DC Comics Spoiler Alert?
So I wonder what it is this time? Looks to me like Doomsday is entering the new 52 but who knows. Teaser after teaser, gimmick after gimmick, anything to get new readers or to keep existing. I have an idea. How about a really good idea or storyline that keeps my attention. How about something like a novel with multiple chapters, suspense, action, adventure, intrigue and drama. Throw a little love triangle in there an you have a story that can keep people coming back month after month without the need for adding new books, dropping others and crossing over in to every other book.
Seriously though, I love comics and I love great artwork so just get a great story in with the great artwork and you got me. Please just don’t reboot the whole death of Superman theme because I really couldn’t handle yet another ridiculous plot twist. I did see and post about Cyborg Superman so maybe they are going to lead in to something like that with the whole Trinity War thing that is coming up. I’m becoming too cynical too quickly and I hate that. I’m really not hard to please, you did it many years ago and kept my interest, and my dollars spent, for a long time. You can do it again, I have faith.

Nightwing #19 Cover – DC New52
I’m looking at the full gatefold cover for Nightwing #19 and of course like everyone else, was hoping it was going to be the joker on the other side. But it appears the fans were blessed with the Prankster which of course is a close 2nd to Joker. Upon further inspection I notice something that is a bit ponderous. Cover by Brett Booth who I love as an artist, I try to get as many of his covers as I can and I was sorry to see him leave Teen Titans. Back to the cover…what is going on with Nightwing’s leg?
Some how it appears his leg is bending inward at the knee which I believe is not really possible. Of course I am being a bit picky but it’s only because I love his work so much that I find it odd that there is something so obviously wrong I had to point it out. I mean it’s not as if Liefeld did this cover right? Or the artist who originally did the Catwoman #0 cover with her body all contorted in a way that is completely inhuman. Other than that this is an awesome cover and I am on my way out the door now to the local shop to pick up a copy along with some other things. I’ll leave you with this to think about for a while
New Logo – 415 Comics n More
What are your thoughts on this new logo design? Anyone out there? If so, this would be the time to make a comment…preferably constructive but I will take anything.
I’m trying out some new designs and not sure which I like the best. The one above was recently designed by a coworker of mine who happens to be an HTML artist.
This one was something I came up with screwing around on the computer. I like it but then again I have no creative talent and quite frankly I am not impartial.
Anyone out there think they can design something better? I am willing to pay for a good design. Obviously if I like it enough to buy it I want the original layered version so it can be used for all kinds of fun things. So, look things over and seriously get back and let me know what you think.

Earth 2 #2 – DC New 52
Just because it’s new and a reboot and because it was a #1, I picked up Earth 2. And yes, I mentioned this before but I have to revisit because I read #2 last night. There has to be a reason for my madness, not every new comic is going to be good. But, because I have some faith I continue to buy them. Earth 2 #2 was almost as bad as number 1 but there were some redeeming qualities. Just like issue 1 the artwork is outstanding; the cover by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado is very cool and the interior art by Nicola Scott & Trevor Scott is done well too.

The story is better and there is more character development which to me is what I think will make the book. I have to care about the characters at least a little bit for the interest in the story to remain. If I care less about the hero(s) I won’t bother reading on. With all the buzz about the new gay Green Lantern, I imagine those deep individuals will feel the storyline is taking on a much more realistic and meaningful tone. I on the other hand feel DC just wants to keep up with the Jones’ or more specifically the Marvel’s.
Whether it was in the works first or second is of no concern to me, what I care about is it feels like both publishers are adding a gay character to be more politically correct. I could care less whether or not a hero is gay or straight. What I do care about is the artwork, the storyline (action) and the continuity.By the way, spoiler, Alan Scott kisses his boyfriend and they hold hands in this issue.
I am probably rambling but that’s what happens when I lose interest in a comic. So as for a rating, I would have to say…

Interior art was 3.5 bursts
Characters/Dialogue was 2 bursts
Story/Plot was 2 bursts
Overall 2.75 bursts…better but not by much.
