The reason why some people are poor.

Guy I know, he has a CNC machine shop.  Has some real high dollar machines.

He was mentioning how business was slow since COVID, and looking for work.  He has been making fishing and car accessories on his Doosan and Haas CNC machines, then selling them online just to keep the machines busy and break even.

So 2 weeks previous I sent him a message asking him if he wanted to quote me a CNC job.  Technechally, it was not very hard.  3 axis CNC in steel, about 4x4 inches, 2 pieces.  He said okay send the file when my engineer was done with the design.

I sent the file out to him and 2 other shops last Monday morning.

He messaged 9 hours later sayin busy getting a second jab, and send quote next day.  Zero quotes recieved until now.

So the guy whines about no money and same time will not even take on jobs?  Seriously.  It was a maximum 1 hour maximum job on his machine with a worker that makes about 15-20 bucks a day.

Second shop I sent the file to asked for a layout drawing, which was stupid as shit cause I already sent the STEP CAD file and the STL file.  Their reply was sent on Thursday.

Third shop, sent me a quote Tuesday afternoon and a timeline of one week completion.  He asked for a 50% downpay.  However since it was only bout 190 bucks for the job total, I just sent the entre amount.

New mold arrives Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

There is the thing in working for yourself, between tossing away money oppourtunities and taking on money losing jobs.

My simple maching job was something explicitly for a CNC job shop business model.  The engineer even explicitly designed the parts to work with standard 1/8 and 1/4 inch cutting bits so as to make the machining easier.

Pandemic Garden 2.0 part 10

So apparently my soil is terrible for growing.

Heavy red clay type.

This week I added fertilizer.  the plants magically perked up and started growing healthy after a couple days.  I dont care what people say, need fertilizer until you can build up your soil if starting from zero.

Regarding tilling in sawdust in the soil.  A ton of research done.

Short answer is, in the short term sawdust will deplete nitrogen.  But it will improve soil structure even when fresh.

BUT...  The nitrogen does not magically dissappear, once the sawdust is decomposed, you get it back.

Second if you fertilize the sawdust will decompose faster much the same as adding nitrate fertilizer to tree stumps feeds the bacteria which breaks down that wood.  The salts in the fertilizer also get carried thru the roots on a fresh cut tree which "burns" the roots system

A light application of fertilizer thru the growing process will keep the excess nitrogen depletion at bay as long as small amounts are used and not overwhelm the nitro bacteria processes.

Considering that hydroponics systems are pure fertilizer and micro nutrients after all and they grow incredibly well...

This current crop will only get some greensand, and a multi nutrient fertilizer.

Next harvest will get the soil tilled with the chicken manure (nitrogen added) and the sawdust bedding.

I already dug up a portion of the chicken bed and the bottom 1/4 inch was pure black loam after only 3 weeks.

Soil structure is very important long term, but for a short term emergency plant, you will starve without a long term food storage or a fertilizer stash.

In terms of economics, fertilizer is cheaper to store than a extra ton of food.

However fertilizer prices will shortly be going very high.  UK and other countries have stopped production because high natural gas prices.  Get it while it is cheap at the small places with low turnover.

Pandemic Garden 2.0 part 9

We scraped removed all the stones and trash that floated to the surface over the last few weeks rains and re planted again.

Weeds removed and tossed to the chickens.

Still have a pile of trash that will get slowly sent out in the trash truck one barrel at a time.

Pic was taken when only half the weeds removed.

It is 90+ degrees, and i am hot and sweaty.

Shop working overtime tonight.  Several Plastic shredders need to ship ASAP.

Hatian Slumdogs

The illegitimate USGOV is importing and encouraging the dumping of these low IQ slumdogs in the middle of your communities.

Far from using the military for its actual damn purpose of defending the country, they use the military to spread these cultural cancer cells to your towns to destroy your communities.

If these Hatians were so damn good, why is the society they built a disgusting mess where the women eat dirt and literally will go into debt to buy dirt to make into dirt cookies to sell?

What possible purpose these people being allowed in except for bad intentions by the USGOV and the CCP spies in DC.

UK food shortages escalating to near breaking point.

 Via Ice Age Farmer:

Important to note the language is escalating here -- food shortages are now a "national security issue" and we are in a "downward spiral:”

Britain faces shortages of frozen food and meat as CO2 supplies hit by gas price spike

Government urged to intervene on gas price rises over “national security issue”

Britain faces shortages of frozen meals and even Christmas turkey due to a sudden shortage of carbon dioxide used by the food and drink industry.

Meat supplies to supermarkets and restaurants will be affected within days by shortage of the gas, which is instrumental to refrigeration and delivery.

Ocado has paused delivery of frozen products to customers as a result of the dry ice shortage, while the British Poultry Council (BPC) has warned the industry was heading into a “downward spiral towards supply chains seriously struggling”.

Mr Boparan said: “The overall effect is welfare compromised and greatly reduced supply. Ready meals lose that vital shelf life. There is potential for massive food waste across the board.

“This is clearly a national security issue and unlike the labour supply crisis, where the government response to our sector has been disappointing to say the least, it has to be dealt with as a matter of urgency.”

British Poultry Council head Richard Griffiths said he hoped to avoid a crisis “through swift government action” while Nick Allen of the British Meat Processors Association warned the pig sector is two weeks away from an animal welfare crisis because of knock-on disruption to the supply of animals for slaughter. He said: “Doing nothing is not an option.”

The CO2 shortage will also affect packaged products such as cheese and salads and long-life bakery items at supermarkets. “We need to sort it, quickly,” said Richard Walker, managing director of Iceland Foods.

Ministers are facing calls to make an urgent “intervention” on gas prices.

Ian Wright, the chief executive of the UK Food and Drink Federation, told BBC Radio 4 on Saturday that if the government did not take action then the impact would be felt within two weeks.

He added: “And of course, that’s concerning because we’re beginning to get into the pre-Christmas supply period when warehouses begin to pick up, build up their stocks, ready for the push to Christmas a few weeks later.”

Mr Kwarteng is to meet the chief of energy regulator Ofgem, Jonathan Brearley, on Sunday to discuss “to discuss the wide-ranging impact of global gas prices”.

An Ofgem spokesperson said the regulator was “working closely with government and industry to ensure consumers continue to be protected while global gas prices are high”.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said the issue “underscores the importance of our plan to build a strong, home-grown renewable energy sector to further reduce our reliance on fossil fuels”.

“We are aware of the issues faced by some businesses and are working closely with industry to provide support and advice,” a Defra spokesperson added.

An Abortion of Comedy

I was looking for somethng, anything worth watch in new movies last night.

I pulled up a listof movies and all of them were PC, drivel.  The original articel I read last night was even worse in its praise.

It also celebratied lesbianism, being an unattractive slut and various tropes with INDIAN (dot not feather) main actor.

This sums it up so much.  Abortion as a happy thing now.  Disgusting beyond words.

Imagine being a time traveller to 1990 and telling your past self that this is the world in 2021.

They hate you example number #484908

Observation about Faceborg recently.

The page is glitchy as hell, can not comment on anything, freezes the tab.

I am not the only one who has seen this.  Olg Volk the photographer mentioned it too.

Yet same PC, my secretary has no issue on her account...

I not use it much anymore except the business page  Gab, nd Telegram are more satisfying.

Solar lights 2

I got some 10 watt solar lights for 16 bucks locally and some 25 watt solar lights for 30 some odd bucks.

Unfortunately the same lights are on Amazon for 60 bucks.

Bosca brand over here.

They are popular on the remote islands and places without electric service out in the boonies.

The 10 watt is delivered, the 25 watt is in bound.

Another thing if you need a off grid vent fan is using a 100 watt 12v panel with a 12v car radiator fan.

No need for charge controller, just hard wire and go.  Sun hits the panel you got fan.  more sun, more fan.  Since most of those car fans are around 80 watts, and most panels never hit the max 100 watts output, your fan will never run hot and last as long as the bearings.  Do not go cheapo on a used fan.  you will not save any money and you waste time installing something that potentially is 1/2 or 3/4 worn out unless it is pulled from a brand new salvage.
