So Many Reasons For Me To Run And Hide

I have to admit, I’m not much of an outdoors person in my offline life. I know. Everyone always says to go into nature, it’s healing, it’s fun, it’s amazing! Is it really, though? It’s kind of hot. And there are bugs. And pollen. And dirt. I’ve never been camping before. When I was little, my extended family would get a cabin at one of the state parks and we would go spend the day there, but by sunset, my dad would load us back up into the car and we’d go to a hotel. He didn’t believe in sleeping outside when there was a perfectly good Holiday Inn nearby. 😂

But I do like being outside in SL. If I’m not on my platform, I’m in my yard or sitting by the water. No dirt involved.

Her Dreams Are Picture Perfect

I’ve still been having a lot of fun playing with the Aperture Viewer. I don’t tend to use it for anything but photos, though. I’m not entirely sure why because it really does run well. But I find that Firestorm seems to load everything a lot faster when I’m out. I have to actually finish some “work” today (meaning I’m about to record my Equal10 video) and I think I’m going to do it using Aperture. I think it’ll be better because it seems to run well on my computer, and I’d like to see how it does while I’m also running my recording software.

Have you tried it out yet? If you have, how do you like it? My computer is not very updated at the moment, so I think for me to be able to run it as well as I do and as quietly as it runs, it really might be an option for those with older systems! And no, no one is paying me to say that. It’s just honestly what I think. 🙂

I’m No Cheap Thrill

When PBR first came out and people started making clothes, the common complaint was “Why is everything SHINY?” Because, let’s be honest, a lot of it was. But I feel like creators are getting in their groove now regarding PBR and the textures are SO good for a lot of places now! I love it so much.

Of course, when you want shiny, you want shiny. And there will NEVER be anything wrong with that. Shine on, diamonds!

She’s Gonna Keep On Making Wishes

It’s been a year since my mom had The Big Fall and landed in the hospital, then in the nursing home. As much as I didn’t think I could survive it at the time, I have survived. More than survived, if I’m being honest. Unfortunately, the return of my anxiety happened this last week. That chest crushing kind of anxiety. I have to say, that was a super unwelcome visitor! I can’t believe that used to be my daily life. Luckily, I’m a little more prepared for life these days, so I handled what I needed to handle.

But now I’m in “post-survival burnout” mode. My nervous system has to regulate and get out of fight or flight mode. Supposedly this is a good thing. But it’s making me unable to get into anything! Reading? Nah, not interested in new books. Watching shows or movies? No thanks. Gaming? I don’t know what that is. Be creative in SL? Hahaha! It’s really kind of a mess! But I’ll go through it if it gets me to the other side. And I’ll just keep making my wishes that everything settles back down soon enough.
