By the start of July 2020, I was blogging for probably some of the biggest and best events on the grid. I don’t say that as a weird flex or anything, it’s simply true. I worked really hard to get to that point. I’d been blogging over 10 years by that point, and I was at the top of my game. But then my dad passed away and everything went to hell. It happens, you know?

But coming back and returning to blogging has been healing in so many ways. The one thing that has bothered me, though, is how I very much did not do my best in those last few months before I left. I’ve been trying to sort through my inventory, and oh my god. I have folders for events and so many things I never even opened. I tried. I really did. But if you knew me back then, you know how horrible everything was for me, how not myself I really was.

I’ve been trying to incorporate some of those items into my posts now. It’s hard because of course, people want to see new items, even though those old ones are still perfectly fine. (For the most part. Some of the clothing doesn’t fit new bodies.) It’s a little tedious at times, because if I use an old item, I make sure to go to their store first to see if it’s still for sale, or I go to marketplace to see if maybe it’s there. Sometimes the store no longer exists, or they’ve changed what they sell, or they don’t sell that item any longer. But I still want to try. And I think it’s good, too. If it reminds someone “Oh right, I have that!” and the item gets used again, even if it’s just once, then I feel like I did a good job. And that’s really all I want to do. A good job. I want to work hard again and maybe one day, I’ll be back at that place I was before. But if not, that’s okay, too. I just want to keep doing this because I love it.
