I can’t remember what my future partner and I were talking about yesterday, but he’d mentioned a brand (RL) and I said “Oh right, I know that, I used to hang out with skaters.” And I did, too. Have I ever set foot on a skateboard? Absolutely not. I have the worst sense of balance possible! But it had me also thinking about other groups I was part of while growing up. The band kids, forever and always. I will, in my heart, always be a band nerd. The skaters, because I loved the aesthetic and the music. For a little bit, I hung out with the super churchy crowd. Good kids, really, but I think I was delighting too hard in cursing around them and then I felt bad because honestly, they WERE nice people. And then… the country lovers. Oh my word, I went all in on that. Because I was raised on country music, and I really liked boots.
Basically, my whole vibe was “Is the fashion good?”
But, as you do, I grew up and I discovered it’s much more fun to get with people because they’re people, not just because they wear cute shoes or jewelry. And honestly, that’s the best part of growing up.
I still can’t resist a good pair of boots, though, and The Kiwi Co. has a new set with some great ones! Plus a dress and a top and some wedge sandals, too! Go get it!
