The Pont Valentré

An old six span fortified stone arch bridge, the Pont Valentre across the River Lot in Cahors, France. The sunlit quiet river with reflections of the arches can be seen with dense greenery surrounding it. On the bridge are couple of figures gazing down at the water below. In the fore ground are bushes of lavender growing wild. The Pont Valentré is a pedestrian bridge built in the 14th-century due to tensions between England and France during the Hundred year war.
