
Under gray skies, the ruins of the Tintern abbey are seen from an old 16th century bridge over a tidal waters in Wexford, Ireland. This roofless splendor on the banks of the River Wye was built in 1131 A.D by Cistercian monks. It was dissolved and destroyed by King Henry VIII.
