Beast Chipper Max update and Mad Science

Got some graphene in the pipeline.  Except this is gonna be lab tested.  Interestingly enough, there is NO test lab in the country that can do a Ramen test.  Apparently this is a spectrograph test to analyze proteins and graphene.  Not a super advanced chem lab thing from what an American chemist I know over here has told me.

Anyways he is making the graphene, and I will put it in the plastic, and then we will send it off for testing.

A Brit I know has made it in the past and has demonstrated a plastic with 0.5% graphene to be bullet resistant at 3mm thick sheet.

So we will see if that is the case.

There are some new methods to make graphene that basically make it kitchen table manufacturable, vs the acids and other methods of the past.  It basically involves whey, graphite powder, a lot of high speed blending, a centrifuge and drying.

I will check the Brits work and see if I can duplicate it.

BeastChipper Max (or maybe BeastChopper? ) is getting mounted on the trailer today.  The engine I discovered is the same as the Harbor Freight Predator 26hp.  Saw a video on YT yesterday and the guy had the exact same thing from Harbor freight down to the same raised plastic logo on the air filter.

The former tenant of  my shop gave me some hassle today.  He left behind this ratty old glass and alum display case. in the weeds.  He has a shop across the street from my shop.  So he saw my guys cleaning it up, and fixing it, then demanded it back.  I told the guy that he no longer here and it is well over a month, and no more stuff he can get out of the place  to include fruit from the fruit trees he planted here.

He then goes on about the ratty old shed we fixed up and sayng how he left it behind out of the goodness of his heart.  He stripped everything he could out of the shed to include the doors, a wall and the front wire mesh that kept people from breaking in from the street.  I had to reinforce the whole building as it was close to collapse, and I spent a couple hundred bucks running heavy wiring to the place.

So his pleas fell of deaf ears.  I did put his display case in the middle of the driveway and demanded beer for the repairs and cleaning of it.

Ahh shit...

So I fired the rather idiotic welder guy cause he keeps doin stupid shit, and he just rubs me the wrong way.

Other guy now decides this Wednesday morning to be a no show cause he has a little tummy ache.

Meanwhile the BeastChipper still needs welding, motor mounts fabricated, a whole host of small shit to get done and his ass is MIA.

Order is due Friday.  SO now this dumbass 'cause he has a tummy ache is causing me to work overtime, extra work doin his damn job and mine, in addition to delaying a big check that is supposed to cover next weeks expenses.

My assistant to the sexytary is not catching on to her work.  It is really a simple job.  Just answer the FB and Instagram messages, and use the chatgpt to write nice responses, not one line answers.  It is always the same thing over and over.  How much, where are you located, what are the specifications, what are your office hours,

ChatGPT will write something like this as a response to a question of How Much?

Instead of a one liner I get the chance to close a sale.

HOWEVER, I can see how this can easily be misused by the wrong people.  It can be used to tailor propaganda campaigns down to the single person level.

Although I suspect that this has been out for a long time and only now publicly available.  the writing style, i can not put my finger on, but it feels like 90% of the stuff I have seen from Instagram and paid marketing.

Meanwhile FB has yet again shown me how vulgar it has become.  A whole series of videos of women wearing skirts and removing their panties.  I click on see less, and then it shows another one.  Cesspool.

Also Power went out again.  Same tree as last time, except it was the entire mango tree and it knocked down the pole as well as taking out a fair amount of line yesterday morning.  The power outage alarm was blaring, but I did not hear it du to the bedroom closed and the cheap battery was not so healthy.    Fortunately I did notice it within bout 20 min of the outage, and the sun was coming up so I had power to cook breakfast from solar only.

Apparently it was a 12+ hour repair job involving several trucks, and a big work crew from the power company and HOA workers clearing the tree from the road.  The neighbors all pitched in and bought the power company work crew lunch delivery.  Which is why our power issues get fixed ASAP usually.    I only know it was so long of a repair job cause of the HOA viber group chat.  Otherwise the solar pretty much powered the house and I was unaffected.

There is another typoon brewing to the east.  Low probability but not zero that I could see some weather from it.  It is monsoon rain time of the year anyways, so I get rain regardless of that.

Beast Chipper max progress

Spot welded the case in the pic, blades are in for machining.  Full welding in progress.

I managed to get the bearing holes partially drilled as I did not have the flange bearing at the time of drawing the CAD to put the bolt holes in.  Unfortunately my guy used 10mm bolts and 10mm hole in a 12mm flange bearing which will result in a ton of potential slop, so it is disassemble and drill some more.

Still debating using the universal joint drive shaft or some pulleys connecting the engine to the machine.  Both have their advantages.

Kind of under the gun here as it needs to be spitting chips by Friday.

I also spent the day supervising the boys planing plastic lumber in the thickness planer.  They also had both trim routers going to round the corners off.  Getting close to finish on that job.

Yesterday had another appearance on national TV.  I was kinda caught off guard so I was not really dressed for the part.  No more.  Gonna put a couple changes of nice clothes in the office to look the part when clients visit.

Made a chair, best yet.

A local artist bought some of my plastic lumber to experiment with.  She asked me if I wanted her guys to build something for me if I provided the material.  So I included extra material in her order, and asked for a Anarondak(spelling?) outdoor chair.

This is what was made.  The slight flex of the 1x2 lumber makes it very comfortable and the smooth wood planed surfaces do not rub the skin.
