Utah In September 2011

We did two trips to Utah in September. We went back to Utah for two funerals at the end of the month. The first one was for a family friend who lost a son. They are such an amazing family. It was a tender experience to feel of their strength and closeness during such a hard time. The second funeral was for my Uncle. My dad's oldest brother passed away from cancer. My uncle Jerry will be missed by so many. He did so many great things in his lifetime. He leaves behind an amazing legacy. He touched so many lives by the great things he did. We truly have a great family. I am glad we were able to go to the funeral and pay tribute to such a great person. While we were there we went fishing with my grandparents. It is always an adventure when you go fishing with my grandpa. I was scared to death that all of us were getting in the boat together but grandma insisted. My nephew caught the first fish and the biggest fish of the day. He was pretty proud. Utah is so beautiful in the fall...

Work Party 2011

In September my work did an appreciation dinner. I love the ladies I work with. They make being at work so much fun. We always have lots of laughs together and there is never a dull moment with them. I love each of these ladies and I am so grateful I have the opportunity to work with them!

Labor Day 2011

We spent Labor Day in Utah. We had such a great time. The weekend started with a road trip to Utah with the Grace girls. I surprised my parents and rode up early instead of flying in the next day. We arrived at my parents and I walked in the house...My mom was totally shocked and did not realize it was me at first and then she freaked out. It was fun to see the shock and excitement on her face. The weekend was filled spending time with both our families and enjoying the nice weather. We had a nice BBQ at the Grace's property. The Grace's always know how to throw a party. Many friends and family came..it was great being able to see everyone. All the kids had a fun time exploring the property. We went to a place in the Riverwoods with everyone and played some games, did some bowling and watched the kids rum around. Kevin and Scott were the only brave ones that did the Flowrider wave surfing. I have never seen that in person and it was quite entertaining. We had another BBQ at Colby's grandmas house and then went to see the awesomeness of Onion Days and everything that comes with it..

July 2011

July was a busy month from start to finish. We have had monsoons on and off all month. The scorpions are making an appearance again which keeps me on my toes. The crazy Haboob. A huge wall of dirt that went over Arizona. I was grateful we were safe at home and not on the road when the storm hit. We have had a few more crazy dust storms since then. We celebrated the 4th of July in California with Colby's family. We had a great time relaxing at the beach and hanging out at his sister's house. We spent the 24th of July in Utah with my family. We went to a dirt bike race my brother was in. It has been a really long time since I have seen him in a race. He did great and the races always provide some great people watching. We had the annual firework party at my grandparents. They never say anything but I am convinced they have to be crossing their fingers that nothing gets burned down every year. The firework party is not for the weak..Totally crazy, but it is quite the experience. We spent time with Colby's family in Utah. His aunt Leslee always knows how to throw a great party. We sure miss seeing all of them. We went to the sand dunes with my dad and a couple of friends. It was so much fun. A great way to start our day. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends. I am glad we were able to spend time with them.

My grandpa's amazing garden...

Love this guy...He is such a fun grandpa. He always makes us laugh until we are in tears..
