When I was a little girl, my sisters (who were 12 and 15 years older than me) had a HUGE old record player/stereo. It was one of those that looked like a sideboard. You lifted the top and inside was the record player, radio, and if I’m remembering correctly, it even played 8 tracks! They kept it in their room until they both moved out when I was 6 or 7, and then my parents slid it into the living room to use as furniture. My sisters had tons of records and I loved playing them, even though the music was definitely not particularly child friendly. But when you grow up in a house with adults and people who were about to be, sometimes they don’t always remember that your ears are still little.

I have no idea what happened to that old record player. My mom was not one for sentimentality and when our house was remodeled when I was 16, she happily got rid of basically all of our furniture. But I have to wonder… Did she take the nickel off of the record player arm first??

It’s strange, but I’ve been feeling a lot more like myself lately. Or, I guess I should say, the myself that I was many years ago before SL and RL drama happened and I went downhill and all that jazz. Maybe it’s time for the Leo in me to shine. Maybe it’s going to be a hot girl summer. Who knows? The possibilities are endless!

I’ve Been Out Here On The Wind

It is almost Easter! When I was little, Easter was the start of bbq season for us. It didn’t matter how warm it had been already, my dad wouldn’t pull out the grill until Easter. He never had a fancy grill and never wanted one. He always picked the same type – the one that is round and only takes charcoal. We’d get hamburger patties, hot dogs, and chicken for him to cook for us. And he’d set up his lawn chair and grab a Coke and sit by the grill for hours making sure everything was cooking properly and the charcoal stayed hot. I have never, not once, had a hot dog as good as what my dad would make. I am pretty good on the grill myself, I can make a steak better than anything you’d get at a steakhouse. But I can’t replicate the hot dogs. I think it’s the charcoal. Or maybe it was just my dad.

I Found A Brand New Kinda Me

Oof, sorry for the almost 2 week break here. It wasn’t super intentional, but I’ve been doing good-for-me RL stuff. I needed a new doctor, I needed bloodwork, I needed other things done that I didn’t want to do but are necessary. And truthfully, I feel good about it. Even though I was very anxious about everything, it turned out that none of it was that bad at all. I actually feel more confident now that I am doing this, which is a little odd, but I’ll take it. I’ve also been sharing more about my SLife on social media, and it’s very freeing. I just like writing, but it’s actually been quite good for my mental health. I’m getting to the me I want to be – fun, outspoken, opinionated, happy.

I am a Leo, after all.
