A stormy and windswept fjord in southern part of New Zealand. Storm clouds are on the horizon and a group of trees have created a tangle of gnarled limbs as the ground slopes towards the glacial lake. This is a unique landscape where furious winds blow through the area and making trees bent backwards to survive. The color of this lake is a delicate turquoise due to the presence of fine particles of rock, known as glacial flour. From a photo taken in fall of 2022.  Watercolor. © 2024
