I have to admit, I’ve been in a bit of a bad mood lately. I’m very much over this whole “recovering from covid” thing. I’m tired of coughing. My back hurts quite a bit because I had an enormous coughing spell that probably pulled something. I am just so incredibly DONE. And, as such, I’ve been a bit of a pill lately. But at the same time, it’s been a little bit freeing to just speak how I want when someone does something that’s really ugly. If they wanted me to be nicer, maybe they should have acted better?

Or maybe I’m just in need of a hot guy to text me “Good morning, beautiful” every morning so that I start my day off with a smile and not as a feral cat. That could be it, too. 😂

Be Whatever You Want To Be

A couple of days ago marked my 1 year return to SL. Tomorrow is actually 1 year since I decided to come back to blogging. Well, I say that like there was ever any choice for me. Blogging and doing photos were the main reasons I wanted to come back in the first place. I could have just done photos and not blogged. But let’s be real,though. That was honestly never an option for me.

The past year has been… Well, SL-wise, it’s been pretty decent! RL is a whole other story. 😂 But SL has been good. I set up a new home (well, several, before deciding on my current house), I fixed my land up, I dated a little bit, and I just reconnected with this world that I truly love.

What’s the plan for the next year? I really don’t know! I want to get better at my photos, make them more interesting, etc. I hope to get involved with blogging for at least a couple more events, since event blogging is my favorite. Maybe I’ll date again? Or just go out more in general? Or find a new house? Who knows! SL keeps moving, so I’ll just keep moving with it.

I’m Still Fighting For Peace

One of the things I really want to do this year is do photos that aren’t just “Hello, this is my outfit.” Because that’s not really fun for me all of the time. And it’s hard as a blogger to toe the line between being creative and also showing off the items that I feature. But I think the trap a lot of bloggers fall into is just the straight ahead, standing in front of some background, posing nicely type of photo. And some people do that very well, I’m not knocking it! But I don’t want to because I get bored. I want to do photos that bring me joy and are creative, along with also showing off the lovely items I have.

If we aren’t always trying to better ourselves and our art, what’s the point?

Speaking of bettering yourself, how CUTE are my butt bow jeans from The Kiwi Co?! When I saw these, I got an idea of how I wanted to show them off. The sweater and the boots are also amazing, but the bows! THE BOWS! They make my butt better, and they can make your butt better, too!

I have to admit, I’m in a bit of a creative funk with my photos lately. I feel like I’ve been sick in some way since Christmas, and exhausted since 2020, so I don’t know. Maybe that’s it? I’d like to be more creative. I really want to get better at photos, too. There used to be a lot of people on YouTube who gave tips and tricks for better SL photos, but I don’t really see that anymore. Someone get on that, please! Especially with EEP and PBR, things have changed, and we need help! Or I need help. But probably others, too.

Speaking of YouTube, I have an idea for a series of videos that I hope to get started on maybe towards the end of the month. I absolutely love doing the Equal10 walkthrough every month, but I think I’m ready to start doing a few videos again for my own channel, too. But not right now because covid has wrecked my voice. Soon, though!

These Are The Simple Things

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in what has GOT to be one of the worst “First week of the year” weeks I have ever seen. I had covid! It FINALLY got me. It’s my first time, and to give covid its credit, it was gentle. Or at least, gentle enough. I’m still coughing my brains out and my voice is utterly awful, but it gets a little better day by day. It would probably be better if I had time to just lay down and rest, but that’s not my life these days, so what can you do?

I will say, though, that being sick like this has given me a chance to appreciate simple things. Like being able to breathe out of both nostrils, and smelling things, and being able to taste things. I rely on my sense of smell SO much. Much more than I thought. And not being able to smell the world was honestly giving me anxiety. But I can smell things again, and I know that one day, food will taste good again. So we wait.

But while I’m waiting, I went to Collabor88 and ooh it is SO good! You should go, too!

Happy New Year, friends! I hope all of you made it through the holidays happy and healthy! Or, I just hope you made it through. 😅

I was thinking earlier that maybe I’ll try a new style of fashion in 2025. But then I thought, why? I like my style. That doesn’t mean I can’t try out different things, of course. But after a lifetime of not really feeling like I had a set style that was all my own, I feel like I do now. And that’s actually pretty cool.

That’s The Moment I Shine

Many many years ago, I used to host an annual “New Year’s Eve Eve” party in SL. I started in 2009 and kept it going until 2017. It was always a lot of fun. I don’t have ANY plans of hosting a party any time soon, but I do miss them on occasion. It was always so fun to get all dressed up and see people that I may not have seen since the last one. I don’t really get dressed up and go to parties anymore. Not that I couldn’t. I just… don’t. Maybe that will be one of the things I do in the upcoming year.

This year was a terrible year for me in so many ways, but I think I will definitely take some good from it, too. I came back to SL. I restarted my blog. I started truly working on my mental health. My mom is finally in a place where she is cared for and I don’t have to worry so hard. They’re not huge things in the grand scheme of life, but they are huge for me. And maybe in the upcoming year, I can add more to that and find my way back to even more things that I have loved, like doing YouTube videos for myself and streaming more on Twitch. I don’t really do resolutions. I have aspirations.

Have a wonderful new year, and please be safe if you’re going out on New Year’s Eve! I’d like to start the year with all of you. 💜

So I’m going to be honest. I had some issues with my dress today. It’s gorgeous, don’t get me wrong! I absolutely love it. But from the vendor ad, I had no idea my lady garden would be out! 😂 And I’m assuming for a lot of people, that’s not a concern. Maybe it’s even rigged a little differently for other bodies. But I put on the dress, no underpants, and laughed because, oh, HELLO. Luckily I have little “cups” that cover the goodies, and BOM underpants that match pretty well. But I still laughed because all I could think was “Well, that’s one way to celebrate the holidays.”

I Didn’t Know I’d Need My Coat

I’ll be honest with you all. I don’t know how to dress for the weather in the winter. I am a Texas girl, and our winters are almost always fairly mild. But our weather really can go from freezing at 6am to 75 degrees by noon. I typically just put something on and hope for the best. Some days, I’m dying of heatstroke because I chose to wear a sweater over a long sleeved tee. Other days, I’m freezing because I figured a dress and sandals would be good. Over the years, it’s made me very much a weather nerd and I check the weather constantly. But still, no matter how much I check, I’m almost always dressed not quite right for whatever the temperature is. Oh well. I always look cute, and that really is the most important part.

I Heard About Your Lessons

So back when I was in school, I didn’t really care for it. If it hadn’t been for band, I would have probably dropped out. At the very least, it would have taken me 12 years to graduate. But what I DID like? Tests. Quizzes. It gave my 8th grade history teacher absolute FITS because I was so bad at just the daily work, the homework, but I would ace every test. She would sit us according to how well we did on tests and she hated putting me in the number one spot. (Which, now that I think about, that was a true asshole move, the seat changing. But she also told me I’d never amount to more than a cashier at Walmart, so maybe she wasn’t the best teacher.)

I still really love quizzes and tests! I especially enjoy the ones on the internet. Tell me my love language! Give me my Myers Briggs score! Am I a tater tot or a french fry? Let’s gooo! I don’t think that I could have been a very good teacher. I would have just been giving tests and quizzes left and right.
