This should not be happening

 Someone I know, who digs way deep in the weeds has a theory about the current political situation.

It has to do with the sun and the earths magnetic field anyways.  

The earths magnetic field is failing.  Likely because of the pole shift coming.  The USGOV has stopped releasing the earths magnetic field strength data for years.

Which brings us to a unprecedented 5th time this solar cycle that the aurora has reached as far south as Arizona.  

The last solar event was actually quite small, but the effects were quite large.  

So what if those in power know what is coming and are busily looting the world to build their hidey holes?

Why did they suddenly close the solar observatory in Arizona and gave us a BS explanation.  Why the massive police presence back then and zero updates since?  It is as much unresolved as the Vegas Mass shooting.

No rest, no days off.

 Bare frame a few weeks ago to installing the wiring.

Yesterday a guy calls me up, tells me my prices are too high for the big 10hp extrusion machine.  He knows zero about the product.  I told him, he should check eBay for a 10hp extrusion machine and come back to me.  Cheapest used 10hp machine on eBay is 12 grand.  I am charging 7 for a brand new one.  I will be raising my prices once I get it all perfected.  

I am still missing the key for the extrusion screw coupler, fuse panel not installed, 2 couplers for the mold attachment not done, stickers, some power cable, and putting in the heater wires and thermocouples.   Keys are not available until tomorrow (monday)

Once this is all done and tested, I can send it out, get paid and start on another one.    I also need to fabricate some lifting hook mounts cause it will be loaded with a boom truck.  

It is a damn good thing I took the risk and time to install the new roof on the welding area, otherwise I likely would not be near this progress to completion.

More progress on the giant plastic extrusion machine

 I have to work carefully so as to not mess up the paint.  Since the pic was taken, the rotating indicator light for the heater power is installed.  I put a red LED beacon light on top.  

Part of the frame is unpainted as we still need to weld the bearing mount for the top drive shaft,  We do not know exactly the location yet as it is a work in progress.  I will have the boys just cover the critical parts with a couple leather weld aprons before welding that in place.  

Because I did not do a full set of blueprints, some pieces are not super perfect.  It all came down to time.  Waiting 2 weeks for laser cutting vs plasma torching the panels is a no brainer.  I had to start building without all the materials in stock to measure exactly.

Machine number 4 will be more laser cut parts.  If I was to do a bigger production run I would omit all the angle bar, laser cut and cnc bend everything, then paint and bolt it together.  I could add in some gussets, and all sorts of pretty features without adding in the cost.  

Magnetic contact switch is a separate box, same with the maser circuit breaker and power for the heaters.  

Inside the panel is a bunch of bus bars, and a lot of 5.5mm wire.  Since 2 zones are pulling 2000 watts and 2 zones pulling 1000 watts, for a total of 6kw, it has to be some serious rated power cable.  

Im using 16mm wire from the main power bus bar to the heater and another set of 16mm wires to the motor.  

I saw this posted on FB below.  I find it a bit insulting actually.  Instead of someone doing this themselves, they presume to instruct some stranger they do not know and likely do not do business with anyways, to make this doll.  

It is similar to a great many messages I get to my business page.  Someone with no money wanting some other person by proxy to do something.  I had someone say "oh you should do this in my town and give it to me"  meaning a complete plastic lumber factory.  I also get calls from random NPC saying that they want me to bring my ENTIRE factory to their town so maybe their mayor who may or likely not have any budget to buy a factory.  Again spending money by proxy.  

21k dollars of equipment

 

Getting closer to completion.  7k dollars each extrusion machine.  Painting the epoxy paint today.  With the rain, this is the only stuff that will not fisheye from the humidity and actually dry.  Had to move it all indoors for the last part of the build.  

Heat shields are in the background getting painted.  

Tomorrow we very carefully install the bearings, control panel, motor, power switches, circuit breakers.  The adapter for the molds is awaiting the machinist, motor coupler later this week.  I also need to install the cable tray to hold all the wires, print all the wire labels, safety labels, and then comes testing.

On the solar project:

With the continuous monsoon rain for a couple weeks now,  I put the system into bypass mode.  Also since the batteries were not going to get a full recharge, it is better to keep a full battery bank in reserve.  

I have lost power a few times momentarily, but nothing serious so far.  However the backup solar lights are not making much light by 3am.  Unlike normal days when they would be bright all night long.  I have them at the lowest brightness setting so it is simply not enough sunlight.    I did see the sun for a little bit this morning, but this afternoon it is again dark.  

Once the extrusion machines go out the door, I will replace the batteries, have the boys move the panels from the roof to the balcony where the vertical garden is at.  Since the dogs are no longer crapping in the front yard, that is the destination for the vertical garden.  

Tabasco secret recipe is about science

 I was kinda wondering about tabasco sauce as to why if did not taste like a straight vinegar pickling.  

Other day I was watching yet another video of a tour of the place, and the guy working there said something that gave it all away.  It was not mentioned in any other video I have seen to date.

He said that the chilis were packed in salt for same time and then mixed with vinegar.  

Which means that the chilis were partially lacto fermented like sauerkraut, or kimchi, or kosher dill pickles, before the vinegar added.  Which means it has a big mix of different acids and flavor.  

The distinctive tang is a mic of acetic and lactic acid, plus prob a little ascorbic and citric in for good measure.

I have found that a little vit c and citric acid to the vinegar pickled stuff really gives it a more complex savory flavor than straight vinegar alone.

Plastic boat made from trash

 

The machine they use to melt the plastic is called a extrusion machine, it is similar to what I build.

Despite it being in Africa they got some good technique in carpentry.  The clear hose and water to check level over long distances, plumb bob, use of circular saws, counter sinking the bolts and coating the bolts with silicone caulk so they are bonded and sealed from the elements, then caulking the bolt head.  

I would only question as to why the ribs are so thick as the side planks of the hull once bonded will provide enough strength.  The construction is more suited to a much larger boat.
