought that the next time I'm hearing from her is through forwarded mails telling she passed away in a bus crash.

I'm sure many of u had heard or read about the Slim River bus crash on 25th January 2008, claiming the lives of 3 people – Lee Nian Ning, Mohd. Zailani & Pang Boon Eng, and injuring 24 others.

The double decker bus was heading from Penang to Kuala Lumpur. Passengers claimed that the driver was texting a lot whilst driving! He was also speeding in the pouring rain. Somehow the driver lost control of the bus, causing it to spin 3 times, slamming into a divider, and careened to the opposite highway. An oncoming Honda Odyssey MPV crashed into the back of the bus, where Nian Ning & Mohd. Zailani were sitting at the back row, claiming their lives. Pang Boon Eng was in a critical condition, he passed away in the hospital the next morning.

The bus driver escaped with a broken right leg. He had 7 summonses issued against him for speeding, 5 for illegal overtaking and 1 for not using an overhead bridge. Needless to say, this man should not even be allowed on the roads, given his numerous summon tickets.

To Lee Nian Ning, Mohd. Zailani & Pang Boon Eng, may your soul rest in peace.

Petition For Safer Bus Rides

We, the concerned youths of Malaysia, express appalled anger towards the Slim River Bus Crash incident that claimed the life of Lee Nian Ning, Mohd. Zailani and Pang Boon Eng on the 25th of January 2008. This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred. Despite numerous complaints and public uproar in the past, incidents like this continue to occur. It was reported that the driver’s company had 13 summonses on that bus itself. We find it unacceptable that such a company could have operated that vehicle on the road.

What are the explanations?

Hundreds of thousands of university students just like Nian Ning and us rely on such public transport to travel back home. A human life should not be taken lightly.

How could a vehicle with 13 summonses be free on the roads and not be held by the authorities?

We, the following, hereby demand that the relevant authorities set up a committee consisting of road safety experts and representatives from relevant public bodies to conduct a thorough study to find effective solutions to ensure that mistakes like this do not occur again in the future.

We will not be quiet until we see it in the media that satisfactory measures have been taken.

First of all, I wanna wish my friends a very HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR ~ whooopp !

I am gonna miss all those CNY partay-ing, ang pau collecting & cookies galore, that's for sure… U all have fun without me kiez… Sobz… Neways I have couple of announcements to make over here, so yea…

1. As many of u might already know, due to last minute change of plans, I am not going home for the CNY celebration. My flight was post-poned to mid April. Let me explain ya. U see, if I go back for good during CNY, I have too little time to settle my stuff here. U know, box up stuff to ship home, rental, accounts, (farewell parties?), etc etc, u get the idea… If I fly back to London after CNY and then back to Penang again in April, it's a bit costly and not practical… So… best solution is to delay the flight and so yup I'm still here in the UK.

Sorry for not being able to inform about the last min change of plans. Thank you so much for the texts to my digi num and calling up my house phone in Penang to make plans hehe… sorry ahhh I'm not back yet… and lou poh shing ying I got your msg… you're the sweetest lou poh =) sorry I cant teman u and the gang coming weekend... ahhhhh u all make me regret not being able to be there nia...

Hmm I warn all u Pg guys ahhh dun steal my lou poh, fei zi & darlings k =P

2. Great Grandma still hanging on strong and has accepted Christ. YAY !! Praise the Lord =)

3. Mom's chest pains (suspected of TB or sumtin sumtin culosis, gosh these jargons!) has subsided. So far, so good. Thank you AMOS for fetching my mom to GH and my siblings to tuition/school. Mom is still too busy with work to go seek 2nd opinion. If I'm back home, I would have dragged her to Loh Guan Lai, Adventist or Gleneagles I don't care how much they charge as long as they heal her.

4. I am going back for good in mid April (date to be confirmed later on) for interns and job in KL. I wont mention the place from now onwards for privacy reasons. And I hope u all understand and also help in not mentioning about my whole job thingy. Thank you =)

5. Apologies for the late blog updates. And sorry to my blogger friends, namely Trish, Jess, Prem, Amit, Jono, Janice, Grace, Kuria, in fact everyone in my list. No time to visit your pages… Been kinda busy lately.. I just got back from work & showered. Gonna hit the sack soon so yea…

6. Oh right… lately… I started working in a restaurant in Clapham. Only thing I don't like is, getting home at midnite. Today there's this freaky deranged guy who kepts arguing with the driver and threatens to shoot him. Who just got off 1 stop before me. Don't worry, Amman's gonna follow me home tmr onwards. But this thing cant keep going on coz I seriously don't like troubling people and also putting their lives at stake. He'll come after work and wait till I finish church evening service, out with frens etc or send me till where the train stops. I've gotta get 'em pepper spray pronto.

7. Remember how I used to say I have a boyfriend to ward off people? It doesn't really work. So now I say I'M MARRIED. HAHAHA. I'm not joking. Like that time I got home at 3.30am after a birthday party, 2 guys in a car stopped to approach me on my way home. I GOT SO TOTALLY FREAKED OUT and walked the opposite direction towards the main road fast. They drove their car beside me and was like.. "hey lady… u seemed lonely… wanna come inside (their car) for a chat?"

I kept shaking my head and walk faster. They were kinda persistent so I juz said in a stern voice, "Look, I'm married. I have 2 kids waiting for me at home."

They were like, "alright… sorry ma'am" and drove off. Pheww I guess u wont like srewing round with someone else's mom right… coz then u know… u'll be a mother-ahem-toooot hahahahah… Ok stop it charm. This is not funny. N Thank you Lord for keeping me safe alwiz =)

8. London can be pretty scary at nite huh. No actually, anywhere in the world, it's not safe when it gets dark. ESPECIALLY after midnite. SO PLEASE BE ALERT AND CAREFUL AT ALL TIMES. PLUS TRY NOT TO GET HOME SO LATE, ok?

9. Well I guess that's all. Have a good week ahead, and if you're celebrating CNY, HAPPY NEW YEAR once again. Drive safely. U know how it's like during festive seasons.. Take care of your belongings, again BE ALERT at all times. Wear proper clothing gosh I know the girls back home are wearing skimpy-ier by the day, even primary school ones. And the boys... haiz... getting more wild and perverted. What has this world become?

Ok, ok... nagging mom is going to sleep now. Ahem. Mom with 2 kids. So yea lights out in 3…….2…....1…..
