These Are The Simple Things

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in what has GOT to be one of the worst “First week of the year” weeks I have ever seen. I had covid! It FINALLY got me. It’s my first time, and to give covid its credit, it was gentle. Or at least, gentle enough. I’m still coughing my brains out and my voice is utterly awful, but it gets a little better day by day. It would probably be better if I had time to just lay down and rest, but that’s not my life these days, so what can you do?

I will say, though, that being sick like this has given me a chance to appreciate simple things. Like being able to breathe out of both nostrils, and smelling things, and being able to taste things. I rely on my sense of smell SO much. Much more than I thought. And not being able to smell the world was honestly giving me anxiety. But I can smell things again, and I know that one day, food will taste good again. So we wait.

But while I’m waiting, I went to Collabor88 and ooh it is SO good! You should go, too!

I’m Way Too Fine To Be Here Alone

Maitreya‘s LaraX body came out in November 2023, a couple of months before I came back to SL. Unlike some other brands, they didn’t require you to purchase a whole new body if you already had Lara. It was a free upgrade. I was super excited when I came back to get the new body. Did I have ANY clothes for it? Nope! Did I care that I was basically saying goodbye to all of my old clothes? Heck NO. I was ready! I was excited! I was happy! Especially since the PetiteX now came in a whole body, not just an add on like it did before. Let’s. Mothereffin’. GO. I know there are some other bodies now that are popular. I’ve tried them on. But for how I like to look, Maitreya’s body works the best.

The reason I bring this up is because it’s shocking to me how many people are holding on with both hands to not move to LaraX. They like their old Lara body. And hey, I’d get it if you’re someone who maybe doesn’t shop often and you just want your old clothes. But being mad that designers are moving on? C’mon now. Stop that.

But, if you are someone who still wants Old Lara, some designers are still designing for it. Like my outfit today forced me to pull out my Old Lara because there wasn’t a LaraX version for it. At first I grumbled, but it wasn’t that bad. And I look cute, which is always the most important part.

Anthology is open and amazing, so you need to go!

A Place You Belong

I really wish I were better at doing home and garden posts. I have friends who are AMAZING at it and I try to emulate what they do, but I think I don’t have the eye for it. But I also think that maybe it’s practice and I really should practice more.

If you haven’t been to Anthology yet, why not?! Go go go! Get some cute things and practice your photo skills! ❤
